Walking in any Chinatown around the world is a must BUT definitely my favorite one is Bangkok. The lights, smells, alleys, gold shops, food and the PEOPLE. Great video Chris Hi 🇨🇦 from Samut Prakan ☺️
@RetiredWorkingForYou would love to catch up when I'm in town in January, downloaded the app and some great suggestions. I'm moving to KL full time for work in a few days
Good morning from Chicago Chris. Wow crazy busy in Chinatown. I'm waking up with my sweet wife and watching your video. We are watching and making plans for our trip to Thailand for a list of things to do. Chinatown is a top choice, looks like a fun place. Love the energy of so many people. Thanks Great Video
Just back from Bangkok after 4 long years away. Your site has provided a much needed pressure release and enabled my wife and I to stay connected to our wanderlust and dreams of travel. This year was a scouting trip for our 'gap year retirement' plan: Prior to retirement in a couple of years here, my wife and I would like to live in SEAsia for an extended stay of travel, food, drink, friends, language & cultural immersion. VN [Vung Tau or Hanoi] is leading the pack with Thailand nipping at its heels. Besides an existing network of friends in Laos, Viet Nam & Thailand, a few YT channels--yours included--are helping us form a plan. I just wanted to say that your vlog on the Bangkok Seafood restaurant on Sukhumvit was a pearl of great price amongst the many pearls you've proffered. We were in Bangkok for 4 days and ate there twice! We feasted on seafood like a couple of King Neptunes [although let's be honest: it would make much more sense for his reign if he ate turf instead of surf]. Either way, Cheers and many, many thanks for that insight. Keep up the hard and helpful work, brother!
Do you believe it or not, 50+ years ago, Yaowarat was very quiet at night. After 8 pm, practically all shops closed. There were no food stalls in those days. Yaowarat was/is famous for gold shops. There are more than 10 gold shops lining along the street. I believe that Yaowarat began to offer street foods at night 20+ years ago when Princess Sirindhorn began to officially preside over the Chinese New Year celebration on this street. Yaowarat area is the world's biggest China Town. BTW, Thai donuts you mention is called Pa Tong Koh in Thai.
Bangkok's Chinatown is my favorite Chinatown. I lived within walking distance from here for about half a year... loved the street food. Can't wait to get back.
My wife and I will be in Yaowarat for 3 days next week, before finally heading back to Melbourne, Australia after a 4 week holiday. Can’t wait to explore Chinatown after seeing this great video. Thx Chris
Totally agree with the fun comments from friends & fellow fans here... loving this list, thank you Chris! To your request for top-3 predictions, here's my guess: #3: Soi Cowboy and Soi Nana (not just Nana Plaza but all the new eateries and bars); #2: Long-tail khlong tour, and #1: Chatuchuk Weekend Market.
Love China town anywhere. Back alleys are the best places to be! Some amazing finds. There is hope for Mark Wiens, he was in Cebu Philippines yesterday, said he was on his way to meet up with you Chris. Another great video, looking forward to your number one!
It's painful to watch you eat Vegemite like that 🤣 great to see Australia on the list. Awesome video, Chris! Making me so excited to return to Thailand next week 🥰
Great Video as always, top 3 countries I guess is US, UK and Thailand. No idea of what the top 3 places are but cannot wait to find out. Maybe Pad Krapow lady Number 1
Bangkok Chinatown must be a must when traveling to Thailand. To spend a whole day in that era, daytime and evening and in the night, Chinatown has everything. just ordering street food and sitting at small tables on the pavement and feeling the atmosphere, people, lights, smells, the chaos of it all, It is always wonderful to come back here, and every time there are new experiences even if you have been there several times.. food is an important part of life, just love it, can`t wiat to be back .. :)
I'm not sure what the locations will be, but I'd guess the viewership is 3) UK, 2) Thailand, and 1) US. Seriously, you've included all of the places that I'd add, so I can't wait to see what the three best spots are. Then get up here to Chiang Mai and let me buy you a Leo!
Hello Criss, this is the Resin Cajun from the bayou Outside of New Orleans. I have been following you on Retired Working for you. got up one day and here I am in Bangkok. checked in to the C House Hostal and about to start my adventure. So put Mardi Grass aside and party here in Bangkok.
On the mango, there's something good about a very ripe mango, but .... a crispy mango, just turning yellow orange, that is stunning. Then green mango, with salt, curry powder, vinager as a dip, ...
Wat Traimit is another Chinatown temple that's impressive. Has the large, solid gold Buddha. As for your Top 3, I have already predicted Ruam Sab's Pad Krapow lady. That leaves two more. The Jim Thompson House Museum would have to be. Years ago when Mark did his list I gave him a hard time for not including it. Turns out, he didn't even know about it. There's also a possibility you could have a rooftop bar, so I'm saying your #1 might be a combo: Phed Mark for meetup and dinner with Mark , followed by a short walk to Octave Rooftop, where you will treat Mark to drinks. Did you include massages in your list? They would be in my top ten.
Yes! I love Bangkok CTown! I actually needed to visit the embassy there but they had not yet announced their reopening so all I could do was call the number they had posted on the wall just outside of the entry gate. Oh well, I ate and shopped my way around! Amazing place.
I’m loving this Chris!! So glad to see Haley with you on this video….gotta love her & I adore her!! Cannot wait to see China Town in February of 2023🎉🎉🎉
Well my first winter away was going to be Mexico but I'm starting to think Thailand. Chinese food got me interested in Thai food and your channel. Thanks for opening my eyes Chris.🙏🙏🙏
Great honour that UK is in the top 3! BTW congrats to Aussies for winning against Tunisia today although shame you guys didn't quite make to the top 3.
Yay! Was waiting for Oz to turn up on the list.😀 I resisted the urge to look ahead. I'm a latecomer to this series, but man, what a phenomenal job you've done on it, Chris! Can't wait to get back to Bangkok. You're an amazing ambassador for Thailand!

