If you’re putting on a permanent screen protector like the paper like, take it into your bathroom, put the shower on and let the room steam up, wait for the steam to dissipate and then clean the screen put the protector on, I’ve had a lot of protectors go on completely dust free with this method as the moisture in the air cooling down and sinking drags the dust and micro hairs out of the air.

The trick to putting on a screen protector is to do so in a bathroom with a hot shower running just enough to create steam. There’s a window before or after that steam is produced where it will not fog your bathroom mirror or screen’s surface, but will keep the dust/hair from traveling through the air. I’ve been using this method for many years and since I’ve started doing it I’ve yet to get another speck of dust under my screen protectors. I now do it for family and friends.
Great video as always! Love the channel and the continued support of the creative community you’ve built.

Wow, Astropad has really expanded into other iPad accessories. All seem like nice to have but not needed for me, right now. The screen protector is nice for the easy convertibility. I think I'd like the Darkpad for longer drawing sessions; I like to rest my hand.
I have used Astropad Studio years ago. The experience was really good.

Great information! Just got my Ipad 2 weeks ago so will have to recoup some funds before going too crazy on accessories. It's such a joy to work on. I never thought I would be able to sit outside and do digital environment design work enjoying the breeze and listening to the birds!

Bro, you are a blessing to mankind. Your videos have been incredibly informative, and your product reviews are unparalleled. Especially for someone like me that is a pro artist constantly looking for solutions. I cant wait to try out Astropad so that i can use Photoshop on my new iPad Pro! Thank you so much, God Bless!

I’ve just ordered 3 of the magnetic screen protectors. I enjoyed my time with Paperlike protectors but bounced off of the hassle of installing them eventually. I’ve been waiting for a good quality magnetic one of these to finally arrive. Thanks for the info Adam!

Hi, I’m here to give you guys another experience using Sidecar. I’m using M1 Macbook 2021 and M2 11’ Ipad Pro. I must say that Sidecar works really good. It responds fast, really no delay, can’t complain with pen pressure (ofc it won’t be like a pen tablet but work great). The only thing I don’t like, it is sometimes lagging after ~1 hours using wireless, but if I plug it in, it works super smooth and the batteries of both devices reduce really slow compare to when I use my wacom bluetooth. I use keyboard so I don’t have problems with not having gesture and touch on Ipad while using Sidecar (although it might be great to have, but sidecar is free and built in so I just can’t complain)

I have literally search through time and space to see if i could use full fledged photoshop on the ipad 2022 which i am considering to get so that i can minimise my retouch times for portrait campaigns. Sidecar and universal control don't cut it, according to everyone. Then final i stumble upon your review of astropad. Finally there is hope. Haha

Hey, Adam! Thank you so much for such detailed reviews of each product! It's always better to see relevant content and thoroughly explained when topics like these accessories are the kind of things that one is looking for! I just have a question that no one seems to get into consideration which is, can I use the Astropad magnetic screen protector over a protective glass over my iPad Pro? I still don't want to leave the screen unprotected but using the Paperlike screen protector for digital art over a glass seems to be a little too much layers over the screen... Still, any suggestion would be very well received! Thanks again Adam and keep on the great work and video content!!!

Thank you for the video! I'm interested in the Astropad screen protector. Do you have any issues using it along a case with the magnetic flap?

  • @Lucas-tg6jz

    So basically ...
Art community : "Can't apple make a drawing display like wacom ?"
    Astropad : "Hold my beer"
I've always disqualified the ipad because I run a PC and for now that would be a pretty high cost sketchbook, even though it's frustrating cause I heard it's the most incredible drawing epxerience you can get right now. Astropad studio might really be a game changer for me ! (Although I'm wainting for xencelabs pen display reviews to decide)

Oh the iPad is far more than that - I just experienced a 5 day power outage (ice storm), and it becomes immediately apparent which device offers the most value
There’s only 1 computer, organizer, webcam, content consumption devicE, mic AND pen display all-in-1 that charges using a single usb-c cable that can charge and connect to a keyboard and trackpad magnetically and charge wirelessly
      Think about

    • @Lucas-tg6jz
      @Lucas-tg6jz ปีที่แล้ว

@@AdamDuffArt Oh well I can definitely see the use in that kind of extreme scenario ! Wonderful device indeed ! It's also a lot easier to try when you don't live in a big city : most tech sellers have ipad on display, but good luck finding a wacom for example.
My only concern is the screen size (for studio work I mean, not the one you're gonna take on the road). Do you find it hard to go from a 20+ inches cintiq to a 13 inches Ipad in terms of workflow and comfort ?

  • @rushboardtechuk

@AdamDuffArt my desk is mostly inaccessible, so I spend most of my time on the sofa or bed using my iPad. However, I do use Luna Display and Astropad Studio with my Windows Desktop.
I am curious how you think the Darkboard fairs versus the Sketchboard Pro, in terms of comfort and safety.

So you dont advise artists to put screen protectors except paperlike or the magnatic screen protector for the color saturated ?!

  • @shakedagassi7164

I am curious to know how durable the magnetic screen protector is. I had problems with my paperlike, after 3 days the textured plastic of the paperlike would be completely scratched up. 🙁I would love to know if that happens with the ASTROPAD screen protector too. Anyhow, thank you Adam the video was grate!

I watched Brad's video on luna and I'm still curious for your opinion because the Beta Astropad software he tested was a year ago and more laggy than what you seem to be experiencing.
You seem happy w Astropad software alone but didn't even try the luna? I have to wonder if adding Luna improves the experience at all?? (Btw it seems Luna plugs into your mac rather than ipad so ipad's port remains free. In my case id connect my Mac to ipad w usb because my wifi is awful)
