      I did. It was brutal. I'm open to criticism and feedback. Literally my worst shooting moment caught on camera. Mostly I wanted to share the order of fire with the targets. I actually have shooting competition stuff I may post as well. One of them is one of my 1st times ever shooting the M17 and I hit low on all my targets because I was used to the Beretta. Hopefully that answers your question. I own that I massively suck in this video. I also had an ongoing malfunction (definitely not the cause of all my mess ups though).

      It seems like he got thrown of early off by the M17 malfunctioning and not firing. In these kind of tests that kind of stuff can make or break your score.

    Tap and Rack = Tap the Magazine and Rack the Slide. You only tap the slide for administrative reloads or if your weapon is extremely dirty; but in that case, it should've been cleaned before you walked on to the range.

    Can those targets be programmed to fall after 2 or 3 hits instead of 1? Just curious.

      I looked in to it after because this was so frustrating. I found that sometimes a small ring of brass gets stuck in it and prevents the slide from going all the way forward. Normally they work awesome.

      We are blaming the gun again? Have you seen how he is operating that handgun, he even forgets to chamber a round in one instance.

      Looking at his other comments, it seems that the malfunction was caused by the ammo. He said a ring of brass was stuck in the chamber, I ran a shooting range for several years and saw that happen a lot with poorly made or reloaded ammo, to glocks just as often as sigs, it's an ammunition issue, not a gun issue. Basically the very end of the shell casing shears off inside the barrel leaving a ring that prevents the next round from seating because it has effectively shortened the chamber. It's actually the worst malfunction possible IMO other than catastrophic destruction of the weapon, because unless you get lucky and it's small enough that the next round can be forced in and blast it out the barrel, you literally need a workshop environment to get that thing out.

    You seem like a new shooter? You need to work on your trigger discipline and your malfunction clearing drills. It looks like several times you've got your finger on the trigger while you're in a low ready waiting for the next set of targets to pop. You fight how you train, train to a higher standard. It also is helpful if you're trying to clear a malfunction to use gravity to your advantage and have the chamber facing down instead of up or at the very least vertical. Keep practicing!

    • @MyFireVideos
      @MyFireVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's why I film. To critique and get better. That particular time was rough for sure! It had been quite a while since my last range day and I'm still getting used to the M17. I think I had a tiny brass ring stuck in there (we've had this issue with other people before) and I'm embarrassed to say I didn't check for it. What it comes down to is I need to practice practice practice for sure. Thanks for watching!

    Damn. I remember being frustrated when those old targets were hit and not fall. Now these guys gotta deal with faulty weapons. The old Colt 1911 and M9 Beretta’s didn’t malfunction like that. That could be the difference between basic Marksman and Expert badge. Geeeez. Come on Army.
