from the moment there was a declaration of independance of Israel, Arabs attacked Jews. That created it all. The "conflict" comes from constant refusal of all the Arab countries to have ONE small Jewish state in the world, in their indigenous land they never completely left. Hamas is just one more recent occurence of Arab-Muslim Jewish hate, but that started from Mahommet, it's advocated by the Quran, and the pogroms of jews in the Middle East and in particular in the region didn't wait for the state of Israel to be reborn in order to occur.
I'm surprised and kind of disappointed Harris did not show more of that interview where Bibi continues to incriminate himself and even when asked about the Americans potentially opposing his strategy of sabotaging the Oslo accords that they helped establish, he goes on to tell the settlers not to worry because Americans are easily manipulated. I guess he wasn't wrong about that. At least until recently that is.
Let's be honest, there's nothing in this video that people who care about the issue haven't been shouting for years. But it's always great when those messages reach a new audience.
Isn't that also part of the problem? The perpetual drawing in of audience for their bullshit? Seems People worship their politicians who sell the illusion of safety and security. People are also naive that outside governments (such as Iran) spend endless money using Palestinians ? Free Israel from the US. Free Palestine from Iran. ....and get rid of the United Nations. They have been destroying property rights all over the world since they were first formed. Just a 4th tier government with zero accountability trying to tell others how to live.

As an Israeli Jew that has lived in the country for the vast majority of my life, I 100% agree with you that Netanyahu is just as guilty as anyone else and the blood of Israeli innocent civilians alongside innocent Palestinians, is on his hands. Something that I find could've been added is demonstrating the dissatisfaction of the Israeli people that have been protesting for 10 months straight prior to Oct. 7th in opposition to our corrupt government. We all just want to live in peace, hopefully that can be achieved sooner than later.
What are your feelings on Iran? What do you think the solution is to foreign governments compromising your safety, empowering bad governments and backlash?
I dont understand what Israelis feel so wrong about a two state Solution? It's your promised land? Okay sure, why not let Palestinians have the land according to Oslo accords and just end the conflict? I mean it's pretty clear to both sides and the world that neither of the parties can stop existing or just immigrate. Everyone would stand by a two state solution. As for Jerusalem, everyone can have access as its holy to all three Abrahamic religions. You don't understand the hurt it causes me as a Muslim to not be able to visit Jerusalem because of the conflict.
As a Muslim who drives Uber in a suburb Jewish neighborhood, (Monroe, NY) I was a bit skeptical about driving after the recent conflict. I let go of my bias and drove for weeks and received nothing but respect. I hope my Jewish and Muslim brothers can live in peace again just like they have been doing for decades. And thanks Johnny once again for the clear and concise video.

yeah but you should know after watching netanyahus clips here in this video, that peace is almost impossible, zionists dont want peace they showed us that when they killed yitzhak rabin. you saw here in this video netanyahu mentioning that for jews to have peace and security they have to break them (in other words oppressing them) but this is just another zionist lie, its the oposite palestinians just want their land back, if the jews just came to palestine to live there and didnt occupy the land, they would have not had resisting palestinians today and all these enemies. they are more far away from peace and security. if you ask me jews should have country if they want, but they have no right to occupy palestine and displace palestinians just cuz they want a country. and just cuz their ancestors lived to the holy land doesnt mean they have the right to own it for them selves it is holy for all jews christians and muslims. before this occupation these 3 religions lived together peacfully in jerusalem.

The Jewish diaspora wasnt a single entity that was from one geographic location nor did all of them have the same experiences. There is documented evidence from aa far as the late 1800s where a Russian Jew had decried how his Middle Eastern Jewish counterparts were misstreating their Arab neighbours the same way the rest of Europe was treating its Jewish citizens. One has to note the middle eastern Jews had not experienced the pogroms nor the later genocide like the European Jews had.
Content like this is why journalism matters, and I don't think most people understand how much heat and hate JH will get for putting a piece like this out. This is an incredibly complicated issue with a ton of agendas, and it's presented it so well here.
I really regret - as a Palestinian immigrant - to see the Palestinian issue classified as a "conflict", before the seventh of October, the narratives did not take the violent form in their composition, but the truth was on the table (for those who are looking). After the seventh of October, the issue took another turn and considering that the beginning of October 7 and forget that the response from Hamas was not arbitrary, but resistance to the expansion, which Netanyahu himself spoke of Greater Israel and erased any recognition of Palestinian independence, hence the war of narratives arose.

