  • Buy it on Amazon - goo.gl/jYNYFq (affiliate link). The Asus Transformer is an outstanding value. It has adequate horsepower, runs the real Windows 8.1, and can even hold its own as a light duty gaming machine.
    The unit includes a 10.1 inch detachable tablet screen, keyboard, and the full version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. DISCLOSURE: I received this product through the Amazon Vine program to review on Amazon's site.

    Amazing little laptop, ordered it. This laptop is perfect for gaming considering you have millions of games to choose from! all games from 1900's to 2005 on max settings. Much better value than any handheld gaming console! And you can do work and watch movies too!

    I was pretty iffy on buying this, as the girlfriend wants to replace her full sized ASUS laptop with a tablet hybrid. I stumbled onto this tablet on best buy's site and instantly started looking for reviews. Yours sold us. Thanks, bud!

    Always enjoy your reviews; you don’t go around the bush, you go straight to the point. That is now review should be. Most reviews are draggy, talk about the box, the plastic shrink, the stickers which people don’t want to know; 40% about useless stuffs, 60% the actual review. Thanks!

    I use my Asus Transformer Book for school as a student, and it really does the job quite well for word processing, note-taking, etc. I've upgraded mine to Windows 10 Pro and although it had a few driver issues here and there, this device in particular has a very large and vibrant community for any and all issues or help. If I had one issue, it'd have to be the speakers - they're rather tinny and quiet. What really impressed me was the headphone performance. Really great sound, which is ironic considering the underwhelming speakers. Overall, I'm happy with it! I think when I get a replacement, I'll be getting a newer model of the same series. Considering the price (around $200 or so), it's a great little device!

    i think its a wonderful device that can play moderate games like minecraft, team fortress 2 and the first COD black ops. You did an excellent review, and I think its amazing how you answer every comment and question. The only thing I dislike about it is how much fingerprints it shows!

    You are really well spoken, good review. Reminder to those watching, these units need to be updated to the latest bios - the T100 in particular has a number of issues with the shipped bios version which are solved rather convincingly with an update. Like the reviewer, we are finding these to be quite decent units.

    hi . before i purchase one . my question is does the transformer can play files like movies from an external 1 tera hard drive that connected to him. without any stucking problems . thx

  • @eli4710
    @eli4710 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    thx for the quick answer . but i forgot to add the main thing :) : does it still going to work well reading files from the external 1 tera hard drive, with only the tablet . so it without the electricity cable that connected to the keyboard, powered with just the battery . did you tried it ?

    Lon:
    Really enjoy your reviews, complete and to the point.
    Being a former user of the Asus T-100 Transformer that you reviewed a few things to be wary of are the rocker buttons for sound and power if pressed firmly can get stuck in case, (should be thicker buttons), also Windows firmware can be a bit touchy as mine lost some Windows boot configuration files, Asus support was not helpful, so got online and found if you open the case, disconnect the battery for 20 seconds and reconnect then re-start it came back to life, unfortunately after five more episodes over the next couple of months I had to get something more reliable as the clips holding the case together were wearing out.
    In its place am now using a 15 Lenovo backup laptop until I find another more reliable tablet will be watching closely.

    I order mine during the black friday sale for 300.00 on microsoft store. I do have a heavy loaded desktop PC (mainly for games and other power hungry programs). The main reason why I when for this little device is for the portability, specially when i'll not be at home for the xmas or new years. Since my home PC is a massive one (quite literally, cosmos 2 case) I needed something that counter balance it for the sake of just portability and productivity (microsoft office is an awesome bundle) and it seems perfect. I am aware it is "crappy" compare to "premium" hardware such as an ipad, or the next big thing when it comes to phones or samsung tablets. They just can't do what I need it for others options doesn't come with the "crappy keyboard" so it's just a win-win for me and my personal need on the go.

    I had never seriously thought about buying a tablet, like ipad...etc. simply because they are nearly as expensive as a business grade laptop with a much smaller screen and most of the times much slower cpu and worse of all the OS they are running is nothing compared to a desktop/laptop OS, but now that I have seen this, I will actually buy it. it is very sleek. As a matter of fact I got an in-email exclusive offer from one of the distributors offering me this tablet for only 250$ for a limited time after rebate (keyboard not included) haha that's why I ended up on this page at the first place.
    And again the Micro HDMI port, windows OS and the fact that it has a 1.8 ghz cpu , expandable memory bay, 2G DDR3...etc.these are all very impressive for something that costs only 250$. [the retail price of this tablet is almost twice as much as what I have been offered!]

