Hope you've found the solution. I'm a live sound engineer and have been trying to wrap my head around it. To me it doesnt sound like a cable or mic issue, but more like a sound card acting up, or maybe artifacts from exporting the vid?

Here is what I don’t think people appreciate about your tutorials. They are meant to accessible. That doesn’t mean you can’t paint to a super high standard. Peachy and Andy (from mediocre hobbies) can both paint to a really high standard. But also they can paint to tabletop very quickly and efficiently. It is a rare person who can do both because when you chase the high end paint jobs you tend to lose the batch painting skill in your chase for perfection. Relearning “finished not perfect” Is a very hard thing to do so a painter who can both chase perfection and let go when they need to for efficiency is rare.

Another top episode! For the 2k points armies, if I remember, I think it comes from Fantasy. When I got into WFH, forget which edition, you couldnt use a lord hero in anything less than 2000 points. So 2000 became the de facto norm because it meant you had full access to everything in your army. I full agree though, any point size can be an army!
It's what I like about One Page Rules. As long as both parties agree, you can have any size army you want.

I've got a 500pt tournament at my club tonight! Going all in to win with an all Grot army! 3 killa Kans, 57 Grots and a Warboss who definitely isn't 4 grots in a suit of mega armour..

I think that the very original boxing of the first Rhino kit included 3 of them, but that was very quickly changed to 1 per box. Something similar happened with the original Land Raider kit, at first there were two in the box but by late 1989 I think they were already being sold singly.

@@thepaintingphase I don’t know - Peachy looks enough like a Soviet Motor Rifleman that he could be in danger if your concentration slips.
With the Rogal Dorn tank, it's a matter of principal to me. GW are already charging an horrendous markup. If i'm paying premium prices, I want a premium product that has no cut corners during it's design and manufacturing.
I want a collective of tanks to be a trundle.

Speaking of more points more often. In 9th edition if you bought both the dark angels and blood angels combat patrols (which was a relatively common starter army), you would get over 1k with upgrades now that same list is down to 880 without enhancements.
Guys, thank you that you assemble miniatures during these chat sessions, that Peachy was painting some Eschers ones etc. I just slapped some paint on a bunch of old-school uruk-hai and it's the second or third time that I just listened to you and did something hobby-oriented :)

I've always conceptualized an "army" as the sum of all forces and units working towards a shared overall goal within the same theater. This accounts for the wide variety of ways in which the word gets used, and I think "army group" is a better term for what a lot of the people you mentioned probably think of when they say "army".
Yours has rapidly become one of my favourite channels, and these videos are an absolute standout. For the first time ever, was refreshing my feed hoping to see the next episode drop!!

I have a great memory of meeting Darren Latham too. When I was younger, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my friends went into the Exhibiton Hall in Warhammer World. So there i am, sitting in the Bugman’s with my niece, and who walks in, but Darren Latham. I kind of wanted to approach but he was chatting with some other staff at Warhammer and I didn't really know what I would even say.
Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother anyone in Bugman’s, but she wouldn't stop. I turn and notice Darren looking at me. He gets up and walks over. He made some joke I didn’t remember and asked what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, Darren put down his pint, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of Bugman’s. Chill guy, really nice about it.
He’s a King amongst Princes. 😂🤣😂
As it works out, your episodes come out on the same night I go for a game of 40k from a local club. I listen to them in the car (1 hour round trip) and really enjoy having my ears primed for hobby chat. Keep it up, glad to see you growing.

gaming table size: used to be 8'x4', as thats the size the sheets of plywood etc come in - at some point it shrunk a bit to make it easier to fit in a more normal house

It's a bit pricey, but I've been thinking about using a Sister Dogmata as the Ko-Iron Prima Materis and a pair of Pious Vornes as her eviscerator-armed bodyguards. We'll see if I actually do it at some point!

Did exactly the same thing in IKEA! Was in the market for a dining table and so had an eye out for one that was 4 foot wide. Absolutely none of them. 3 foot 6 was as close as I could find.

Regards to table size, when they changed the recommended minimum size to 60x44 for 9ed, they actually state in the warhammer community article it should be playable on most dinning room tables now... I wasn't able to find a single dinning table that wide when I was specifically looking for one, most were around the 3 foot marker like you said but even the larger ones would max out at 42".
Most first edition from start to end was 3rd ed 40k. An army starts at 2 squads and a leader.

my solution for a table was to use standalone garage shelving at each corner of a 6ft x 4ft board, it also doubles as terrain storage
also pat jokes about cutting tanks in half as a wreck, but i've done exactly that using rhinos, i've got 4 rhinos that were missing parts that i got second hand and i've painted them all up as ultramarine wrecks
I'm currently working on some models to supplement the GW Gaunts Ghosts for various 'plays as' kill teams. Can't wait for pt 2 of the Guard regiments.
The Necromunda Underhive Wars game is sooo good but I can't believe they haven't released the other gangs as DLC.
In 2nd edition you'd very commonly see hanes of 3000pts. 1500 was pretty standard for 3rd thru 7th edition then it went all over the shop after that...
These feel like they're 20 minutes, time really flies. Enjoyable stuff.

Some of the 2 foot square tables they have for skirmish and demo games at Salute each year are beautiful, I've always wanted to build and own a bunch of those as they easily fit on one of those ikea tables that fold down to 6" wide.
There were three Rhinos in a box when they came out, all for the princely sum of £9.99.

Missed Salute this year sadly, though took my lad last year and he really enjoyed it, I’ve heard there was loads more this year. Will definitely try to make it next year, especially now Fest doesn’t have the studio staff, that really was the main draw for me, not sure what I’d fill my time there as it now (queuing probably 😂).

