This is a fantastic weapon, if you take the time to learn it. Once you know when to use the weapon arts, when to 2 hand vs. single etc., you can really shred enemies with this. One gripe I have is how lame it looks when you hold it. I wish you could carry it like Freide after she rubs her hand on the blade and poses just before the fight.
The biggest gripe I have with scythes in general is THAT STUPID RIPOSTE & BACKSTAB ANIMATION. Seriously, why were they too lazy to change it up? It's not like it's that difficult to come up with a new animation for it. Also halberds look a little awkward (in my opinion) with that backstab & riposte animations, not even close to as bad as scythes though.
I never got to use this weapon in regular NG, only NG+. I didn't actually realize just how much stronger everything in NG+ is til I saw this just shredding them. The Sulyvahn's beasts in NG+ are way harder to kill.
To answer the question at1:14:07 30 fps makes the game choppy in comparison to 60 fps and slows your reaction time making you worse at the game. Even if you cant see the difference, you can feel the difference. That being said, it shocks me that people cant see the difference

Really you just pour points into the stat a weapon scales best with. The scythe scales well with dex and int, so you pour all the money into dex and int until you hit the softcap (40).
JayCee In games there are softcaps and hardcaps. The softcap is the point where you can still increase a stat, but you get diminishing returns from doing so compared to before. The hardcap is the highest the game will allow the stat to be. In the Souls games, usually 40-45 is the softcap for damage bonus from dexterity and strength scaling. Points invested past the softcap give so little, it's not worth going over.
I love the weapon but damn did they miss a trick by not having the two handed version be like how friede holds them instead of just having that for the weapon art
Kinda late, but after seeing this and playing with the cinders mod i can notice a massive difference in boss difficulty. Here, the dancer barely attacks. With the mod it's a non stop attack fiesta

Ryan Dugan near the beginning of the video he summons someone who drops him the scythes, then later he summons someone to give him the armour. (Right after teleporting from the fire link bonfire to the first game area, then at the Farron bonfire before the abyss watchers)
Yogi slaw kill the boss, ( I kinda cheesed her on a low level character. I summoned the npc for the fight and used the crow talons, I upgraded the talons and covered them in bleed buff resin and used the weapon art, dlc bosses bleed well, then in the second phase the npc agros the father and I delt with her quickly so that the no survives, then in the 3rd phase we both stunlocked her and I bled her for ages. Easy.)
I can't really see the appeal of this weapon. Can anyone point it out to me? The damage is quite low, range isn't amazing, speed is okay, art is neat but not terribly powerful. It's an okay weapon, average, suitable, but people seem to go crazy for it and I can't figure out why. At least for PVE. Like I'm seriously sitting here watching him do 150 damage with a swing, sometimes less. Only the boosted R2 2handed goes over 400. Even a basic 1h rapier poke does 300.

I wish you could hold it like the way you transform the burial blade but you just keep holding it at the back

@@bananagod1676 I agree. You can't do that on the scythe, you CAN use the blackflame on the sword though, blackflame is the weapon art.

Good moveset im assuming, like the Burial Blade and Church Pick from BB. Youd be suprised how much a good moveset can improve a weapon
