    For all his contributions to some of the greatest music ever, Bobby is rock royalty to me. Never got his due. Great stuff!

    You know what sucks? No radio station in America would even play bands like Cream, Derek and the Dominoes, Delaney and Bonnie, Allman Brothers, etc., if they were just appearing on the scene. Honestly, I’m glad I was around when this kind of music was nearly common place. Awesome performance.

    • @easy56wedge
      @easy56wedge 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Joseph Lentz I realize that. I happen to be old enough to remember those years. But what I said was no radio station would even play music like that “IF THEY WERE JUST APPEARING ON THE SCENE.” Meaning now, as a contemporary band. No, we don’t even get to hear people like Gary Clark jr., Derek Trucks / Susan Tedeschi Band, Gov. Mule, Indigenous, or any true rock/blues bands currently producing music. We have to hear their stuff on pay services like Pandora, siriusXM, etc. When was the last time you heard anything played on the radio from Keith Richards excellent recent album or Buddy Guy’s? Instead we get Harry Stiles, Sam Smith, and extreme auto-tune “artists.” Sheer crap. Damn I miss Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eddie Van Halen, George Harrison, John Lennon, etc. I miss Clapton when he was good. Dire Straits... I could go on and on...

      @@easy56wedge Well said! I fill my ears and mind with the great music you mention above. There are great bands and shows still available and I seek them out. The current popular "talent" is best at lip sync and pretending to play instruments to a digital feed and also crotch grab dancing.

    Late career renaissance for Bobby. Seems like he is reclaiming part of the musical legacy he staked out back in a really fertile time in his life. Stax. Delaney and Bonnie. Clapton. George Harrison. Derek and the Dominoes! Fifty years ago!! Glad he’s still around to enjoy this.

      Quite reminiscent of the Kinks Davies Brothers. Dave has the voice to cut through too.

      Bobby's voice stood out so much on that album...PLUS, he cowrote the songs with Clapton, Clapton himself said Bobby Whitlock had the strongest voice out of all of them.. His 'Thorn Tree in the Garden"...C'mon...what a better way to take that album out. all of that riotous guitars, then just a couple of acoustic guitars and Bobby singing. that was GOLD 🤗✌