The proposal for Jews to feel safe somewhere is good however it does not have to come at the expense of other people. In a modern world the need for a separate state for Jews to feel safe is no longer necessary anyway
It's definitely necessary, seeing as the jews have always been persecuted wherever they have been scattered. The Arabs have many nations to call home, the jews only have one.
this conflict is quite literally living proof that they do need a separate state, most of the arab world hates the idea of a jewish state and have attempted multiple times to destroy israel.

I'd suggest that Oct 7 was part of the plan too. Don't forget that Israel had multiple sources warning them the attack was on the way, and they did nothing to prevent it. Not only that, but the Gaza Border is supposed to be one of the most secure, most heavily surveilled in the world, the IDF is supposed to have the best counter terrorism training in the world, and the Iron Dome is supposed to be one of best missile defense systems in the world. They all failed on the same day. Much like how Roosevelt failed to warn Hawaii that the attack on Pearl Harbor was coming, because it gave him a convenient excuse to join the war.
Particularly true seeing the reports coming out about how israel was aware of this attack well in advance, and in fact even FORCED the music festival to go on despite knowing the threat
'Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity' - Hanlon's Razor Also this is pure speculation, of which there is no evidence. As an African, I understand the pain that Jews around the world feel. Black people have been persecuted for centuries and continue to face persecution in their own continent by foreign corporations. However, establishing an exclusively Black state would be a grave mistake. On whose land would it be built? At whose expense? Such an action would likely ignite endless conflict. The United Nations made a significant error in supporting the creation of a state based on a single ethnicity, religion or language. That is not going to work under this sun.
The United Nations did not create this barbaric entity. Britain created it in 1948, when Syria and Palestine were under its authority during the British colonization of the Middle East. Then, after that, the United States assumed the responsibility of protecting this fragile entity untill this days. The truth that the world do not wants to hear it " No force, whatever it may be, will be able to support this entity that will disappear one day". free Palestine .. and viva Palestina from Algeria

Is it only when people of color are in question, we drag our feet to decide right from wrong?
@Kewlstorybro101 Thousands years back.... many occupied the land. Such a general answer you gave me, we both know that before that land was even called Palestine by the Romans in the first century or so, it was called Judea and for over 1000 years was the home of the Jews. Then, it was occupied by the Romans, and from there by other powers. It's no surprise that wherever you excavate in Israel, you find archaeological rests of the ancient Jewish nation and history. This is common knowledge. The only way for peace is to have a two states solution like it was proposed a number of times in the past and refused by the Arabs. But before any of this can happen, the Arabs need to stop hating the Jews and stop pretending that the Jewish people don't belong to that land.
As an Israeli, who has been servicing in reserve since the start of this war, I have to approve the overall message of this video. I also appreciate the separation between Bibi and the Israeli people, and would also like to see a deeper dive into the staunch opposition of a lot of the Israelis against him, if you ever cover Netanyahu in the future. His controversial strategy proved to be a failure and so is the right winged government he formed, unfortunately, many of us knew this. Hopefully, we'll be able to throw him out soon and figure out a way towards a new future.
It seems like it has been a trend that anytime Bibi loses favor or becoming unpopular, then suddenly Israel tends to have conflicts other nations or is attacked... It really beats my mind
If I had to pick the one person most responsible for an increase in global anti-semitism Netanyahu is surely head & shoulders above anyone else, or even any group of people. But it's never one just one person... the real power/blame is with those who keep voting for that one person. Same with Trump.
It is 75 years of two groups of people fighting for the same land so they can have their right to be safe. To me learn about one history you understand their truth and are on there said but learn about the other side and the same happens. 😢
So, occupation is when a country invades another country and occupies it. What country did Jews come from with the army ? Exactly ! UN decided to give Jews the land. If you don’t like it, sue the United Nations
It's unreal how after a week of the attack in Israel, documents came out exposing how Netanyahu and his intelligent fully knew about an incoming attack, a report from Egypt and the US intelligence. Yet, the guy chose to ignore it, hoping a conflict would arise to save his reputation and potential to be jailed for corruption....
Read that spotters along the border to Gaza spotted the attack coming but as they were women and their superiors took them more lightly they were not so prepared
Right - and the CIA knew the planes were going to hit the towers and rigged the explosives themselves all to engineer 9/11 so they could gain the money needed to invade the Middle East. Why else would thousands of Jews not show up for work that day - they had been warned. The lunatic fringe conspiracy theories like those around 9/11 are exactly the same as the ones around October 7. Terrorists are evil, and pretending their violence was really somebody else just does their work for them.
Palestinians never owned this land, that region was constantly conquered till the British Empire decided to leave and give it back to Jews and Arabs that lived there already

