    Hello friends, I hope you enjoy this video! Thanks to those of you who requested this, and thanks for being patient with me! Names and details of each deck can be found in the description! Please note, I believe the guidebook for the Elements of Recovery is now available online instead of Beverly emailing you after purchasing the deck - you can check out her website for more info! 😊

    Thanks for the video. I knew from reading on Amazon, the first two decks. Thank you for adding two decks, which come out of the deck. It would be interesting to do some more videos about this, since there are more decks with a lot of interest, such as: The Group Therapy Card Deck, "The ADHD Solution Card Deck", "The Art Therapy Card Deck", etc.

    I’ve been in DBT for bipolar disorder for a few years and it made me so happy to hear you talk about the system so lovingly. I might have to pick that deck up! Thank you for the wonderful video ❤️

      Yesss! I love DBT - I really think it saved me and changed my life. I did a year long program after I came out of hospital. I know different therapies work for different people, but DBT was definitely for me! I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊

      If you're interested in those kinds of products, I'd highly recommend also looking into some CBT-based decks, if you're not familiar with that approach to therapy :D There isn't really any one best CBT deck to rec coz they all have stuff that others don't; but I find the two CBT decks by Seth Gillihan to be particularly clearly and warmly written, so if you're not familiar with CBT practices I'd say his decks are a great intro. Plus, he combines CBT with mindfulness (the "Be" section) which is an extremely beneficial approach.
      But overall, there's a ton of info online (esp DBT stuff is easy to find bc it's such a stiff/clearly structured system) so it's not like decks of that kind are even necessary. They can be a great intro though.

    These are great, Katey! I started quite some time ago using Oh Cards, also known as Metaphoric Cards of Association. They have 88 picture cards and 88 larger 'word' cards that frame the smaller picture cards, so you read and interpret the meaning in light of the interplay of the two. Really fascinating!

    Thank you for this video! I have bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety disorder, and was looking at these cards on Amazon this past week. I’ve decided to order the ACT and DBT decks.

      @@KateyFlowers I have the workbook that goes along with the DBT deck, and my therapist is trying to get me into a DBT group. DBT is absolutely brilliant IMO!

    I’ve never heard of DBT but I looked at some of those cards and wow, they are perfect. I think I could really work through some issues with them. Then I searched the workbooks and saw they had one just for anxiety. I found the regular one online so I’ll flip through that first, but then I think I’ll need to purchase the anxiety one. Thanks so much for sharing that deck!

    Thank you for showing us this specific collection! I didn't know there were DBT cards out there. I, too, got a ton of benefit out of doing DBT. I'll definitely have to think about getting the deck - I'm sure it would be quite helpful. :)

    Hey there Katey. Do you know what happened to the TS bookshop? I miss going there. I fondly remember the trip we took a few years to the haunted bookshop. Congrats on getting to work at the Ts that's an amazing place. Thank you for creating this video too. I feel like in pursuit of decks to connect to, I am drawn more towards therapy & mental health decks and these are some great recs. Hope you are healthy & having a great start to 2023.

    • @KateyFlowers
      @KateyFlowers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, the TS basically sabotaged the bookshop from within, made all of the staff redundant with no noticed and only offered compensation if they agreed to sign non disclosure agreements. It was a really messed up situation unfortunately.

    Thank you for this great video. I too have been greatly influenced by DBT in overcoming my complex trauma and high sensitivity. I have the two DBT decks by Lane Pederson. I mixed them together and sorted them by type of skill, but I haven't quite figured out how to utilize them. I still track my skill usage and am thinking about either choosing a skill type and drawing a focus card for the week or perhaps a focus card for each skill type? I don't know yet. I haven't done any ACT work but I liked what I saw of those cards.

    These are lovely decks. I was not familiar with the last two and they look really helpful. Your handwritten labels at the bottom are definitely an improvement on the deck for SU! Can we just take a moment to appreciate the whole concept of Cups of Contemplation? What an amazing creation, that is! Muahs to you, sweet Katey! Maybe you would like to share more about your experience with DBT or intro what it is from a first-person perspective. That might be helpful for folks. Just a thought.... ;)

      Hello my friend! Thanks for all of your kind words. And I totally agree that the Cups of Contemplation Cards are just *chef’s kiss!* so good! As for DBT, that is an interesting idea. I love DBT, but I’ll have to have a think about how I might be able to share without talking too much about my personal experiences. Thanks as always for your thoughts, I hope you’re well xx
