  • Toruń is a historical city in north-central Poland. The city is the birthplace of the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. The old town (Stare Miasto) of Toruń is also an UNESCO heritage sight which we visit on this walk.
    We start our walk near the Old Town Hall at the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument. From there we walk around the main square with the baroque Holy Spirit Church. Some festival installations for the "Bella Skyways" event are in the city which we visited on another walk at night ( • Walking in TORUN / Pol... ).
    We visit some other church and head outside of the old city walls into parks, see the medieval leaning tower and the Vistula River. We get back to the centre through the medival "Gate Of The Holy Spirit" and enjoy walking further around before we end this tour.

    Daniel, Oh how I loved this walk in this old town (as you call it).
    My goodness, I had so much fun looking into the History of it. (Stare Miasto)
    Took me 7.5 hours to study this town, and I loved every minute of it. I will be watching the evening one as well. Thank you for BOTH!

      Hello Brigitte and thanks for this comprehensive overview. The city of Torun is less known for internetional tourists. Many people are surprised about the old town when they see it. It's well worth a visit or day trip as it's relatively easy to reach in the north/center of Poland. Nice story about the dragon. 😎Thanks for you comments and details on the video!

    Nice! I just wanted to ask you, if taking videos like this one is better to take with Osmo pocket or Gopro? I mean, which one is better Osmo pocket or GoPro for walking videos? Thanks alot :)

    • @poptravelorg
      @poptravelorg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Osmo Pocket has some longer startup time where the gimbal adjusts itself. For walking videos it doesn't matter much yet if you'd blog and take many clips I would find it annoying. The FOV of the Osmo Pocket lens is less wide than the GoPro so it looks natural when filming into the distance - too close when filming yourself. There are wide-angle lens adaptors though they have limited use.
      Overall the Osmo Pocket visuals are near perfect for walking videos though the tiny gimbal has many limitations and I don't film much else with it. You will also need to have it on a powerbank as the battery at 4K60 lasts maybe 30'. A big point of making good videos is the audio. The internal mics of the Osmo Pocket are not enough probably. I noticed some issues with my external mic after 200 videos only and now cover the whole thing with cloth/windmuff. Audio has to by synced in post though. Wind noise is the main issue and then making the audio level at -2db no matter the loudness of the environment.
      I don't have the GoPro Hero8 (with currently best electronic stabilization). From what I see the audio isn't too good. (see latest Hero8 videos on Camera Conspiracy channel). I'm eying a phone with an action cam (Moto One Action) for additional (enough stablized) clips and vlog type videos. It's also important to establish a workflow and scripts so manual tasks are minimized. Feel free to send me an email for details - accessible in the "About" tab of the channel.

      In Austria and north of Switzerland (Basel etc.) you'll find a similar culture and people like southern Germany. Poland has the architecture from several pre-WWII German cities though the people and culture surely are different. Overall there is also a noticable difference within Germany: North / South and East / West. You may not notice differences from their faces yet once somebody speaks some words it becomes more obvious which area they are from