@@johnnyharris Hey Johnny why is that when you mention the initial war between Israel and those Arab states you don’t mention that this was after Israel’s right to exist as a nation was codified by the UN or that every single nation that bordered Israel declared war on them the very minute the British left? Furthermore it’s also weird that you describe the six-day war as “Israel goes to war with their Arab neighbours”… Except that ignores that Egypt blatantly disregarded international law by preventing free passage to only Israeli maritime vessels, lining up their troops on the border with Israel (Ala Russia’s invasion of Ukraine), removing all of the UN elements from Egypt and doing all of this after Israel has made it clear that an attempt at preventing Israeli maritime vessels from their right to free passage under international law, will be seen as a casus belli. It’s akin to you describing the Russia/Ukraine situation as “Ukraine went to war with Russia” as if they were somehow an eager participant in the conflict to begin with and not the victims of a planned act of violence in the form of a coordinated invasion attempt. I’ll also go ahead and ask why you entirely gloss over the fact that Israel defeats Egypt by force, controls the Sinai Peninsula, and then just hands it right back to them? Is it possible that one of those countries at the time didn’t recognize the others right to basic existence (Egypt), and as such had no interest in recognizing the right of Israel and Israelis to the same international protections provided to every other nation on Earth? It’s incredibly weird that when every state that surrounds Israel in 1948 declares war on them, and then the breaking of international law again by Egypt/Syria/Jordan/Lebanon in 1967 wasn’t “immoral” like you so emphatically state the Israeli settlers in Palestine are. Would you also be willing to answer why you don’t ever acknowledge that the very first Arab country to recognize the BASE rights of Israel to exist would be Egypt themselves over 30 years after Israel was solidified as existing to the majority of the rest of the non-muslim world? The international community has deemed invading your neighbours and refusing to accept their right to exist based upon your desire to religiously persecute and murder them all to be “immoral and illegal”. Maybe your video should have touched on some of those things - had I known nothing or very little about the history of the conflicts there I would have come away from your video earnestly believing that Israel attacked their neighbours in 1948 and that once again in 1967 they just decided to “go to war with their Arab neighbours again”. I enjoy your content typically, but when you try to address some of these capital M, Massive and capital V, Vast issues, such as in this one or your “How Europe stole the World” video (I know you and your team have seen the @ThePresentPast_ video discussing that videos issues therein), I think you and your team don’t properly engage with these sorts of grandiose subjects in the way that I believe you think that you are (earnest, academic, unbiased and entertaining). Even as a brief example that applies to both videos: You demonstrate a clear and repetitive bias for both geographic tools like maps and numerical tools that allow you to ‘short-form’ not only the history of an event but moreover the morality of the event itself. It’s useful because it allows you to keep the content in digestible pieces that run from 20-40 minutes per subject and keep it entertaining. However the manner it which you elect to craft this ‘short-form’ is persistently biased and un-academic - I do believe you’re earnestly trying to balance these things, the directed bias feigned as neutrality, only makes it feel slightly less so.
@@SmallAndDisfiguredWhy don't you mention that the same UN resolutions calling for the establishment of Israel also call for the establishment of Palestine? Why don't you mention that the 1947 War was immediately preceded by the civil war between the people who would become Israelis and the Palestinians? Why do you act as if Israel stating under what conditions they'll go to war justifies a war? Why does Egypt massing troops at their own border after Israel says they want war make Egypt the aggressor? It seems you're upset this video doesn't lead people to the conclusion you want. I actually thought it was slanted in Israel's favor for most of the video, so maybe it's fairly balanced after all.
My suspicion is confirmed. Next question is could Netanyahoo have fascilitated the Hamas attacks? I mean he has clearly been waiting for an opportunity to go all in.
Everything leading up to 7th October is very suspicious. The festival changed locations three times (and was placed closer to Gaza), it took Israel 6 hours to repell Hamas after the attack, and the hostage rescue missions with Apache helicopters and tanks that killed Hamas and hostages alike.
i saw in Telegram Channel in Israel of IDF soldiers saying they were forced to shot to everyone. Look at the houses and cars, Hamas didn't have te weapons to do that. It's called Hannibal Directive
In its current situation Israel only produces "security" as long as it can excersise overwhelming military force. It is folly to think that a state can continue such a status quo indefinetly.
"From 2008 until 6 October 2023, 1,434 Palestinian children were reportedly killed, with an additional 32,175 sustaining injuries, primarily at the hands of Israeli occupation forces. Of these, 1,025 children were killed in Gaza alone, since the unlawful blockade began in 2007." - UN Human Rights, ‘Unchilded’ from birth: UN expert calls for decisive protection of Palestinian children under Israeli rule, 24 October 2023
Sadly true. But Israel has made long-standing peace with Egypt, Jordan. And more recently in the Abraham Accords normalised relations with UAE, Bahrain, Morroco, and Sudan. And there would have been a peace deal with Saudi Arabia already if it was for the October 7th Hamas attack derailing those talks which were happening a few months ago.
Indeed it seems that Netanyahu and his government are (perhaps slowly, but faster than ever before in my adult life) losing support internationally. Videos like this, and the availability of information at our fingertips in general today make it easier to understand his warmongering intent and actions. It's become an endless stream of heart-rending news for both the Israeli people and Palestinians.
I am by far no expert on this all I can say is I was in Israel and in Palestine and seeing with my own eyes what the Israeli government does to the people there really made my stomach drop. I met the most impressive, honest and resilient people I have ever seen there.
You need to ask yourself why Israel treats the way it does, before 2003 the borders were open, no major checkpoints no walls, than the arabs took advantage of it and made terror attacks, suicide bombing, stabbing victims, shootings
Did you get to visit Hebron? If so, did you see that giant metal fence ceiling built by Palestinians above their streets and stores because the Israel settlers living above them kept throwing trash and bottles of piss on them?
'most impressive, honest' , not sure I agree with that. 'Resilient' sure. They don't know when to give up. Israel is the only country in the middle east with a functioning government and diversified economy. Without oil, all the other countries there would be a wasteland. Give some credit to Israelis.

