Have you read the Bible or Torah? They are a lot more violent. You are only using second hand knowledge and no investigation of yourself. Islam as a religion is a lot younger so whatever is written in Quran is still applicable as middle east never went through industrialization.

once again, such interviews have proven that no matter how 'intellectual-sounding' but 'palestine-sympathizing' guests you bring, you always get the same responses. Kushal - I am not sure if he shared any candid feedback offline with you after the interview, but one thing I couldn't hear from him was what responsibilities does palestine people have in sorting this issue. To me, it all sounded ilke Israel has ALL the responsibilities.. very much like Indian Hindus have all the responsibilities to maintain peace in the country, isn't it ?
Kushal hit the nail on the head by asking abt religious belief that acts like lighting the combustible mix of economic and joblessness problem among youth, but our intellectual guy couldn't answer it straight. and THERE lies the root cause as we all know. There are conflicts all over the world, and this one is one of the easiest to resolve given how Israel attempted it several times and the fact that there are super-sich arab countries around who can take care of their brothers.. but the only thing that keeping this conflict alive is the existence of a tiny jewish state..

Stop holding on to land that doesn't need to be held onto for the sake of it. Let the Jews have the small piece of land the need to hold on to their civilisational, cultural, and religious roots. Thats where they were through out of again and again over history, so let them go back to it and it can all be over.

How is corruption and lack of elections in West Bank or Hamas bad governance a problem of Israel. Also Shadi advocates open border. Look at material for 100s of miles of tunnels and explosives and 1000s of rockets Hamas imported. Israel has reasons to be concerned about what comes in. Hamas has cemented Israel’s position by doing October attacks.

Stop comparing Palestine with Pakistan, they're two different things. There's no comparison. Indians Or Pakistani people living in their homeland didn't just come out of nowhere after independence which is what makes it different. That being said, they could've had two state solutions, but there's no meaning at this point. So only option remains is for Palestinians to either defeat Israel and form their own government, replacing the Israeli govt(annihilation of jewish state) or for the Palestinias to assimilate into Israel like the arab population of Israel has done(Israelification of Arabs). I am just a regular person so I don't have too much powe so this so that's all I can say.

Honestly i much prefer amana and khalid. They’re more honest about the grievances of the other side but still give the Indian Muslim perspective. I guess shaadi does that too but there’s a distinct lack of both historical context as well as honesty about why people are having this issue. I would recommend speaking to an Arab Israeli or someone, there are several who have really good points and genuine grievances of being attacked and having family members killed but who realise they need to live with Israel at some point

I really hope you do the right thing and even if it means breaking ranks with fellow BJP sympathising ecosystem, on this matter. We lost a Colonel too (who was on a NGO visit) in recent IDF strikes. MEA hasn't even tweeted anything about it. This level of bromance with Netanyahu is not the moral thing to do, IMHO. We can be long term friends with Israel as a nation as fellow democracies, and yet be critical of Netanyahu and his belligerence (especially, of late)
And from 'what's wrong with India' trend to article 370 to Kargil war, it was Israel who supported India whole heartedly...

In this interview/ podcast, our slowly liberal-turning Kushal Mehra aka @TheCarvakaPodcast didn't counter question this self-proclaimed Palestinian when he shrugged all responsibility from the Muslims over the issues in Gaza. Shadi Hamid was very quick to put all the blame on Israelis and we now have to accept it, because there were no counter questions.

Kushal bhai, I was actually hoping you'd do this as your coverage so far (with Daniel et al) hasn't been balanced. To be honest, I am very perturbed by the level of bigotry/ insensitivity shown by Hindutva sympathisers on social media, on this subject. To see Palestinians as just Muslim (and hence not too different from Pakistanis) is a blot we have to wipe out and think as humans. Yes, it will mean sharing, temporarily at least, the same camp as wokes and even Islamists, to show solidarity with ordinary residents of Gaza, Rafah. But, there's no choice other than siding with truth/decency. Or, run the risk of being vilified in history, for perpetuity. Thanks for doing this. I hope you display complete intellectual honesty and open mind (I expect no less from you) and be a course correcting non-Left, for those who take your words seriously.
And if you took the time to educate yourself then you would know that winners of wars write history... Winston Churchill is a horrible person in Indian history but outside of India he is a great war hero...
Israel may go down as a bad entity in Islamic history but outside that area Israelis will be remembered as brave people who fought just fought for their motherland...
