- Łódź (pronounced 'woodge') is Poland's 3rd third-largest city (behind Warsaw and Krakow). The once industrial city is off the usual tourist trail in central Poland. With a once wealthy textile industry Łódź is reinventing itself by rebuilding the city centre which we will visit on this walk.
We start our tour near Park Staromiejski and the Manufaktura. This complex is an arts centre, shopping mall in the city on the grounds of a once huge factory. We stroll around there until we head to the park again, then to the plac Wolności and the long Piotrkowska street.
On Piotrkowska street many restaurants and bars make it an important part of the city. It takes us a good 25 minutes until we reach the end. The sun is gone on this summer evening so we also the end of our walk at the Centrum tram stop.

Looking at the images, I’m glad Lodz is improving step by step. I spent a few days in it some time ago and back then, it was falling apart...
It is fast improving (after 1990s' "bad times" for this city) since 2007-2008, so it seems, that you were there long time ago...

Piotrkowska street seems to be the longest shopping street in Europe
Next time you have to visit this city in a completely different way. We have magnificant area called Księży Młyn, where you can feel the post-industrial spirit. Manufaktura and Piotrkowska street are the most recognizable places, but we have a lot more to offer !
I'll check out Księży Młyn next time I'm there. The tour back then was rushed - I spent only one night in each city and could cover many places last year. I sure would like to spend some more time in Lodz as it's a bit different with its industrial history.

This area called "Księży Młyn" is still growing about new revitalised factories, such as "Fuzja". Moreover, we have new place called "Monopolis" and in the near future Cavatina holding starts with the huge WiMa project. Despite factories we have architectural pearls such as: Schibler's and Poznanski's
mausoleums. Check pictures of those places and feel invited on the tour around Lodz.

Thank you! It was my 2nd time in Lodz - that time it was on the way from Katowice to Torun as a short stopover. The day of that walk was a Thursday in August 2019. Now there are only a few places in Poland remaining. I'll see when it's possible on some tour. I'd also love to go back to Brazil - great memories from my trips there. Thanks for watching!

I have to watch again! I have a "ballerino" (Male) moving into my property next week. He lives here, in Lodz Poland. He is contracted to teach students to ballet dance, for 1 year in my town. He will miss his home, as Tulsa Oklahoma is not as lovely as his home in Lodz.

Значит, изначально, родовые поместья, жившие в бассейне реки Вислы, были не крещённые. То есть, поклонялись Солнцу. И их письменность была не латинская, а древне славянская. Так?Учитывая, что латинский язык - исскуственный, создан для обозначения химических веществ. А крещение "покосило" множество народа, то возникает вопрос: кто и откуда крещение принёс славянам? Очень много несостыковок в истории!

Urodzilem i wychowalem sie na Balutach. Od 33 lat w Kanadzie, Lodz zmienila sie ale mam podzielona opinie co do "pieknosci" tego starego miasta. Coz jest takie powiedzenie "Stara milosc nie rdzewieje"...z sentymentem patrze na miejsca, fontanne, budynki a nawet slupy z oswietleniem, ktore nic sie nie zmienily. Cheers.

Jedno z najbrzydszych i najbardziej niewygodnych do życia miast w Polsce, zaniedbane, brak estetyki totalny. Ile razy jestem w Łodzi to chcę tylko przejechać i tyle.
wygląda surrealistycznie ale z potencjałem, w przyszłości bardzo pozytywnie zaskoczy
Czy najbrzydsze? Na pewno najbardziej zaniedbane, bo wszystkie środki po wojnie szły do Warszawy, a Łódź zabito jako ośrodek o kapitalistycznych korzeniach. Niemniej jednak potencjał ma na bycie nie tylko ładnym, ale najładniejszym miastem w tym kraju, do czego powoli dąży. Żadne miasto w Polsce i mało które w Europie na ma tak rozbudowanego "starego miasta" czy tak unikatowej, industrialnej zabudowy.
Niestety, władze państwowe z racji tego, że łodzianie od lat preferują niepisowskie władze notorycznie Łódź pomijają i odmawiają jakiejkolwiek pomocy, która tak jest potrzebna, Środki wymagane na odbudowę są ogromne, wszystkie miasta otrzymały po wojnie pomoc w podniesieniu się, to miasto musi się zmagać z tym od lat samo. Max dwa lata 500+ zrobiłyby z Łodzi najładniejsze miasto Polski.
Nie zgodzę się natomiast, że to miasto niewygodne do życia. Samo centrum, dobrze rozlokowane strefy przemysłowe, ogromny potencjał inwestycyjny, wiele rozdysponowanych po całej strefie wielkomiejskiej miejsc publicznych - parków, skwerów, miejsc kultury.
Zarzucając coś temu miasto rób to ze świadomością, że tym samym to właśnie ty stajesz się prowodyrem takich efektów.
Moze to miasto ma swojefelery , ale mimo to miasto z duszą .mnie sie podoba😊
Szkoda chłopak, że potrzebujesz do życia pół ha ugoru + latryny w polu ;D Takich wygód u nas nie znajdziesz i takich buraków jak ty w Łodzi nie chcemy !
