Wow, Little Willy. I would have been 14 at that time, and my little brother was three. But he was old enough to know the words to the chorus of this and we would sing it back and forth with the repetition only a toddler appreciates. We still sing it back and forth on occasion! Thanks for bringing back that memory, enjoyed your reaction, as always. Peace …
The rock bands sweet where not afraid to break the rules this is one of the greatest rock bands ever and the drummer is one of the best in the world they had so many great songs
Little Willy from my understanding was a cat who would hang around the studio.Apparently no one could ever catch it or chase it away so they wrote a song about it.
It was not written by the Sweet, it was written by songwriters Chinn and Chapman. Do you have a citation? Chapman has said he was inspired by the rebelliousness of youth, and partly on a destructive teen in his neighborhood. The cat story would be cool, though.
It was the seventies Harri. The bell bottoms, polyester print shirts, heels or platform shoes, long hair. I had most of it back on high school, especially a pair of 3" platforms. My hair wasn't that long though.
'Sweet' were one of my favourite bands back in the 70s. I loved the Glam Rock Era. I was a teenager then and it was one of the best times in music history (as well as the 50s and 60s 😍😊) The fashions were great, even though it's become known as the decade that taste forgot 😄 It was a fun time to be a teenager. You should listen to 'Blockbuster' and 'Ballroom Blitz', if you haven't already. And, by-the-way, it's not just the clothes they were wearing that you should take notice of, but the make-up as well. Yes, those guy weren't afraid to wear hot pants and glitter and make-up 😉😊
Sweet are Glam Rock . That's why some of the wardrobe and makeup choices from some videos. Most bands wore performing clothes that were different than everyday clothes.
Yeah man! Shades of high school. Sweet had so much talent and many great songs. Andy Scott is the only living member and still rockin to this day. Keep going man! 👍🤟🤟👍
Great song. It was the first non-children’s record I ever got, when I was 4 years old. I remember hearing it on the radio and liking it so much that my mom bought it for me when she was out shopping. Great memories.
One of the great things about the Sweet's hits is the use of double tracked guitars - this gave this kind of pop/rock a new dimension because they came out during he period when everyone was getting stereo gear. When we were running a disco in the early 1970s these records sounded kind of magical when played in a large hall with our disco speakers a long way apart. Not just the Sweet but Elton John's and many others all had that effect which to us - being raise on mono audio - had a wow effect that is barely imaginable now.
Sweet are still touring today with the only member still alive The lead guitarist Andy Scott.....In 2O2O during the covid shut down the new Sweet line up Re recorded there iconic Desolation boulevard album calling the new version done with the new members Isolation boulevard. Its well worth the listen to if you were or are a fan of Sweet. that classic album featured tracks like Ballroom Blitz and Fox on the run.
I think the British have always been less "prudish" when thinking OUTSIDE of the heterosexual box! The lead singer had on some decent heels for a dude, along with the Karen Carpenter hair. Who was/is was beautiful in unmeasurable manner. This was at the onset of Disco and Males had Platforms and Hair!!!
The GUY with the silver shorts is bassist Steve Priest sadly no longer with us, their management played up the gay image but Steve was anything but gay, actually a big ladies man.
That was Steve Priest. He has an excellent bass player and a great flamboyant, crazy guy. He pushed the limits every time, but he was a great musician. He is buried in a niche just down from Michael Jackson.
@@HarriBestReactions right but he was commenting on their look. Being so glam for the early 70s. But Bowie was in fact already doing that. That’s all I’m saying
I like the atmosphere of the 70s, in general, in my opinion, the best years of music are 1967-1992, exactly 25 years, then alternative and punk did their dirty work, spoiled the music.
Steve Priest was the guy always dressed crazy. Not gay just a fun crazy guy who was shy in his personal life. His wife and daughters thought he looked beautiful up there. 🤣🤣 You know how it is Harry. Some people just like being freakalicious.

Steve preist is the one with the shorts on always outrageously dressed 😂
LIVE band performances during this era can no longer be matched! One of the Sweet's many hits!

I remember this song and even the words! 😆🙌🏻🎉❤
You’re taking me back to my childhood…thank you!❤😂
Sweet was kiss before kiss came along. Sweet was queen before queen came along.
One of their big radio hits here in the States. Unfortunately most radio stations here missed most of their best. Thanks for the reaction!✌
Another of my favorites. Woo Hoo!!
I absolutely 💯 ❤LOVE SWEET!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 They have many hits!!! "FOX on RUN" is my fav 😍 " Love is like Oxygen" ...yesss that's a guy!!!

Man I remember those days. I just cut my hair off. I wore down to my waist since way back in 1975. Keep rockin man.
@@jeffreyflint6286 I spent from the mid seventies to the mid nineties in the Marine Corps, so the hair was gone early.

Love this song...one of my absolute favorites as a kid!

This is what is known has Glam Rock. They are all guys
This song started my love affair with Sweet. Brings a tear to my eye.. I was 5.
How many kids with a friend named Willy DIDN'T sing this at them? So fun.
Listen to "I Think She Only Loves Me for My Willie" by Paul Overstreet.
Oh I know, huh????
Great roller skating song from the 70s😙💃 music 🎼

Fun Rock radio hit from way back. I had this on an old K-tel mix album when I was a kid. Me and my little brother played the 💩 out of it.🤘
K-tel…out of Winnipeg 🇨🇦 ❤ had this also on an album
Great song. It was the first non-children’s record I ever got, when I was 4 years old. I remember hearing it on the radio and liking it so much that my mom bought it for me when she was out shopping. Great memories.
Sweet was an all male band.

I love your authenticity
My little Willie goes wherever he wants. He seems to have a mind of his own. His idea of going home. Is a warm and tight . What a D.
Gotta love the girls from that era. Lots of mini-skirts!
great childhood/teen memories ❤ Ballroom Blitz should be next! Lots of other glam rock hits from this group!
if you've never done Ballroom Blitz, you should
First "45" I ever bought. And it was great.
Yeah, I'm old. F**k it. 😉

Try Sweet F.A.next for a little edgier track.
Right on. I've got every album. Windy city off the off the record album was a much heavier song too
Good stuff. 😊
Could be wrong but I believe I read somewhere sometime that this song was written about one of the band member's sons.
Steve priest is wearing hotpots which are tight shorts
It's hot pants you spelt it wrong
Gamer rock the have good songs. Fox on the run, the sixteens, ballroom Blitz etcetc
ACDC, the song not the band.
It was a guy ;) - such a great Glam Band !!
The are all guys..
The Sweet
I am dating myself, but remember when this song came out because my brother had the 45 (remember those)? 😀
13 year old, 1972
I had that 45 ❤
❤❤❤❤😂😂
Woman in this era don’t dress like that. I’am glad I grew up when I did.
Bowie’s been around since 67
Didnt become known till the early 70s though

bubblegum at its bubblegummiest
Aerosmith had a reason for the song Dude Looks Like A Lady 😅

Agreed man.
That outfit was mild compared to some he wore. Not positive but I think is the only surviving member
ITS A ALL GUY BAND
This isn't a song about a male organ?? Lol.
one story i heard was it was about a stray cat lol
Their corny song lol. Enjoy.
Qué grueso, qué grueso
I don't like this phase of Sweet.
Steve's hot pants, what a dish he was 😍
