The whole first season they complained about not having any budget but they did loads of extravagant sets and performances for nobody
I honestly liked that Mercedes didn’t assume that Kurt was gay in the beginning of the show. She thought of him as a nice and kind boy and a good friend to confide to in the club. Yes she could have seen the signs that Kurt wasn’t interested in her but I liked that she stood up for herself and Kurt when Rachel and Tina were giving her a gay-vention. That’s why I am glad Kurt told Mercedes first. They’re best friends. I wish their friendship was expressed more into the show.

Mr. Shue had no right to suspend Marley. She had an eating disorder so she may be uncomfortable wearing a seashell bikini, I would not have dressed up as Katy Perry, but I wouldn’t have worn a seashell bikini ever especialy not at school in front of my teacher and classmates

Honestly, if she didn’t get suspended from the group she definitely should’ve gotten into trouble. I’m not saying that she shouldn’t have had the right to feel insecure but she could’ve made an adjustment to the outfit or something. Idk. I feel like when everyone posts this comment it’s just super one sided. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think mr schue is a good teacher at all but Marley was in the wrong. She could’ve just told him she felt uncomfortable instead of trying to prove a point. I’m super ranting now omg.
I don't think she should have been suspended for not wearing revealing clothing, but I can't understand why she would wear Katy when she's supposed to be wearing GaGa. There's plenty of conservative GaGa outfits and it was literally the entire point of the assignment

Unpopular opinion: Santana singing if I die young was one of the best performances on the show... even with the breakdown her voice was strong and it was beautiful.
Plus, Santana singing Mine by Taylor Swift is one of those covers that does not only better than the original version but also shows that Santana character was not all incomparable to Rachel's in terms of vocals

The Rachel Berry character was written for Lea Michele and she got in a car crash before auditioning, still went in and the pianist missed out a part of her audition song and she made him go back to the start.
I am still mad at how they ruined Tinas character.
Also, Katy perry should just give all her songs to Darren Criss instead of singing them herself
It's weird, because I've started rewatching glee for what feels like the 100th time, and I noticed that Santana and Brittany's romantic relationship is brought up in the first season when Santana says "sex is not dating" and Brittany answers with "if it was, then Santana and I would be dating" in the beginning of episode 13: sectionals. it's glossed over, but it does build some sort of foundation for Santana's sexuality, especially as she almost looks embarrassed when Brittany said it, while Brittany was oblivious and doesn't think about it. I doubt it was intentional, but Santana's sexuality is probably one of the most thought through plots in glee

When Finn sang More Than a Woman to Rachel in the disco episode , it was one of the most romantic / sweetest moments of the show .
Sue’s obsession with Klaine is the most random and funniest (also borderline creepy) storyline on Glee. Not to mention her big shrine devoted to Porcelain and Mrs Porcelain.
Can we just thank Dianna Agron for giving a character who was a teenage girl who was a devout Christian who got pregnant and lost it all, a personality even if it was against Ryan Murphy's wishes

Holly Holiday should have taken over the new directions - she gave everybody a chance to shine and get to pick their favorite songs. Best substitute teacher ever. She engages more with what every new direction member needed and not focus on just one person. She’s so fucking cool.
It would have been nice to see her get some character development for sure, but that woman would have been a terrible teacher in a permanent position. She shined and was cool because she could walk away at the end of the day.
I hate how the writers screwed Tina over and made her into such an unlikeable character and she barely got any solos.... And I’m pretty sure half of her solos were cut off by her crying, the school bell, etc Jenna Ushkowitz can SING yet they did her dirty
The crazy thing is that neither Santana or Brittany's actress were supposed to be main characters; Brittany's actress Heather was hired to teacher Jenna Ushkawitz and Chris Colfer the Single Ladies dance and everyone liked her so much that she was hired.

