    Nice Knobs! They do look like OEM! Do the tilt Dave, do the tilt, "Dave Knows How!" for real.

      I did get an old broken hydraulic cylinder from a dump trailer. its to long for the tilt as is so I may cut the shaft and cut the housing fabricate some ends and make it into the tilt cylinder. its on my to do list. video to follow.

    alright, I think I'm finally able to tackle this job for my 2013 Kubota. Thanks.

      @@daveknowshow I'm sure, I'm just a little unsure about that spool valve. Surely they make one that has a control lever that moves in the other direction so it's not bumping the seat and fender, right?

    • @daveknowshow

      @@travnat1 most of these spool valves the handle can be screwed in multiple different places. not everyone mounts theirs at the seat like mine is. most are mounted to the R.O.P SYSTEM on the drivers right side. the handles can come straight out and are easily used from that position. the hoses are not hidden when you install it that way. had I used a three spool valve instead of this two spool valve I would have likely had to install it to the R.O.P in some ways I wish I had installed a three spool valve because honestly I could use a third spool valve to operate a small dump trailer I been wanting to build. as it is I will likely add a single spool valve some place on the tractor to control a future small dump trailer. there are lots of options for spool valves. some are made such that they can be added to later by stacking the valves together to gain two three four or more spool valves on the same circuit and not have to run more hoses. my spool valve is a two spool valve and its non expandable. I cant add any spool valves to it. any I add will be separate from these two and require more hydraulic lines to plumb them in.

    Good to know Agri Supply honored the cylinder return. Man, Dave, that was a lot of work but it surely paid off nicely. I bet you're glad HLT install is behind you. Congrats, and thanks for the step-by-step walk through. Now, I'm asking myself.....do I want to take that on? I'm still contemplating. Great videos.

      well if you do try it and you get stuck and have a question I'm here to answer if I'm able and know the answer. just ask.

    I think the knobs look great.

      Sloth Bear thanks I ended up liking them a lot myself and plan to just keep these. brass would look flashy but brass would be very cold to handle in winter.

    Dave, did you do something to your 3pt? Mine bucks like crazy.

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      nope didnt do a thing. however i do not raise it in short increments i pay attention to the numbers on the lift handle and raise it to the specific spot by positioning the lever directly to the spot i want it. small lifting increments will always be jerky to a degree. its smoother to lift past the point you want it at and then lower it back down a touch. takes practice to get use to it. also its smoother while traveling with hst type tractors. hope that makes sense to you.

    Hey Dave. Hope you’re doing well. My question is this. In the end, what was the overall cost to add the 2 remotes. Thanks?

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's a great question honestly I have no idea. I would guess about 450.00 maybe less. it was well worth every penny and if I had to do it over I would have installed a three spool valve instead of this two spool valve. as it is I have a top link control a tilt link control but with a third spool valve I could build a small dump trailer to pull behind and then have the third spool valve used to control the dump function of that trailer. I may add a third spool valve in another location but it would have been easier and less expensive to install it from the start.

    • @jerrymerritt3277
      @jerrymerritt3277 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      daveknowshow that seems affordable. I have one remote already so adding 2 more should be plenty. I hope.

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jerrymerritt3277 for sure I had always heard 3 remotes was the best option. I did not listen and went with two now I'm kicking myself.

    Hi Dave. Did you ever find a reasonable option for a hydraulic tilt or side link?

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      not yet but honestly I have not really been looking for hard. I need something that has a load locking valve to keep it locked in position. I been pondering building my own but buying one already built may be just as cheap. just has not been a priority since I been to sick to really use the tractor much these days. I may look into it over the next few weeks. if I come up with an idea I will do a video for sure.

      Dave, One more question. The fittings for the spool valve i am assuming are SAE fittings, but the ones for the block under the floor panel that you had to install the extender and the "T" for, were they metric or SAE?

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sae and I believe those are NPT "NATIONAL PIPE THREAD" size and the others are called "jic" fittings, the ones on the rear that the quick connects hook to are called "bulk head connectors" any local kubota dealer can tell you the exact fittings. also a "j8" fitting is a fitting that changes from NPT too JIC and comes in a straight, ninty degree, fourty five degree, or many other variants.

    Did you say you bought the hydraulic top link from agri supply ?

    • @daveknowshow
      @daveknowshow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes I did however I was not happy with the quality of the chrome long term. it rusted pretty quick. looks like its chrome plated instead of chrome moly. so I ordered a new one from another company I will be doing a video on that soon.

      if you are close by me I'd be happy to come help you through it. heck you can likely figure it out on your own. check my video on understanding tractor hydraulics. it explains a lot about how the hydraulic circuit works which will help you get it done.
