I have baked most of my life and I still can’t get any cake taste as wonderful as this. I’m still sad about Costco discontinuing the All American Chocolate cake. I learned about the new mini version shortly after that was also discontinued. Cheesecake Factory makes a similar cake called Linda’s Fudge Cake which is also quite good but is way more expensive than the Costco cake. Linda’s Fudge Cake currently (February 2023) costs $10.50 for a single slice whereas the entire Costco cake was $16.99.

The half sheet is still available. Maybe not at every location but it is still there... bought one in December for my nephew's birthday. They are not as customizable as they used to though.
I talked to the general manager of my local Costco about this. He said there were a few reasons they discontinued the cake: - they sold very few of these cakes. I know that I personally only bought the cake on my birthday. - it was labor intensive to make - the price was so low that they made no money on it. I suggested that all these problems could be sold by making it a special order item and selling it for more. But their solution to bring it back as a mini cake was a great option, too, though now that seems to also be gone.

Just order from Chewy. Great prices and premium products. Also, shipping is free over a certain dollar amount. I buy Blue Buffalo for my cats and when I order it, it arrives within 2-3 days.

I’ve used a butter knife to crack eggs open… that large butcher knife was excessive though
