Now thats the way its done, that test stand is perfect, the engine w/headers with the exhaust turned away from you, the guages, the switches and the throttle lever integrated into a the panel along with the battery and gas can in the stand as well at your feet. This is exactly how i would build mine if i had the need...
John Broughton Thanks for saying, John. There's really not that much money there...most of the parts were leftovers from projects that I've done over the years. The rest came from Craigslist or Ebay or I built myself (the dashboard, for example, was built from scrap metal and used switches). Anyway, thanks for the comment.
@@1MomentaryPaws this is awesome wish you had a video on how you built this need something like this so i can start my 326 engine that was rebuilt . Cant start it my car has no wiring so i don’t know how else to start it
Very Nice Stand, I'm impressed. I love your throttle setup! I have my own 327 to build, Small Journal out of an old Vette. I had the year written down somewhere but I've done forgot. I'm thinking '63 or '64... don't quote me I may be wrong Can't wait to hear mine rumble and roar like that! ..... If only I had that stand Haha
I'm wondering if you can make a tutorial of how you built it I know the basics of the wiring everything together but I'm not sure if it'd turn out good lol
Hey, Do you have any more info on the turnbuckles you used? What was their rating, how were they mounted? I'm thinking of building my own on my channel and I like the idea of the turnbuckles for ease of adjustability.
@@1MomentaryPaws so they're pluged welded on both side with a bolt through them so they can move latterly and I'm assuming can be threaded up and down to adjust length?
@@VicsGarage71 There's really no lateral movement front to back, as I used spacers to center the rod end in the motor mount. The engine cannot move left to right either, as the exhaust is attached to the radiator support up front...it acts as a kind of third motor mount and is the secret to keeping this whole rig as stable as it is (but remember it's a secret, so don't tell anyone ;-) As far as adjusting length, there really isn't much adjustment using these parts, maybe a couple inches. I made this stand specifically for V8 Chevy engines, so there is not a lot of adjustment required after the initial set up, even when changing engines. If you are building a stand to run different makes of engines, you're going to need something more adjustable than what I've got.
Where did you get the fuel cell? I'm in the process of building one of these and all of the nicer cells like the one you are using are quite expensive.
The supports are made from mild steel tubing and rod ends, all available from ebay for not too much money...they are adjustable (to a point) and super easy to build. Thanks for your comment/question.

best stand I've ever seen 🎉
That is what you call....thinking OUTSIDE the BOX!!! YES!!!!!
That thing is a work of art
Sounds like a C-17 taking off in the background.
Best one yet man that exhaust system is next level
You got more money in just the stand than I have in my entire 1998 Mustang
It is very nice!

Just seeing this. I really need to build one and your videos will be a great help. Thanks!
i seen a v8 in the scrap yard and if i can get it cheep i think this is what ill need make to start to fix it
Excellent!!! When can I take my engine over for a cam break in?
Also Note: The skulls on the radiator support are gearshift knobs from ebay. They make nice handles for moving the stand around.
How long are the turnbuckles
Nice!
Note: Throttle lever was $10 from Ebay...it is for a Yardman riding lawn mower.

Adan Franco Sorry, Adan, I'm not much good at tutorials. This might help a little. th-cam.com/video/K_9Y0SbnCs8/w-d-xo.html
OK thanks, I'll take a look at that 1MomentaryPaws
Ha! I'm perusing the TH-cams for engine test stand ideas by, I too, am building a C3 Corvette
Now that’s very impressive, nice

I used something like this, plug welded into mild steel tubing. www.ebay.com/itm/283299029049?hash=item41f5f02039:g:tqQAAOSwxaNd6eII

Is that a tree fitty motor
Nice job!

What kind of cam?
+blackericdenice It is a Comp Cams 12-213-3.
How long are the turnbuckles
Around 28", center to center.
What the fuck is keeping this thing from flopping over when he revs it??