My glee opinions 1. Rachel wasn’t as bad as everyone said. 2. They should have talked more about Rachel’s issues with being adopted and feeling abandoned by her mother. 3. Quinn deserved wayyyy more songs and duets with puck. 4. Mr.shoe is creepy af but still cared. 5. The quarterback episode where they talk about Finns death was the best episode they ever did. 6. Blane went way down hill and should not have ended up with Kurt. 7. Rachel and Marleys New York State of mind was one of the best songs. 8. Marley was the only good member of the new cast. 9. Mercedes and Rachel didn’t need to be enemies, they could have been friend. 10. Artie had no personality. 11. Sue was a very hurt woman with issues and should not have been allowed to work in a school

Also a terrible thing Mr Shue did was on the twerking episode when sue tells Mr shue *that he sung a song down the corridor while 10 minors twerked down the corridor* and then she said *that if he Stopped twerking, unique could get her own toilet* and mr shue was like *nah, I'll carry on twerking*
I never found anything wrong with them twerking cuz it's just a dance move and we should stop sexualizing also they were just bad at it, but I digress. But he really just didn't give a flying fuck about those new kids and Unique's very real issues
I think the reason why they ditched the new characters was because they developed a new plot after Corey died. He was suppose to take over the glee club with the new kids then Rachel was suppose to win a tony or something and come home and get married with Finn and that was the end. Then when he died they took the show in a totally different direction.

I liked Santana but let’s not act like she’s was saint. All characters made mistakes and learned from it. It’s character growth. But making excuses for one character while hating on others for their past behavior is stupid.

The Glee version of If I Die Young is better than the original. Mostly because the emotion that Naya put in it.
Well the emotion was actually real, that episode was mostly shot in 1 take and when she broke down while singing, it wasn't in the script, but they left it in because of how raw and emotional it was.

Brittany had the best one-liners on the show. The funniest character on Glee along with Sue and Puck. Especially when she explained how she became “Brittany S. Pierce - Brittany Spierce”.
And also another one: Stop the violence xD as Quinn and Santana were fighting.
Mercedes was the rock of Glee. When Quinn was kicked out by her parents, Mercedes offered her a place to stay at her home. She was the first friend Kurt came out to. She took Kurt to her church after Burt was taken to the hospital. She consoled Rachel after Santana demeaned Rachel in season 5. Back in season 1, Quinn gave Mercedes more confidence in herself after the Cheerios led her to going on a crash diet.
She let go of her competitiveness during the Diva off and acknowledged that Rachel is her equal in the same episode that Santana called Rachel out.
In real life, after Cory passed away, during the set of season 5, Amber Riley was known as the rock of the cast and lifted their spirits up.
I like to pretend Glee ended after Season 4 cuz everything that happened afterwards was just too whacky even for Glee standars
Mercedes and Santana were robbed. They should have won Breadstix in the “Duets” episode. They blew every other duets out of the water. River Deep Mountain High is one of my favorites.

Finn was one of the worst characters. He constantly had one arc of toxic masculinity, he thought he had to dominate and lead in every situation. He cannot dance his singing didn't deserve that pedestal he was placed on. He would take down other guys like Sam and Blaine cause he was threatened. He only cared about himself and wouldn't care for Kurt when he was bullied.

Listen, Rachel WAS a trashy character but MY GOD LEA MICHELE CAN SING. like, all her renditions of Broadway songs made me fall in love with musicals. 13 yo me was sHOOK and for that I'm thankful. (also her and Idina's rendition of Poker Face is easily one of my favorite duets of the whole show)
Also wanna say that Quinn and Mercedes should’ve had a bigger friendship in the show and I’m so pissed that they never did a duet nor did they have any major plot lines beyond S1.

I don't disagree, but I'd have to say that's because their problems were outside of the glee club. Mike's were with his parents and Mercedes' were internal.
- Kurt did not actually date Starchild. In fact, their friendship was a huge threat to Blaine back in Ohio.
- The Britney episode was the first one. I remember because Mr. Schue kept vetoing them singing Britney until Brittney had her little awakening after the dentist visit.
- General opinion: Glee 2.0 (the second batch of kids) were too similar to the original cast for people to latch onto. Glee 3.0 (season 6's class) was far more interesting and unique.
- Personal opinion: Darren Criss's musical contributions kept the show afloat.
- Personal opinion: Season 5.5 (the strictly New York part of the season) was much better than people give it credit for.
- Personal opinion: Tina deserved better. Jenna Ushkowitz is a fucking treasure.
The troubletones shouldve won with their mashup of I will survive/survivor over the new directions' long ass Michael Jackson medley

Artie was THE male voice, Kevin is a high (as fudge) tenor, with one of the best vocal flexibility to do runs and octave jumps on the show, that`s why you would always get the Mercedes/Artie duo harmonies, because they both can sing the house down... BUUUUUT!!! Kevin didn´t have attractive features, he is not tall nor muscular (well he is now, but whatevs), proving once again that beauty beats the shit out of talent. P.S. Kurt and Unique are counter-tenors so they are not part of my point xD

