- The first in a series of watercolour basics for beginners, this video is all about your painting supplies. I show you the different kinds of paint, paper and brushes available for painting in watercolor and we get started by painting a simple pebble pattern. Each video in this series begins with some technical chat about watercolour painting, followed by a simple and fun pattern to paint.

What kind of pens did you use at the end to add your details?
I usually use uni-pin fine liners. Sometimes white pens too - I like posca markers and the uni ball signo broad white gel pens.

Sable paint brushes are cruel to the animal. To get the sable hair, they have to catch the animal called a sable, very similar to a stoats, then they kill the animal and strip it of its fur, then they process the fur, and make the sable bristles for the paint brushes.Very expensive paint brushes and very cruel to the animal. 😭😡
