I really appreciate that when Amity suspected Luz was lying to her, instead of having it drag out using some complicated scheme to find the truth, Amity just asked Luz directly what was going on. You just don't see that in tv shows.
Also, minor detail that’s just drenched in characterisation, Amity’s little voice break at the end. At least to my memory, she’s NEVER been panicked enough to break composure so much that her voice buckles but she’s got so much riding now that her world’s about to emphatically change and right at the centre of it all is the girl she loves.

Kikimora's story is going the way I figured it was gonna go for a while now: She's only loyal to Belos because she knows what he can do to her. I get the feeling that she could absolutely be kind, but it also feels like she has this immense desire to be wanted or needed, possibly because of family issues. She's been a disposable pawn the entire time and everyone directed their malice towards her. It almost seems like Belos is trying to create a scapegoat in case anything goes poorly with the ceremony with how the "promotion" details that all it means is she gets to live. I'm super down for a moment where she pulls a Peridot and betrays Belos, but we'll just have to wait and see what the rest of the season has in store for us.

This is a great returning episode to start the second half of season two, it was great! One thing I gotta appreciate is Luz telling Amity about what happened when she made the door portal. Thank god I don’t have to worry about her keeping it a secret from anyone. Just like someone else said, you never see something where a person is upfront about what’s really going on, that’s super rare or not a thing that happens at all. God bless Lumity. Also, I hope Raine isn’t really brainwashed, because sure they felt bad about letting Eda go. Raine did wipe a tear from their face, surely they’re not meaning to do this, I lowkey hope they’re not being fully under Belos’ influence. I’m sure Raine will take a stand against Belos, cuz Belos is gonna have it coming to him when the squad rolls in
Raine got their memory altered, so they don't remember anything that turned them against below or anything to do with the bats or eda
In 6:40 when luz had the flashback abt what her mom said maybe what her mom was saying in her pov is “don’t return there again” which when luzs mom said to stay with her. Luz probably saw that as that her mom doesn’t want her to go back to the demon realm perhaps 🤔

The hope you can ACTUALLY SEE DIE in kikis eyes made my heart break. I said it before when talking about Hunter but they both try so hard to accomplish something they think will be better for them, but they both try so hard and theyre never happy with what they achieve because all they ACTUALLY achieve is another day alive in an abusive and oppressive framework. This season isnt shying away from showing how gritty and horrifying the coven can be and i love it

Little tiny detail, but I like how they've tweaked the design of Amity's pendant to make it clear that it's a round stone in a golden frame and not a crescent moon.
It is a cresent moon!! in some scenes it was just simplified. its still a cresent moon in the intro too btw
@@emilei8589 If you look at the scenes when the pendant is shown up close (Amity talking with Willow on her bed, and especially Amity and Luz talking on the pier after Terra leaves), you can clearly see it's a gold circle with the stone in the centre.

This episode was constantly me going to between me gay panicking about lumity and just emotionally crying about everything else
I just realized that all the things I like from Lumity are actually stuff that happens in my relationship (except the redemption arc, she was always nice to me) and honestly I couldn't feel more lucky
Also, they work through their problems in a healthy manner instead of playing it up for drama. Which is somehow subversive?
I'm afraid of the revelations we got in this episode. Kikimora is really heartless towards her family; kinda felt like Lillith, but where Lillith wanted to make up for her lies and tactics, Kikimora doesn't really care about the others as long as she lives her best life.
Although, Kiki's evil, she is nowhere close to the ways of manipulation and power Terra is. Just when I thought we could have a good coven head, she reveals a cruel nature behind the somewhat old age. When they first introduced her in "Hunting Palismen", I got the idea of a meeting between Terra and Willow, and a sort of potential future for the witchling, something like a mentor and disciple,. But now we know that these two will have a fight in the near future and is not going to be pretty one.
I don't think she is just heartless towards her family. I guess from her perspective, the promotion would justify everything she did before and all the things she went through? Of course we don't know anything, it's just a feeling I'm getting
Glad Kiki is like this, a redemption would ruin her and she wouldn’t be as enjoyable

So I have this thing for unrepentant bitches. I love those types of characters. So I really loved Kiki, even before this episode. I didn’t trust Kiki this episode, but I was willing to see where this went.
I love that Kiki wasn’t lying, she just let her ambition get the better of her at the end. The idea of a promotion something she couldn’t pass up because that means Belos thinks she’s useful.
It adds depth to this one note little menace, while also just making her all the more pathetic. Which somehow makes me love her more? I don’t know how that works but I’m having fun at least.
“What do I get?” “You get… to live.” The delivery! That was savage.
I find it very interesting that Dana chose to show us what Luz heard when her mom was speaking instead of what she actually said.
Notice the posters in Willow's room? I'm thinking Flyer Derby is the new sport that's shown in Any Sport in a Storm. Also, I think that moment where Luz and Amity are sitting comforting each other in the promo is from Reaching Out. Perhaps after Amity tells Luz how much she wants Aladore's approval, or after they try and fail to gain that approval.
Who else loves Eda's embarassed-yet-rageful face at 8:55. You can practically see her teenage self freaking out within her!😂😍

Owl House is Back!!! Whoooo after how many months?, 8 at least since August, really Disney??, Waited soooo long, everyone was getting cobwebs and the world was going nuts, but we survived the owl house drought, and now they're back, If that was hooty's skin and bones, that will probably give me nightmares, and Lumity is back too and they are still growing and being an adorable couple, missed them so much, and Eda and King, glad to see everyone back

there's no way that change in dialogue wasn't intentional. the way it was changed is probably how luz is interpreting those memories of the event, which is just making her fear and anxiety about going back spiral
