There are people who enjoy figuring things out but most people would choose to have a few explanations instead of spending time experimenting with every object, control, or enemy type.

Almost all creatures in this game have variations in appearance, ranging from minor to large variations. You mentioned a lizard being slightly lighter green. That lizard also had other physical differences from the other, such as extra green tendrils on the back of its neck! Aside from that, creatures can also vary in size as well. They can also vary in more than just shade and even vary in color depending on the creature. Such as baby noodle flies, which can range from red to pink to gray! Or snails which can be basically any color and even have two different colors combined sometimes. Slugcats can also canonically be any color of the rainbow, though they're usually white, black, gray, or a warm color like yellow or orange.
god i love watching someone whos new to rainworld discover how to thrive in this hard enviroment, it reignites my love for rain world makes me remember when i was learning it.
Definitely a new sub, I love rainworld, seeing people experience it for the first time is great. Hope chat didn't spoil too much.. Rain world fans do that a lot.
It's funny, 26:50 he was actually doing a 'threat gesture' to the other member of his tribe-warning him you were around. They'll either point at a potential target to alert members, or point at a member to alert them of nearby danger. Scavs with low aggression/high cooperation will do this, while ones with high aggression will just raise their spears instead at you. At 27:40 the other one (who killed you before) does it to the lizard.
Honestly seeing a new player now a days is so much fun and tbh makes me miss when i had no idea what i was doing keep it up there dude! :) edit: made this comment before finishing just got to the gate part and MAN that was me back then too (well besides the fact i didn't understand how to open it and i had the right thing for it)
There was a few spears at the end of the video, it looks like. You could jam those into the wall to climb out of that cave. Also, spearing those big bug things makes it a lot easier to feed them to lizards.
the ai in this game is so dumb but so smart at the same time cuz like a dumb ai time was when 2 lizards were coming to eat me so i didnt know what to do, i only had a little fly in my hand so i just juked one of them (jumped over) and i managed to get away safely and the 2 lizards ended up fighting a smart ai moment is when god (a vulture) came down to kill me, i went into a small space, i was close to the exit so the vulture sticked its head into the exit and grabbed me. i died.
Amazing so far. Just as a note, the monk is easy mode and is barely changed, and hunter is extremely hard mode. They aren't super nessecary to play but I recommend maybe checking hunter out.
When I played this game, I quickly learned that I could not play with arrow keys. So I quickly changed them lol. And also as a hollow knight player I was very surprised that the spiky things don't kill you lol
The greens are stronger than pinks but the pinks are also generally more aggressive. Greens just kind of sit around most of the time and stare at things. They have personalities though so sometimes you'll find a super nutso green or a super chill pink
don't fucking backseat. You're gonna ruin the game to them. The game is about learning and you telling the creatures behavior patterns ruins part of the fun
i will say the only two workshop mods I would recommend installing enabling are health bars and smooth camera, both of which will help tremendously without being necessarily game changing. smooth camera will have the camera follow slugcat in big rooms rather than rooms being split into screens, which can help prevent getting mauled by a creature just out of view. health bars is self explanatory, shows health of other creatures. only drawback to smooth camera is drastically increased load times between zones due to needing to load a lot of camera related stuff.
@@NevilsicoShard It messes with the art style and mood, it doesn’t ruin the whole game, lore is untouched and gameplay is improved but it maybe not ruins but decreases the quality of the art and mood, (trying to keep it spoilers free here) this is really exemplified in reaching the top of the wall and the entirety of GSB
I don't think you should get healthbars since it breaks immersion and you can gauge the health of creatures anyways by watching their movement. But the camera scrolling, yes that is good.

If you wanna try out DLC only stuff like expedition and more slugcats you can enable those in the remix settings you can also change the controls by going to options > input settings
12:15 You can easily kill lizards doing this! Pull a spear out of them (preferably while still stunned) and repeatedly stab it back in while crouching to ensure it hits. Grab, stab, grab, stab, until they're dead. They get stun locked by this and rarely manage to break out.
Btw, two gong/bong noises (or x-x eyes) means slugcat dead, if one bong/gong then you could still live (though green lizards always do a 'you die when you are killed' bite... I’m pretty sure) And you can tame lizards, though you need something bigger than a batfly, and some are easier (take less food) to take than others.

Ive died so many times i could match it to the beat of a song.. I practiced a load in arena mode, definetly helped a load for pvp. Im able to kill vultures and up to two scavs, a big centipede and even a white lizard if im lucky. Only up to garbage wastes too
Iittle spoilers: there is some poles that isnt normal, they are hidden plants that when you grab them fall, soo if you escape a lizard and grab in there you will fall to floor leaving you exposed. You can sometimes detect them if they have their red loafs exposed or if the pole isnt have any rusted points
If it makes you feel any better I was stuck in outskirts for the longest time when I was first playing, for like, days at a time, and I don't think I even explored one side of it at that. Good game though, I'm currently trying hunter, trying.
Fun fact: if you get “killed” by the lizard mouth and wait long enough a another lizard will fight the lizard and maybe good chances you get out scot free from there fight for food aka you. (Only work for lizard)

It's very refreshing to see someone chill trying this game for the first time. My slugcats are already tough veterans, they've seen some shit. This pure innocence, optimistic curiosity... beautiful.
6:35 there is like a 2 second time limit of when your in his mouth that your alive and you have to use that time frame to throw something at him to escape.

The reason you keep missing lizards is because you're not crouching before you throw, so it throws slightly above their body.

I eventually learned this and green lizards aren’t a always kill bite, reds are but I don’t think any others are 100%, greens are 1/3
