That is the best video I have seen so far, there is so little content about instrumentation yet this is highest quality video. Keep going sir, love it!
Good idea for a next video would be the difference types of values encountered in Oil & Gas for example SDV’s (Shut down valves) FCV’s (Flow control valves) & PCV’s (Pressure control valves), BDV (Blowdown valves) Vent valves and Bypass valves, also can mention I/P control for Actuation of valving. Types of Actuators, Single or Duel Piston? You could also mention Gas Compression and how it works with Gas Turbines. I used to work for a Gas Turbine company so can definitely point you in the right direction.
Hi Jurassic Sparks. That's a great idea. I'll definitely stick it on the list of video ideas. I do want to do some gas compression videos as it's a huge topic. Thanks for showing an interest in the channel!
It was really a nice video. Can you please create a video in which the temperature dependence of this measurement is explained in detail? I am working on a Guided Wave Radar and facing problems of instability of measured level when the temperature varies overnight. Thank you in advance.
This is the best video explaining the echo curves, I am having an issue of sudden 100 reading and it got stuck for a long time then recover back to normal. In a vessel that seperates condensate from gas. What do you think?
Thank you. Is the transmitter located in a bridle? Condensation around the top of the probe can cause full range issues. Look at the echo curve, maybe consider false signal suppression if appropriate.
Very good, I haven’t encountered this type of level measurement yet, it’s mostly ultrasonic & pressure at my place of work but it’s always handy to learn something new. Great video though, could I suggest making a video on the commissioning and principles of ultrasonic level measurement? Keep up the good work!
Thanks Lee. Always good to see you comment. Hope you are doing well! What industry do you work I'm Lee? I havent seen an ultrasonic transmitter since I was onshore but will gladly do a video. In fact I'll do it next seems you asked and always comment on my videos. Take care bud and keep a look out.
@@InstrumentationControl I’m doing well thanks hope you are too. I work in the Water industry currently and I’m training to be a commissioning engineer (I was previously and electrician) I have worked in pulp & paper and a brewery too :). I’d love to get offshore! Thanks for that appreciate it, look forward to seeing the video.
@@InstrumentationControl Yeah I’m trying my best to get as much as possible. Are you on the rigs then or wind? Yeah I know a guy who works on the rigs, his rotations are like 2 weeks on 2 off or something like that. Sounds pretty good.
Thank you and glad you enjoy! I have a PLC series that explains some of the wiring types of different types of input cards. Check them out under my PLC play list. I'll be adding to it over time.
Not quite right, Radar relies on DC or Dielectric Constant of the material being measured not density ultrasonic measurement relies on density of material .
My instrumentation teacher in college used this video for one of our labs👌

Wow, thanks!
Very good information, especially the last bits as they will assist troubleshooting a sensor
Very good explanation, please post another video how to set the threshold values to avoid false signal using echo curve mapping method
amazing information and very easy to understand
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, thank you. Can you explain why the echo polarity is opposite at the beginning and ending of the probe?

@@InstrumentationControl it’s awesome to have a decent Instro channel. We’re essentially dirty scientists.
Very useful video, thanks a lot
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the good explanation.
No problem, hope it helped
Very helpful sir 👍
keep making more videos
Thank you
I'm glad you enjoy!
Great explanation again, keep up with the videos👍🏼
Thanks Adam, glad you enjoyed the video!

You will get some great experience commissioning. I always enjoy it! Offshore is great. The time off let's me do these videos.

@@leef2267 Ive been on Gas rigs since 2013. 2 on 3 off, I have done 2 and 2 also though with a different company. Its a great career.

How would you go about calibrating it for precise measurement? Have a GWR on a 30ft oil tank. Tank reading is 20 ft gauged, GWR shows 19ft
You can change your probe offset or play around with your range values if its a static error across the range of the transmitter.
Nice video . Those rosemount Make one?
Thanks. Yes this is based on the Rosemount GWRs but the different manufacturers are very similar.
Yes Rosemount 5600 series or check out
the Yokogawa’s
I'm from the streets and not to many ppl trying to change they lives .... I am. Thanks
Why is begining and ending of the probe negative and level positive?
3 was behind this to find cheap alternative fuel 😂

how i can connect laptop
This will depend on what make and model instrument you are looking at. Look in the product manual for software intergration.
@@InstrumentationControl We do it with a HART/USB interface and Pactware software
