I’m the guy who was on your last video agreeing that a single mid pipe exhaust on a g80 is ridiculous.. the valvetronic single mid pipe exhaust sound like a trombone, the compression ratio on the g80 is minimal then the f80 so the g80 has already a deeper tone then the f80.. I love this video bc you was straight up, just like the other one about the exhaust set up.. I think this is a very good sounding setup, sound amazing. That awe non resonated exhaust with catless sound beautiful, I rather buy this 100 times over then a single mid pipe exhaust… LOVE THIS BUILD.

I feel you on the check engine light, was in the same predicament with my G20 with a downpipe, with an obdmx+ you can clear the light every so often and you get your remote start. kinda annoying to clear it often but better than the CEL IMO. a defouler helped it not come back as often too
Seems like most people here are in agreement, so this is a good place to start this discussion: in MY OPINION, most straight pipes cars sound like loud trash. There’s no tone, no rumble, just loud noise, which seems to be “in” these days. And I get the purpose of modding your car is often for attention, but what happened to a good cat-back system?? To each his own, absolutely, and this is just my opinion. But I’m just wondering if it’s just a cheaper way of avoiding spending the money on a cat back? Particularly on cars like M cars that already are pretty loud (relatively speaking) to begin with.
It won’t sound loud to us because it’s on TH-cam and honestly it’s not a good judgement unless you are in person. For example, the M performance exhaust is rumble and is amazing I just don’t like the cut out lol but otherwise sounds way better and amazing than the factory exhaust. But it sounds great man remember it’s for your ears to listen too lol.
i saw both your videos to try and make heads or tails of which setup to go with. Seems like the non-resonator is really loud. Does it have an drone in the cabin? compared to stock how much louder is the setup with the resonator in your opinion?

I have the mid-pipes on the stock downpipes and it sounds incredibly good. I can only imagine what it sounds like in person with a catless down pipe.
