You know I’m taking part as I love it sooo much. Due to my classics slump I’m putting a couple of polls up to help me choose my books and one of these polls includes two books that will match your prompt
Yay for Victober!!! My TBR is getting out of control, especially since I may only have time for one or two books. Ros figured out that Jill by Amy Dillwyn meets all the challenges (if you've never read anything by her before of course).
Victober is always my very favorite time of the year! Can’t wait. Great prompt, Marissa. There are so many authors I am eager to try! (Honestly, though, I’m having trouble dreaming about autumn reading when we’re staring down a week of temperatures of 97 degrees F. I’m glad I still have a bit of time to plan a list.)
Victober is indeed the most wonderful time of year! I couldn't believe this prompt hadn't been done before, but I have so many Victorian authors who I want to try for the first time. I agree that it doesn't feel very autumnal lately. Maybe it will after the upcoming heatwave? Or maybe I'll have to remind the weather that it's autumn by going apple picking and decorating with pumpkins.
Thank you! I couldn't believe it hadn't been done before. I hope you enjoy all of your fun bookish research! I have some to do myself. My TBR could consist of so many books, but realistically (and sadly) I'll only have time for one or two this year.
Yess. Its so nice of you guys to put these announcement videos out this early so that we have a full month to plan what we want to read. The promts are so fun and I think will fit with many of the books I had in mind for Victober. Glad you could be host again this year. Look forward to chatting about all things victorian books :-)
I know! I couldn't believe it hadn't been a previous challenge. I'm so excited for this year too! I have no idea how I'll pick which books I'll realistically be able to read.
This will be my third Victober. The last two years I have not wanted October to end. I have been wanting to finally read a book by Anthony Trollope, now I have the push I needed. Looking forward to next month!!!
I love Victober and am eagerly anticipating it. I plan to start by rereading Jane Eyre, and then reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (which may be a reread, I am not sure.) The group read sounds great - I love Trollope and that is one I have not read. For my new author I am going to read Mary Elizabeth Braddon.
So excited for Victober!! I'm definitely going to try to read along with the group read, and I'm going to read North and South by Gaskell as well. I'd love to see videos about the Victober vibe but not specifically about books - focusing on fall or Victorian stuff. Maybe a movie list, a cozy vlog, stuff like that?
This is my 5th Victober and definitely my favourite readathon! I'm glad to hear that 'The Way We Live Now' fits a few challenges. I've never read Trollope before and this one has been on my radar for quite some time. Happy Victober!🎉
Hooray for Victober! I'm so glad that you'll be joining us for the group challenge. I hope you enjoy The Way We Live Now and Trollope's writing in general! 🥰
Thank you for the announcement. Apart from re-reading The Ballad of Reading Gaol which is freely available I'll try to get a Trollop as I've never read his work before. I can't guarentee it will be the group read though.
Those sound like wonderful Victober plans! Trollope has so many great books, and he was so prolific that I've barely skimmed the surface of what he has to offer. Do let me know which Trollope you end up reading and what you think of it! 🥰
So excited for Victober. And I love hearing your thoughts on books- it’s always so well considered and intelligent and often things that have completely missed my attention xx
I am so excited that Victober is here! And I love your challenge: choose a Victorian author that's new to you. I have read so many of the well known authors but I think I might go with Charlotte Mary Younge for an author new to me . I have read and loved The Way We Live Now and so for Victober I might try and squeeze in Wives and Daughters. Anyway, thank you Marissa and the other book tubers hosting Victober once again. You have made my day.
Hooray for Victober! I have so many Victorian authors I want to try including Charlotte Mary Younge. We'll see what I get to! I do hope you're able to squeeze in Wives and Daughters because it's fantastic! 🥰
I’m thinking of reading some shorter works because I want to try to some Dark Academia that’s not Victorian, as well. A few months ago I bought a non-fiction called London Labours, London Poor. It’s the perfect opportunity, not just because of Victober, but we’re going to London in November.
That's wonderful! As long as you're reading something Victorian you're officially participating in Victober. I only use Discord on the computer and was surprised by how intuitive the Victober interface is.
My first Victober!! I am super excited to be joining everyone for the group read as well.
Happy first Victober! I'm so excited for you! 📚🍂🕯️
Can't believe it's that time of year again!!
I know! I'm so excited for Victober! It truly is the most wonderful time of year! 💕
This readathon is always the highlight of my year! I think I’m going to be rereading some old Victorian favorites.
Hooray for Victober! I hope you enjoy revisiting your old favorites this year ❤️
You know I’m taking part as I love it sooo much. Due to my classics slump I’m putting a couple of polls up to help me choose my books and one of these polls includes two books that will match your prompt
Oh how exciting! I hope I find the polls so I can vote. ❤️
@@BlatantlyBookish I will message you when it goes live
Yay! Thank you 😊
So excited for Victober! Really looking forward to making my TBR, even if I end up reading 1 book.

Yes for the group read and pondering a tbr 😊

The best time of year 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Indeed it is! Hooray for Victober! 🎉📚
Thanks, Marissa! So excited that Victober is almost here once again 🥹🥹
As am I! I can't wait 🥰
I love your prompt, I need to do some fun bookish research now, watch some book tube videos and see what my library has.

I have that same tee. I wear it year round as I’m always reading a Victorian book. So excited for Victober 🎉.
Same! I wear it especially when I read a Victorian book or particularly miss Victober. I'm so excited for this year!

Same here! I think I'll probably make an overambitious TBR with various priority levels. There's just too much I want to read this year! 🥰

Aw but you can read a Trollope every year! 😆

I will read some Vic. Lit. but I won't be doing any of the extra's. Discord seems confusing to me and I don't have a phone to download apps.