As an outsider who has been watching conflicts in Israel since I was a little kid in the 1960's I have to applaud you for shedding light on an old problem. I'm not sure if peace will ever happen in that region because every time a decision is made there are some who are opposed and willing to use violence to reach their objectives. It only gets worse.
I learned a long time ago. The best solution to conflict resolution is one where all parties are not happy with. Sadly both parties are unwilling to reach a compromise which is why I agree with you that there may never be peace in the region
Everything is wrong in this video. The cable he refers to in the beginning makes clear that Mr Yadlin regarded Hamas in power in Gaza as an outcome as preferable to a situation in which Israel had "to deal with Hamas as a non-state actor". Hamas has been clandestine before being in power in Gaza, they were hidden amongst civilians. So for them to be a mini-state was easier to deal with for Israel, than a group mingling amongst Palestinian and Israeli civilians! This video them wants to make the viewer think Palestine was a real country during its British rule. It wasnt an independent Arab state from 1917 - 1947, it was British and Arabs never called themselves Palestinian until the 1960s when terrorist Arafat started to use it. The (British) Palestine Philharmonic Orchestra of the 1940s was all Jews! The Arab farmers had no idea what a violin or trombone was ! Let alone play them in an orchestra. At 5:11 he says "Arabs would have to move to their side of the line". No, the 1947 UN Partition plan did not require any moving. But the Arabs rejected the plan because they wanted to stop Israel forming since it was a state to take care of Jews! They declared war on the newly formed Israel in 1948 with the stated goal of "throwing Jews into the sea". They lost, many Arabs fled! Some forced out. Tens of thousands of Jews were also forced out of Jerusalem by the Jordanian army.
This video is terribly misleading at the time the jews moved to this claimed land it wasn't even called Palestine, and there have always been Jewish settlers there before the jews thought of creating a state of theirs
CNN broadcasted that video about the Arabic calander being called a terrorist list. BBC mistranslating Arabic interviews and later apologizing for them. CNN apologized for broadcasting untrue claims of Hamas beheading babies BBC called pro palistine protesters pro Hamas. There's a lot more but I think you get the point. You can't trust the MSM.
Netanyahu's brother was killed in the Entebbe mission in 1976 and that's when he entered political activism. I was there as a Christian pilgrim in 1976 and in Jerusalem Arabs took me in and were good to me. This Gaza war is breaking my heart and I hope that the many friends I made over there, both Jew and Arab, are safe and well. Personally, Zionism makes me sick, totally racist.
As someone who just spent a month in Gaza as part of the limited humanitarian response there, I want to thank you for the work you have done here. The individual responsibilities of the October 7th atrocities do indeed primarily lie with those who have committed them and with those who have planned them. But as it seemingly always is the case, it is now being used to legitimize war crimes committed against 2 million people, including children who, by definition are not Hamas. And taking more land in the West Bank, as always. So thanks again for calmly bringing up all this.
Hamas is the government of Gaza. 3000 gazans participated in the massacre. The idf does more to prevent civilian casualties than any other military. Israel builds bomb shelters for its civilians. Hamas created a network of tunnels to ensure an Iranian lead invasion of Israel, those same tunnels could have been used to shelter every civilian instead they used them to torture grape and mu rder hostages. There is no moral comparison here. Like Golda said, we can forgive you for killing our children we will never forgive you for forcing us to kill yours. We will have peace when you value the lives of your children more than you hate ours.
@@nicci337 What tunnels? Where are they? I saw the NY ones, still waiting to see the Palestinian ones. The one that the IDF did "discover" was actually made by Israelis before they got their troops out of Gaza, as admitted by an Israeli official on live CNN.