I dont need premiere pro in 4k quality. I just need to know if it can handle some simple edits in 1080p. Also, kickass background. ***** Don't underrate the portrait mode of a widescreen LCD, I am a student at University and that widescreen LCD in portrait mode makes studying PDF documents MUCH MUCH easier compared to its horizontal standing. I have also seen similar tablets with Widescreens used in business offices, doctors office....etc. in portrait mode and I guess they have the same opinion. As a matter of fact that portrait mode is so good (for administrative purposes such as writing, reading ...etc not for playing games or watching movies, obviously not) that I have a Dell widescreen LCD that most of the times when I am reading articles or studying I rotate it the portrait stand.....try it, you won't regret it.

    Just to ask you being in the U.S I assume the 32 gig version is supposed to be 349.99 and the 64 gig 399.99 Us Dollars ( as the same as Best Buy, Microsoft Store etc ) so why when I click the link Amazon has the 32 gig at 439.99 and the 6 gig 478.99 ? My only gripe is why on earth wouldn't Asus had an additional battery to the dock ..I mean that's there MO and innovation in the Transformer line up ! being that Asus says the Tablet itself is 10hrs I will auto think 7 to 8 hrs if not less under hard usage ..an additional 5 or 6 hrs in a battery equip dock would have made me happy. Set aside Bay trail I see why people wouldn't just get a the previous Clover Trail in the Acer Iconia W510 with Dock ( 299.99 -249.99) tops The tablet is 10 hrs ( 8 under hard usage ) and Dock gives an additional 5 to 6 hrs all the while recharging the Tablet while dock adding additional 40 to 50 % to the tablet full circle - you can get up to 18 hrs I have gotten too

    How come it's hard to find your game on the app list when you can sort your apps however you want, pin them easily in the start, and also you had the search box on your up-right corner? Or maybe you forgot what game you recently installed, but wait, it's easy to find those things too, you just sort them by the date installed.

    Hey, i really love your video, is that lenovo thinkpad tablet 2 that u are looking from and to do your review? It's a really great tablet and although it has 2nd gen clovertrail atom cpu, it's got a pen. However, if people want a 10 inch tablet with pen, they may perhaps get the surface pro 2 or the upcoming thinkpad 10 which both have 1920x1080 resolution and i can't wait to see thinkpad 10 in shops. I might still get sp2 but will definitely compare the battery life of both devices first!

The lappy serves as a control platform for my lipo battery charger and I use it for set up on my flybarless control systems on large RC helicopters....I'm assuming this will download and run the same programs as my old laptop? May I ask that, do you keep the devices you review, or do you send them back, if a certain company sponsers you

    Thank you fot this review, in fact you made me buy this little hybrid and i don`t regret i did :) I bought the 32GB version with 500gb hard drive mounted in the dock station, however would love to extend the tablet storage by adding 32gb microsd card, will there be noticable performance drops after changing the windows store apps default path from c drive to removable disk ?

    Takes forever to charge and the camera is a good camera but is a selfy camera and not good if you want to take a picture of something as it has no lens on the other side..I bought this tablet for my 10 yr old daughter for school.

    This thing is perfect for Hearthstone, Online poker, Microsoft office, and Internet browsing! ( Don't waste your time with any demanding games, if they do run it will be so laggy you wish you never sent the time to install them)

    Hi Lon. I really appreciate all the great reviews--especially of the ATEM line. Have you tried using this to run the ATEM Studio Control software? Will that whole gui interface fit on the 10" screen at one time? Or would one need to move it around to get to "offscreen" parts? (I don't think there is a way to resize the ATEM Studio Control window?). I saw your review that stated a preference for the 14" touchscreen for switcher control, but like the option for both hard and soft keys in 1 device. Planning to buy one of these to drive the switcher and one to use for video clip inputs into ATEM (and backup switch control). Many thanks!

    Hey Lon, I am looking for something for light gaming (TF2, Minecraft, Spore, ect) and school. Would this run Minecraft and TF2 and other light steam games? Thanks!

    • @user-vq4pc1dz3k
      @user-vq4pc1dz3k 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes TF2 might lag a bit and don't expect minecraft to run at highest setting but if you want a better light gaming option choose the T100CHI better processor speed.