No.3: Mahanakon skywalk
No.2: Jodd Fairs market
No.1: Chatuchak market
One of the best and most interesting neighborhoods in Bangkok and now so easily accessible by MRT Blue Line!
We stay four nights at a hotel in Yaowarat - a not forgotten part of our holiday.
Haha Haley is always so happy. What a cute life they have created in Thailand
If there is one truth in the world, it's go to Yaowarat super hungry, cuz you are gonna eat more than you plan! Keep em coming, brother!
Vibrant is an understatement. People living what lifes all about there. Food, people, entertainment you got it all.

Yes I don't remember much about Chinatown in Bangkok 35 years ago apart from the gold shops and at night there was nothing going on
Thought it would be a bit closer to number 1, good to see you Haylee. Hopefully the river will be number 1.
Bangkok's Chinatown is my favorite Chinatown. I lived within walking distance from here for about half a year... loved the street food. Can't wait to get back.
2 thumbs up for Yaowarat & Soi Nana

Chinatown that everyone must come to, suitable for the 4th place.✌️🇹🇭
my humble version of gourmet food ... this little thai donut or youtiao.... eat it hot with some cheese on top.... heavenly 😊 ...
Sounds great!
Great Video as always, top 3 countries I guess is US, UK and Thailand. No idea of what the top 3 places are but cannot wait to find out. Maybe Pad Krapow lady Number 1

Im so excited to taste Chinese food in China Town for sure.
We have been going to BKK for over 26 years and I lived there with my husband for 3 years.
Chinatown is a favorite. Have enjoyed your list.

It’s not just the maturity, it’s the type that makes the different tastes.
Heading to BKK for the first time in July. Rewatching your top 25 now! Thank you 🙏
My fave street in my fave city! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Yaowarat must be so much easier to reach now that the MRT goes through it.

Love the daily uploads! You’re probably exhausted but we loveeeee the daily uploads 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Woah I could see some shots from the latest iPhone 14! Great way to implement this
Shark Fin, yes a topic to discuss.
If they used the whole shark instead of throwing back the live animal without fins that would be ok.
Yes! I love Bangkok CTown! I actually needed to visit the embassy there but they had not yet announced their reopening so all I could do was call the number they had posted on the wall just outside of the entry gate. Oh well, I ate and shopped my way around! Amazing place.