Artie Abrams deserves better come on. Whenever he gets a chance to sing solos, he kills them. They wrote his character so poorly after season 1 tbh and I am so mad.
And don't get me started on how they did Quinn dirty, all her story lines were crappy. She had genuine friendship with Mercedes and Artie and they just throw it all away because Rachel had to be her close friend. 🙃

Glee ruined Coach Beiste by jettisoning Unique. Unique was their trans representation, and Unique wasn’t in season 6, so they needed trans representation and decided Coach Beiste was expendable in that regard. And made it so it seemed like Cooter BEAT THE FEMININE SIDE OUT OF HIM. Beiste was written very comfortable as a woman UNTIL they wrote the transition storyline. And then they brought Unique BACK to basically usher in Beiste’s self-acceptance as a trans person, so WHAT WAS THE POINT
Actually, they didn't made Beste trans because they needed a trans.
The actor come out as trans, and start the transition.
So either Beste come along and was also trans man, or the actor would be out.
I'am the new Supreme ? Dot-Marie Jones is not trans. She’s a cis lesbian. She looks exactly as she did before Beiste transitioned. The actors who played Myron and Sunshine are trans but didn’t come out until after the show ended
YESS!! They could've done that SO MUCH BETTER!... Why didn't they deal with that when Unique had that whole thing about going to the boys bathroom?? Explore it more there.. bring that storyline up there.. You had a character that was already set up that way, why rewrite a character that was ALREADY so well-established??? I don't get it?? It's sooo frustrating!
Eyebulb I’ll be honest, I’m anticipating “You can have more than one trans person in a cast, you know.” And to that, I say, as I said, Unique was not a series regular in season 6. The whole point of transitioning Beiste was filling a void of a corner they pushed themselves into. They weren’t adding trans representation, they were replacing it.
Honestly I love Santana!! One of my favourite characters, along with Blaine! I genuinely love her character and her story! Her voice is also so underrated!
In season two when Jessie and Rachel sang 'Rolling in the Deep' was amazing. I love Jessie no matter what, he really can sing. Their cover of 'Blame it on the Alcohol' was so good also. ' Jesse's girl' was so good. 'Gives You Hell' was amazing as well

When you realize that Lea briefly dated Matthew Morrison before Glee, the episode where Rachel has a crush on Will makes a little more sense.

The ironic thing about Rachel is that the majority of the Glee audience treats her exactly like the other characters in the show do.
They call her annoying and self centered and complain that she gets too many solos, exactly like in the show.
I think in the show's narrative we just have to remember that she wants this more than anyone else, and she works harder than anyone else.
I'm not going to defend any of her actions past season three, but you've gotta admit like... she's right a lot of the time.
Plus in season one she's the only one to tell Finn Quinn's baby isn't his. It was for selfish reasons, but the rest of the team was keeping it from him for selfish reasons.
Laura B one thing I admire is her persistence and her work ethic but yeah I have an unfavorable opinion of Rachel. I honestly thought Mercedes and Tina should have shined more.
I think that a lot of the Rachel hate pisses me off because of how hypocritical and one sided it is. The people that despise Rachel love Santana. They were equally awful in my opinion but I also like them both and will acknowledge that they were trash people for a long time
Girl Fieri I don’t like both Rachel and Santana as much as they both have talent. Santana is a bully even after she called Rachel out in S5 felt that it still shows how horrible she was.

Mike was one of the most underrated characters and I'll never forgive how Ryan Murphy did dirty on Quinn.
Santana, Kurt, Brittany, and Sue carried the show. Then Blaine came and improved it when we didn't know it needed improving. The other characters were great too.
I absolutely LOVE Rocky Horror but I hated the glee episode, I didn't like the fact the John Stamos' character was a part of it (love John, didn't like the character) but did love that the original Brad and Eddie were involved. I also loved the fact that the most 'pure' and 'pristine' character, Emma, was a massive fan of Rocky Horror.
Also, (love the beetles) but absolutely loved Kurt's 'I want to hold your hand' and thought it was better, especially emotion wise (considering he sang it for his dad).
And Santana's 'If I die young' always makes me cry and her emotion and not being comfortable with affection is so relatable to me. She is my favourite female character, with Sue, Brit, and Emma following.
Also, does anyone else love the fact that you can see Blaine fall for Kurt when he sings Blackbird?! It is one of my favourite scenes in the entire series.
