@shouldigetit no I don't. I'm a gear head combustion guy through and through. However, when racing the 0 to 60 makes or brakes you when talking heads up. A track car or rolling starts 0-60 doesn't mean as much but when you line up with someone it's usually from a stand still when comparing rides
So the max performance gains will be in sport+ mode and race mode 7 on the GTS black race chip correct? What is the difference between sport mode map 6 and race mode map 7 when the Mercedes’ is in sport + mode
I've seen dynos on GTS and in most of them the 6th setting is the best in terms of power, 7th setting is pretty low, why do they say that 7 is the map with the most power?I wonder what my car's best setting is
Not this particular unit but they do have a Racechip for the SLK! Here’s the link for the 250 www.racechip.us/shop/mercedes-benz/slk-class-r172-2011-to-2016/slk-250-1796ccm-201hp-150kw-229lb-ft.html and the 300 www.racechip.us/shop/mercedes-benz/slk-class-r172-2011-to-2016/slk-300-1991ccm-241hp-180kw-273lb-ft.html Hope that helps! -Ben
Hi friend , i have a w212 and i have make stage 1 tuning remap from 204 hp to 240 hp , is any problem if i install this Chip and will this incrase my horse power? thanks
Hi, when my BMW M235i installed the GTS black, the engine light is on. My body shop said they are tying to turn off the engine light but I can’t, is this a big issue or not ? After installed, should I need to warm up the chip? Should I start using level 1, then 2 until 6 to 7 ?
Hey Louis contact Racechip about that. I'm not sure what the issue could be. The chip does take a while to calibrate, not sure the exact amount of miles but yes start on level 1 I'd say for the 1st hundred miles and then go up from there. Again that's just my guess. You can email Racechip for better answers. -Ben
30% does seem pretty high, since it's a twin turbo I'd estimate a safe 70hp boost. JB4 from burger tuning claims 75hp gain. Vivid Racing tuning box shows a dyne sheet with 60hp gain at the wheels. I think more than the horsepower you'll feel the torque difference which any of the tunes would do for you. Hope that helps! -Ben
@@shouldigetit I bought it anyways haha. Just gonna do the Map1 w/ 91 octane since that’s all I can find around here and can’t find a good octane booster that doesn’t mess up the cats or cause other problems.
Did you find it worth it? Had one before and feel like it worked but swapped for an actual tune. New car doesn't have tunes available so thinking of going back but only have very limited experience
@@A_Guy123 yeah its worth it 100%. I’m using 92 octane and up to map2 in sport mode. I sent JB4 my diagnostics and they said map2 looks fine to use on 92. Eco is map0, normal is map1, sport mode map2. It is faster and more powerful than before. Totally worth it.
Informative video! I have a 2006 VW GTI (Mk5 generation) 6-speed and installed the racechip myself; it was fairly easy since the boost pressure gauge was near the front of the engine bay and was accessible under the hood. I do feel that my car is faster. What I am curious about is when you say it takes 200miles for it to fully calibrate, what happens when you unplug the Racechip from the harness for things like trips to the mechanic or doing smog checks? I unplug mine each time I go to the mechanic and plug it back it after. I don't notice a decrease in power, but I'm not certain.
Thanks! I think once a calibrates the first time those calibrated data logs are saved on the race chip so when you plug it back in it doesn’t have to re-calibrate every time.
This Benz is not an example, 2 hours installation is probably the longest record ever on installing a tuning box on. I used the TDI tuning box from the uk and I had 3 connections and took me not more then 15 min installation, and is there a difference.. yes the gain is pretty noticeable , The car pulls much harder.
Not all installations are the same. I was able to install mine in 15-20 minutes when I had a C43 AMG, but it was much more complicated for my C63s AMG. I ended up taking it to a professional shop for installation and it took them just under 2 hours to install.
hi mate, i got mine on my AMG GT 4 door, do i need to turn on the app on my phone to connect the racechip for the warn up timer very time? plz help, thank u
Does the LED on the unit go away during operation? I just successfully installed mine on a GLE350 with no engine check light. However, I noticed that during operation, the LED will disappear until the (-) or (+) is depressed. Is that supposed to happen? Thanks.
@@shouldigetit I opened the hood while the vehicle is parked and took a look while the engine was idling. That is when I realized that the LED light was gone. But it appears when I unlock the car to start the ignition. I was just wondering if that is normal, since the explanation is not given in the manual. Thanks a million.

Really!? That's cool Franco! What sort of engine does the Hilux have and which country are you in?
The tyres couldn't put the power down!!! Is the greatest unintentional selling point I've ever heard!!😂😊 um...one please....and a set of pilot 4 s!
Had considered getting one of these for my '16 Audi A5. Finally have an objective data review plus a seat-of-the-pants perspective. Good Job.

Does race chip good for gasoline cars? Has anyone try it does it works, and does he create some engine problems & other parts failure? Thx on help!
This is a gasoline car.
Sounds all a bit dodgy to me, so in a nutshell it’s not any faster?
Does this void your warranty if they see it?
Lmao hell yes, take it off
It sure does. I took mine off each time I took the car in for service.
If you have to ask then you know the answer

Quicker not faster. Times are stated as quicker, a speed such as (mph) is how fast.
