No I haven't unfortunately. But its on my list of things to do. I love these types pf videos. Looks like a ton of fun!!!!!! Also we need some inside info, when will the 2020 nukeproof bikes be out?
"On today's episode of bikepacking Wales: Blake loses his bike, Neil is scared by a horse, and they both pitch some tents" it's basically like an Top Gear intro
I love how GMBN always make a point to include extra seconds showing conscientiousness like properly closing the gate, or like taking your rubbish with you, like in Blake and Ray's Snowdonia adventure. Hats off for being decent folk and setting a good example. Hopefully people who don't do the same already will subliminally absorb this!
Great video, I love this kind of stuff. You should do a winter version too. Give this a like so gmbn will see it if you think a winter version would be good 🤙
The older we get the more we grab our fatbike for most types of bike riding. Fatbikes have a lot less chance of having a puncture, :) among other things . We are not out to go fast but to enjoy ourselves. Fatbikes it is!!
Every trail you rode in this video is what I grew up riding in my teens, they are literally the trails that got me hooked on mountain biking! Did no-one tell you about the wild camping spots you rode past, would have been even more of an adventure than staying at the campsite next to the kiddie's play barn (or did you have to keep Blake entertained after feed time..). Wouldn't have been near any pubs though... Oh and that descent past Gwyrne Fawr Reservior at 15mins? KOM holder right here, top of the Y Das climb down to the road in 17:31. So just a little bit less time than it took to watch this video!!
Hi dude, I’m 14, and literally live in these mountains if you know the are, bwlch is where I live. I ride these trails every weekend with my mate and go wild camping, so lucky to live in an area like this never take it for granted, blessed!
More more more. We need more biking trips. Bike packing trips. Just bike trips in general. Take more of the lads too. Awesome stuff lads. Foooooooooking awesome GMBN we love you.
got myself a fat bike a month or 2 ago, I dont ride my full sus or any of my other bikes now......I love them they make me feel the same way I did as a kid on my first bike, they are too much fun
The first loop looks to be the brecon gap route if anyone is interested it's a fairly famous route and easily doable in a few hours. Start from Talybont on Usk.
I've been watching Mountain Biking TH-cam VIDS for about a year now and I love them all the Producers are greatness . Please spend time explaining the camera angles and aerial views and teach us about that too .
Been waiting for this cracking video guys #GMBN. Makes me want to bike pack even more. Blake I'm afraid that wasn't a Highland Cow 😉 (wrong colour for starters) Great stuff guys and Fatty looked fun 👍🤘👊
Great stuff. These are my home tracks. Funny to see how you chopped them up and stuck them back together in the edits. More of these adventure xc videos please p.s. You were nowhere near Pen-y-Fan. The gap (Bwlch-y-Gwynt) you went through was between Fan-y-Big and Cribyn. Pen-y-Fan was the flat top mountain a mile or so to your west. Great to see you heading up over the Black Mountains on your second day. Some lovely trails up there and very quiet.
On our recent bikepacking trip, the locals would ask what on earth brought us to Wales - “there’s nothing here!”. Well, that’s kind of the point. Just look at that scenery. Why wouldn’t you go to Wales??
Daniel Price as you should! It’s a spectacular place. We found everyone to be really warm and welcoming as well. One gentleman tried to teach us a poem in Welsh, which we butchered, of course 😉
Great watch guys as always, was considering riding Pen Y Fan and then I’ve just stumbled across this vid, great timing and great insight. Keep um coming 🤘🏼🤙🏼👍🏼
Awesome video! I just bike packed from Prague to Vienna with Topeak gear, great equipment. Night riding with lights is awesome! I prefer + tires over the fat tires....fat tires just weigh too much.
I GOT IT. Will go bikepacking next year. You don't have to make a lot of awesome trips and show them to me. STOP THE TORTURE, PLEASE. Well imagine working in a bike shop somewhere in Wales and some morning Blake and Neil just dropping by to buy some innertubes.
Loved this video great to see you guys riding my local trails and if you're wondering where the abandoned quarry was it was trefil quarry ride around there all the time myself
I’ve ridden around that quarry before, the reason it’s so boggy and rutted out is many people use it for motocross bikes and occasionally quad biking and the drainage is poor
I love videos like this guys(and girls)! I am plannining 1 day trip in 2 weeks to go from my home and cross 3 mountains and back home. Around 35 km, 2000+m elevetation gain.
Ah, home! Very lucky indeed to have this at our feet. I like the music you used reminded me of zeppelins 3rd album, which is also about this part of the world, and also very pastoral and gorgeous.
I'm watching this on a dark, wet, cold November evening and can't wait to have another go at bikepacking next Summer. I did the Gower a few months back after watching your vid there and loved it. Just need to convince my mates to join me now. At the moment they think I'm a weirdo 😂😂😂
Good video guys as always. Love the bike packing adventures. I use the same tent. Not sure how Neil struggled to put it up lol. It’s easy. Keep up the good work guys.
Best bike for this would be something like the Surly Krampus 29x3.0 bike. Steel, and can be had with a front suspension paired with either Surly Moloko bar, Jones bar, or Velo Orange Crazy bar.
Loved this video - ridden the Gap a few times and good to see some familiar sights although some of it seemed in a different order to how I know it. Can you publish the route you did somewhere for people to follow?
Have you ever been bikepacking?
On my fat bike around the lake district bike packing
Going in a few weeks on my Ragley Big Wig.
How did the Cameraman come with you?
No I haven't unfortunately. But its on my list of things to do. I love these types pf videos. Looks like a ton of fun!!!!!!
Also we need some inside info, when will the 2020 nukeproof bikes be out?
Did a three day tour in the Central Highlands staying in bothies. No tent but we had to carry stoves and food ..................... and whisky.
You guys are like the mtb version of top gear and grand tour.
"On today's episode of bikepacking Wales: Blake loses his bike, Neil is scared by a horse, and they both pitch some tents" it's basically like an Top Gear intro
Plamen Petkov I know it’s so awesome😂
I totally agree :-D
Top gear but missing two wheels