@user-fs9xe9ls2o as it should be. From Bibi's (🤮) own lips, Israel has ALWAYS been the initiating aggressor in this conflict. It was intentional. Right from the start.
I do not know much about the terrain there in Israel/Palestine but dividing the Palestine fraction into three separate enclaves look like a formula for failure from the start.
That probably because the separation is from de facto occupation post-war, which making eclaves is ensuring strategic locations for defending. I asked him.... The truth is that according to the Oslo agreement, Israel collects the Palestinian tax on imported products at the Israeli port and every month it transfers the amount to Ramallah. In 2006, Hamas was elected to power in Gaza (and no elections have been held since then, nor in the PA). Then the PA transferred half of the tax collection to Gaza. Because of internal conflicts, the Palestinian Authority stopped transferring half of the collection to Hamas. To prevent an economic collapse at the expense of the citizens of Gaza, Israel agreed that Qatar would transfer an average of the tax value each month - which is around 30 million dollars per month. This is neither Israeli nor Palestinian money, only Qatari money that replaces the PA money. Israel made sure to keep the Oslo agreement, even though both the Hamas and the PA repeatedly violated it. But beyond the Qatari money, the European Union, and some European states, America and Iran transferred hundreds of millions of dollars a month to Hamas. The Qatari money was negligible. And it is these "humanitarian" donations that allowed Hamas to purchase weapons through Egypt and receive weapons that Iran sent from its own money. That's why whoever got hung up on the Qatari money will see that his claim will not last long and it will fall quickly.

