    That's really well done! Looks clean like that. I Bet working on the engine like that is way more enjoyable. Looking to do something similar but I guess I'm gonna make the transmission mount completely as well like you did with the engine mount Making it able to slide around too.
    Haven't watched part 2 yet but I would think having the gearbox solid mounted like that is going to make it vibrate a lot.
    Investing in good casters was a smart move! More cheap casters would be infuriating to use.
    You might see the PU break apart when you roll them around a lot though.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No vibration. Runs really smooth solid mounted. All the engines I ran anyway.

    The only improvement i would suggest on this stand so far is the bolts to lockdown the crossmember tube personally I would have put them on the inside of the frame that way I won't catch my ankle or anyting else in the shop when I'm pushing it around. Other than that fantastic build even if it is over built that's the way I do things too. So it's perfect for this guy.

  • @TheRaulr151

    man that's nice. You also must have some nice spare metal hanging around....currently that's probably about 150-200 bucks worth of metal.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We have a big metal stand full of metal. Most of it was bought a long time ago for other projects. Some of it was bought when a metal shop near us closed down. This stand isn't a cheap diy stand like most on TH-cam. It's going to cost you if you copy mine but you are going to have something cool when done. I actually sold this stand for $3k and built another one with a few tweaks.

    I really like your engine run stand. Simple, just the way I like to do things. I'm about to do the same thing for my 402 chevrolet engine. I just need to figure out how high you made your mount for the bellhousing and the rest should be easy. Thanks for posting.

    • @mossman381
      @mossman381  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I sold this stand, but I believe I tell how high the top of the intake manifold is off the ground. You should be able to figure an approximate height using that measurement. I doesn't have to be exact. You should build yours to the height you want anyway.
