    This video is so scary. It is beautiful, but a misterious place. I am not so brave to do this trip. I enjoyed the videos. Thanks!

    wow! incredible trip...I am happy to be sitting here while you do the walk...I think of the guys who built this place...it must have been done to get a dam in place...seems to be no other reason...thanks :)

    In 1901 it became obvious that workers at the hydroelectric power plants at Chorro Falls and Gaitanejo Falls needed a walkway to cross between the falls, to provide for transport of materials, and for the inspection and maintenance of the channel. Construction of the walkway took four years and it was finished in 1905. In 1921 King Alfonso XIII crossed the walkway for the inauguration of the dam Conde del Guadalhorce and it became known by its present name. Wikipedia

    In some places, it looks as if the pathway is so thin that it could barely support a person, or not a heavy person at least!

    Great Tour, how long it takes to do the whole trip?

    The pathway ends where this film ends, or, from where my 2nd film starts. It all depends on where you staRTED FROM. In my case i started from where this film ends. It is now a one way walk. You have to turn back and walk the way you've come.

    If you mean the walkway itself then... however quickly you want to walk it. It's about 400 meters in length i guess.

    @77and just to rephrase it - 50m used for double rope absail so the effective length would be 25m, that's still ok?
    and thanks for all your answers!

    @2704heatherwolf I suppose technically you can. It is only illegal to walk the rail lines not the actual walkway itself.

    @margoqml Yes you can abseil down. In fact a lot of people do that. The main section is about 500 metres in total.

    @77and - when you say this is a one way walk, is there any chance of absailing at the end of the pathway instead of turning back?
    Also, how long is the walk actually?
    I'm planning to go there this year and need any possible info and advice! :)

    What was the purpose of the path and who where the builders?

    I hiked it 3 times and got caught my last time out. I wasn't arrested but they took my info down. If I get caught again it's curtains. My families hometown is approx 25 miles North so I go whenever I go visit my grandparents. I was told that there's been a high number of deaths...The adrenaline is what drives me.

  • @77and
    @77and  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @margoqml Yes, 25 metres would be enough.

    @and77 hiya! You can walk in from further North. The path becomes indistinct that's all.