I loved the Battle of Glazers farm, and the updated version. I play it a few times a year with my Praetorians. So much fun!
My “army” is what I’m using to play the game. Be it 10 models for Infinity or 100ish for AoS.
One thing I’ve personally found difficult is when people bump the size for local events by a few hundred points. Oh you built your force for 2k because that’s the rulebook recommendation? Pity we play at 2300 so you don’t have an army for events without buying and painting more.
Just on the table discussion, I have 2 'pop up' 2x6ft tables I just push together. Got them in homebase a few years ago. They fold away nicely too.

A 2000 point army used to be standard in 40K version 2. I haven't played in decades, though.

Really?! Oh my god. Amazing. I think we'll have to buy out their entire stock.
When my uncle passed, he didn't have any kids so all us niblings (which is the gender-neutral word for nieces and nephews) ended up his heirs. I tried to be responisble with most of it, but one thing I did was buy a really nice, really big dining table and chairs for role-playing, gaming, and dinner parties. It's huge, over 8' long with all the leaves in - but it's only 3'6" wide.
Although - the "standard folding table" one finds in community halls and conference centres and so on, here in Canada, is 2' by 4', so you could use three of those to make a 6'x4' gaming table.
What do you mean prolapse pink isn't marketable... This is my level of humour and I'm here for it. Great pod as always guys.

Peachy , as a biker/wargamer I can relate. Le old GW plastic case with 3 foam trays was the perfect size for my top case. That's where I used to carry my metal miniature ;-)
Really enjoyed this video guys. I agree an army is whatever you have to play the game you've arranged, I don't mind 2000pts being what the community is aiming for these days it's always good to have a goal to keep motivated

Table size is an interesting topic. I'm lucky enough to have space and found that the only place I could get 6x4 was for outdoor venue tables
according to google, the collective noun for a group of tanks is either a unit, a clank, or a clatter

What I reckon you guys should do is talk to Hasslefree miniatures, or some other small company and get yourselves as fantasy chaos marauders / or 40k traitor guardsmen characters. If you went for version with specific patron gods, Geoff would be Khornate (military) Pat Tzeentch (technological camera wizardry) and Peachy Slaanesh. (we all know why, but the less said the better)
To a degree. I always though they should institute a proper supply chain mechanic, for ammo & fuel. As frankly you can have a small powerfully ranged force & 9/10 you'll be victorious. A supply chain mechanic would be a great leveler to any mechanised & ranged units.

Another great video to pass the time driving from Glasgow to the Land where they call each other Marra. For my sins, I sold cars for a French, lion themed cars company for about 10 years. Some salesmen would regularly forget the fancy names of colours and seek very quick advice when a customers attention was elsewhere.
"Canine Phallus Red" and "Cunnilingus Grey" were some of my favourites 👌

Speaking of bikes (MC), I ride a 2010 600cc Honda Hornet now (used to ride 750 '88 Magna) and I can bring a 2k army (or 4k, depending on the models) in a battlefoam magnet rack bag that rests on the seat behind me, with a strap going around my body. It just barely fits a storm raven if it's placed diagonally. Can fit in books as well, though they're so heavy that we just use our phones instead.
The naming of paints had me absolutely rolling!

in the 5th edition WHFB rules book (i think it was) Rick Priestley said that the 'army' you have on the table represents bigger numbers. Even tho your unit is 25 swordsmen it is supposed to represent much more. And if it was 'to scale' (especially the archers) you would need to play in a car park.
But I'm happy to agree 1500/2000 pts is an army :)

For the defintion of army to me that typically means an infantry/calvary type unit and someone to lead them. My friends and I always played this way because the leader was always fun to paint but the table always looked garbage with out some type of calvary or infantry unit.
When it comes to army size I remember when I returned to the hobby in 2010 that Warhammer World and a lot of UK tournaments were running 1500pt events but I think in America their events were either 1750 or 2000! There was definitely more on the table and I even used to see articles popping up on the likes of BoLS where they'd marvel at just how different the game was at 1500. Not being able to take 'all' your army, having to make tactical choices of what you could bring because of the limitations - it was just a different way of playing.
Then, I think because of Escalation and Imperial Knights coming into the game, Warhammer World events had to up their limit to 1750, it may even have got to 1875, to allow these more expensive forces in. Points values may have gone up too. But when the indexes came in points at these events went down again but with 8th everything went up in price so we ended up with 2000 and that seems to be consistent globally. That could be just my own theory, but historically some of that happened.
My only other observation about what constitutes an army is for Armies in Parade [hopefully something you will all take part in this year?]. I'm a big fan of anyone in the hobby taking part even if it's just a Warhammer Underworlds warband. I once saw someone enter Guilliman Vs Magnus, because they couldn't finish their planned bigger display, but the criticism they got because so many people decided this did not constitute an army! They almost decided not to bother.
AoP is the biggest [and best] hobby event in the world. The only problem is that often it's seen as something akin to Golden Demon. Yes there are prizes and the winners create things of fantastic creativity and skill. But, 1000's more enter who do not win a prize but just want to parade their army and their own hobby exploits along like-minded people. By any measure it's the epitome of Peachy's approach to painting - showing how great army painting can be when you see all your spacemen/women/xenos filth arranged.
What font is the "An Army" in the video in? I would love to experiment with that font more.
I loved the Glazer's Farm 2 scenario. One of my favourite of the more recent WDs. Keep it in a super special place with the one that contains the updated 8th edition Inquisitor rules. One day I plan to play it myself. Don't really have Orks so I was going to replace them with a Cultists, Mutants, Traitor Guard, Poxwalkers, and friends (so my Lost and the Damned horde).
An army is just one model, Sly Marbo. He’s not just in the jungle, he is the jungle.