@@gmbn For us Canadians that's called fall riding. It's colder than that right now in the interior of B.C.
A collab with GCN's Jeremy Powers in the northeastern US next winter could be pretty sweet!
That censoring though 😂😂

I thought you were referring to 11:40. I Completely missed 9:20 the first time haha!
Had to pick myself up from the floor after that.
@@roichir7699 hard to pick that horse dong up off the floor after that too :3
Thanks Blake for the bold choice. Backpacking is fun whether on hardtail, gravel bike or fat bike. #gmbnrocks

So cool to see the boys riding through the area where I made so many good memories with mates on our DofE expedition.
I'm doing my gold in this area in October. Looks epic
@@george5040 mate, you wont be disappointed, remember to take a camera because its is amazing up there
Me too! Well I did my practice expedition there and final in the Yorkshire Moors, so GCN covered that off last week.
The ultimate all terrain bike is the agressive hardtail with plus tires!
or Full Rigid even.
@@GeekonaBike In my opinion a suspension fork is needed for advanced trail/dh cycling, but for gravel fully rigit is cool, too!
@@maltestolli4151 Rigid bike is lighter than regular MTBs and flat bars are more suited for off-roading than gravel bike drop bars.
You guys in the UK are blessed with some of the most stunning landscapes anywhere!

i love brecon, the gap, trefil quarry and the boggy ride over the mountain, absolutely love the place
9:40 is unmistakably the descent on 'The Gap' loop. One of the best rides in South Wales
I walk this loop once a year! Down the Roman road! Love it!
That was fantastically put together. What a show.
Is it only me who has been binge watch bike packing wideos
Good job guys
You can't argue with the versaitility of a fat bike.
“The Dude abides “ made my whole week. 🇨🇦🍻

Blake fat bikes rock over very technical terrain, I have the Scott Big Jon and love it ... it's definitely an all rounder 👍

Brilliant. Love the bikepack tours, let's have some more. Real mountain biking.
I love watching your epic rides and especially the bike packing tours!
We need you to do more of this. Brilliant stuff. You will be off on our woodland journey tomorrow.
fat bikes are my all round go to bike and they look so sick !!!
very beautiful places... thanks GMBN!!
Now i just want to get out and seek something like this. Inspiring as hell
Awesome! Go for it 🤘
This is COOL. Big up the Welsh trails (there are SO many...) and getting away from the trail centres, much as we love them.
Ridden the Brecon gap twice. The view at the top is amazing (between penny fan and fanny big) and the decent is absolutely amazing. Great video
Been waiting for this cracking video guys #GMBN.

I still carry the scars from doing that cut through bridleway at 11:00 in the depths of summer! Overgrown is not the word! :-)
Beautiful landscapes!!
What an beautyfull landscape❤. I think I have to come over for a visit. More bikepacking please.
Another epic video! I'd like to see more of the pub and food scenes though since it's such an important part of these trips.
The dude abides! Who knew Neil was a big lebowski fan!
Now i really need to go bike packing! Epic ride!
Looks like I'll have to add another ride to my European trip next summer. Thanks for the great video!
More bikepacking adventures please
Nice one gents, this looks really fun to do, but I feel I'd be over it by the end of the first day. Cheers!
Always an inspiration.
The intro was already great and it just gets better :)
Fat bikes are definitely the ultimate all terrain bike. They handle Sand, snow, dirt, mud, rocks and even bitumen.
No other bike can compete.

but why if theyre not fun
