I learn a lot from these analysis vids. I may or may not practice "being EW" in my head when I see a look I like on public transportation. I particularly like Z's mix of those browns and that denim blue. As for SJP, Lady has always known exactly how to wear the clothes she wears, and I love her. Best to you and family!❤

Now I KNOW you’ll appreciate this: I loved the Sex and The City series so much, my husband bought me the special edition cds: the entire series-pink velour in a plexiglass box-for our anniversary which he presented to me with a small custom made lemon coconut cake (my favorite) on a white porcelain plate with a white cloth napkin while watching the sun go down on our balcony. He’s a romantic too!

I love these videos! The small details that take style from "blah" to elevated is one of the things that intrigues me the most about fashion. It's also reassuring to breakdown celebrity outfits and see that they're not doing anything super dramatic or revolutionary that can't be achieved by a normal person.

P.S. For style I love Tilda Swinton - I don't dress like her, but I love her androgynous style and the way she mixes color (or not) in their outfits. She wears a huge range of different styles, but whatever outfit she wears is unmistakably Tilda. (I believe Tilda uses she/her pronouns - apologies if I'm mistaken.)

The other thing that elevates these women’s’ looks is that they are all super skinny. If they were a size 16, or even a 12, they would just look normal.

I’m around the same age as SJP, and I just have no idea how she’s still rocking high heels. I’m in pain for a week after half a day in heels 😥
This is interesting. My mother always told me that heels made her back happier. Now, I’m forty-three and I always feel BETTER wearing heels. 🤔

Truth is, if you are not a celebrity and wearing sweat pants with a dressy shoe in a Midwest state, it just looks ridiculous.
Anybody not SJP wearing her clothes, look very much off.
SJP to me, and she’s a few years older than me, so I can relate to her, has always had a costume like look.
Like the early SATC episodes, where I think she learned that crazy costume like style, and has just stayed on that path.
I absolutely do not see chic or classy when see or think of her. I don’t see edgy either.
You look the same in an outfit no matter where you wear it. It doesn't look good on a person and then suddenly ridiculous on the same person because the backdrop changes. So what you mean is that *other people" in a Midwest state think you look ridiculous in a certain outfit.
If you care about what other people think, then just follow whatever is 'acceptable' in that place, and forget external advice and inspiration. If you don't care about what they think, then it doesn't matter where you are: you are free to wear what you like and what you feel good in.
As for the idea that anybody who is not SJP looks 'off' in her clothes - I doubt that the vast majority of people would look off in a sweatshirt with leggings and sneakers. Once again, it's just about confidence and being yourself, feeling relaxed about having fun with fashion - and not obsessing over some invisible rulebook created by others.
If you think that people have to look "classy," (an adjective which is literally derived from an elitist class system, and then infused with gender stereotypes when applied to women), or shouldnt look "crazy" (an adjective derived from people who live with mental illness), then you do you: but remember these things are subjective, even when you do buy into them.
Your pregnancy is going so fast! Please rest and keep your feet up !