After WW1, Germany was blamed for the damages of the war and many fees and restrictions were placed on them. This led to a perpetually f#*ked economy and a sense of hopelessness. Germans felt they had been wronged by the powers that be, so the seeds of revenge were planted. Hitler used the German people’s frustration to attain power (while constantly bringing attention to the disproportionate success of the Jewish minority.) It was easy to convince people that Jews were responsible for their suffering. One lesson to learn from it all is this: Any large group of people that are united by a common feeling that they have been wronged is possibly the most dangerous thing in the world. if you ask me jews should have country if they want, but they have no right to occupy palestine and displace palestinians just cuz they want a country. and just cuz their ancestors lived to the holy land doesnt mean they have the right to own it for them selves it is holy for all jews christians and muslims.

Why does Egypt massing troops at their own border after Israel says they want war make Egypt the aggressor?

That is why it is an illegitimate entity. Its “security” is contingent on the genocide of others.

Do you call it a "conflict between naz-s and jews"?
Tens of thousands of Jews were also forced out of Jerusalem by the Jordanian army.
mark my words..there will be peace there and the muslims will control it..
This video is terribly misleading at the time the jews moved to this claimed land it wasn't even called Palestine, and there have always been Jewish settlers there before the jews thought of creating a state of theirs

Love your quality work. So balanced and informative. Thank you
As someone who just spent a month in Gaza as part of the limited humanitarian response there, I want to thank you for the work you have done here.

Ask Netanyahu about delivering bags of cash to Hamas Hq in the back of his bulletproof Audi on Sunday mornings.

To more directly answer the question, WW2 happened because of the way the winners treated the losers. We didn’t want a WW3, so we tried to handle things differently the second time around.
It is important to recognize that just because someone (Britain) says a third party (Israel) can take your home that it does not justify a groups uprooting, displacement, and restriction of basic rights. Silenced for being pro Palestine? Yea right
@@dtoad5576yeah. He IS right. It IS happening.
This is why I fell in love with your journalism, reporting on the truth with guts. Thank you for educating us all on this situation.
This is not journalism it’s investigative opinion.
If your leaning on this piece to illuminate what's going on, may I please advise you to seek out many more sources, from both sides,,read the history, understand the faiths and practices that drive the attitudes and direct the actions and policy in this conflict that has endured many many hundreds of years. Jonny does not sum it all up, and it's so millenail to thing he can wrap a tidy little bow on this 20 minute opinion piece and call it fact.
@@ThemanofkickbuttJust because you don't like the facts presented to you, doesn't mean it's not journalism my friend.
It's biased left-wing journalism. You can look through a story through one lens thinking its facts and still don't understand the full picture. @@Ty-dk2sj
@@colinl1980@colinl1980 He has already done the research into the sources and this video is a good evidence of that. And I agree although it is not possible to cover the entire history in 20 mins, it was a great attempt. Great work by Jhonny 👏
This is an angle to the conflict that is not talked about enough. Thank you for this well-researched video!
This was always very clear to me because I’ve read on the topic. I suggest everyone else treats every mainstream headline and news story with utter contempt because they are lying to you
As an Israeli, The video is full of half-truths and twisting the truth to fit the narrative he wants to present. For him, harming the right-wing government currently in Israel is great, and this is exactly what he is doing...
@@natalie_milo Lot of people like you in the comments. Instead of gesturing to some bias or half truth, demonstrate it. Other people here have tried and ended up being the ones spreading misinformation
@@natalie_milo Sorry what are the so called "Half Truths" Lets play this out
Amazing reporting! Thank you!
