- I will show you how to create and add product categories in Shopify and add subcategories pages to each category as well as adding the products to the categories for your Shopify store.
Adding product categories in Shopify is really important because product categories are essential for organizing and displaying your products on your store, which makes it easier for customers to find what they’re looking for and this is especially important if you have a large selection of items that span multiple types or styles.
By creating product categories on Shopify, you can ensure that customers can quickly browse through all the different options available without having to search too hard or scroll endlessly through long lists of products and by categorizing items into category pages on your Shopify store like “Women’s Clothing” or “Home Decor Items," visitors will be able to narrow down their choices more easily and find exactly what they need faster making them more likely stay longer on your Shopify store and make a purchase.

How to add another another product into its specific category? As followed your instruction but my online store shows the same products which I have added into its specific category and same product are being shown in other categories ?

When I add my featured product to my subcategory it adds the item to ALL of categories. Why? Can someone help me with this and explain why?

Super helpful dude! I do have one question though... Instead of the drop down list on the home page, I would like my categories to be listed on the home page with visual pictures and text representing them. This way, my clients can just click an image instead of going through a drop down list. Do you have a video for this, or could you make one?

When I add a product to a particular menu it appears on the other menu automatically . For example I add t shirts to the t shirt menu it appears automatically on the shorts , caps , and socks menu . Can you help me with the solution to this problem

Hi. Very insightful video. After i added a featured collection section, it won't allow me to add products. Any suggestions?
I did follow this, but it is not allowing me to show a list of items in each sub category. When I add featured item or a collection, I can see the same items in all sub categories You teach so well, I think it is just me~ help lol!

Will that product disappear from the main page selected , only be displayed in the sub category once selected into that category.

If you followed the tutorial and afterward added a product and it appeared in all page/categories you created. This is why.
Instead of duplicating each category after creation, leave the page created and click on "add page" to create an entirely new page if not any change done to a duplicated page affects the rest.

Hi there, thank you for uploading this video. I have created the category and subcategories page. to be more clear, the category page is INCENSE AND HOLDERS and the subcategories are INCENSE and then HOLDERS. let's say I have one product for the INCENSE subcategory and one product for the HOLDERS subcategory. When I click "featured product" on the INCESE subcategory, and then select the proper item and then click save, I can see it without problems in the right subcategory. However, when I click "featured product" in the HOLDERS subcategory and select the proper item and save it, the holder I just saved in the HOLDERS subcategory will now also be the item appearing in the INCENSE sub category instead of the proper item I had upload moments before.. Any idea why is this happening?

When I add a featured product or collection to my category in header it duplicates it to every categories. Not sure if this is a glitch. Any help appreciated.

If you have trouble with all products showing up in the same box. When in pages click in the bottom right where it says default and change it to your category

Issue Solved : create a collection of each category and than add that collection, when you create different pages for categories.
First create collection than pages. It worked for me✌️

Help! I just messed up my store. I had collections already created but was following along with this youtube to create pages. Now I just get the Home page showing and no other pages. Can you help me fix my error?
I’m making each category + subcategory. It’s duplicating in each subcategory.
Example: category
Beauty Products:
Glitter
Lipgloss
Skincare
When I add each glitter type to subcategory, it ends up in Lipgloss and Skincare.
Any help left? 😅

Good videos for shopify! I seen your video about adding the add to cart button to shopify. For the products with more than one variant example t-shirts with small,medium, large etc how to do you get a add to cart button thats the only item it will not let me add
When I follow these instructions it adds the same products under each page. For example, you have beauty and jewelry. When I add a featured product to jewelry it also shows up under beauty. How do I stop that from happening?

OK, so I have two products in my webpage, and I created a page called categories and followed your exact steps, and under categories at two additional categories, that covers both products that I have in mind you these both products that I have on my webpage are completely two different niches but for some odd reason whenever I try to add the product into the category, Shopify ads both different products in both pages. I am unable to separate these products into their respected categories if you can, please help me with this, I rewatch the entire video to make sure if I miss something, but I didn't

Ok, I am not getting this right.
I created the pages. I added them to navigation. I have the pull down menu.
Let's say 4 categories on the pull down.
Now, if I go into the 'customize' option of the theme, all is well. I can add in the products or collections. BUT... they automatically populate to all 4 category pages, not just the one I make the changes on?!?
What am I messing up here?
Like I get one page to look perfect, then I edit the 2nd one and it undoes all the changes on the previously edited page. The 4 pages are de facto clones of each other...

Isn't the usual way to put products into collections to sort the store and the collections get into google search? You are saying it is essential to create pages and add products to the shopify categories to get into google search. Which is better? Shopify categories can be chosen from on product pages and presumedly in bulk, which I haven't done, because half of the categories I need are not there. Is that something different to what you are doing and would I need to do what you are showing if I'm already using collections??
Hope you see this but when I do step by step it follows on to every page how do I stop it from doing so?

if you guys facing the issue, the issue its easy to resolve just create a new template and add a page into a new template just create another template for another page
