When I was a teenager I was almost human trafficked or kidnapped at a car wash. It was one of those car washes where you watched your car go through while you waited inside and watched through the glass. This man comes up asking me if I was a model, will I come to his car, he has this friend who he needs to take me to so I can get started…..yeah, all my alarm bells were ringing, I couldn’t really get away from him because my car was in the machine. I excused myself and said I needed to find a restroom. The manager of the place came up to me (probably because I looked like a scared rabbit. This was before cell phones.). He basically ended up hiding me in his office. I don’t know how he got rid of the guy, but it took like 30 minutes to convince him to go away. I had a terrible, sinking feeling in my stomach. That manager saved me from a terrible fate. Bless him.

I was only 13ish and was riding my bike with a friend at a local park. A guy (known to me) from the local fire department pulled up and started chatting, he then pulled me up to his truck window and kissed me, I was in shock. He kept pulling at me and kept asking me to go for a ride. My friend (13M) pulled up and I said "Hey, we better get to Miss Jane's house, we're late." I can only imagine what my face looked like and he replied quickly "Yeah, you're right, our parents will get mad, best leave now!" And with that we cycled as fast as we could to Miss Jane's house, she called my parents. Apparently this guy was creeping on a lot of the girls whose parents were members of the fire department. My father put a stop to that.

First time at a bar with friends, but not first time drinking.
We had ordered a pitcher and I drank most of it. Some 40ish year old tried to pass as a 25 year old after he learned my age.
    Why?
I told the dude I wasn't interested as he literally scanned me up and down.
He kept saying he was 25, but he for sure wasn't.
I had a guy friend sitting next to me and he told me he had noticed my body language. The hesitation in my voice, despite the slurring, also tipped him off that I wasn't comfortable.
Andrew told the old guy off; standing between the creep and I so I was safe in a corner.
Eventually old dude backed down - even coward a little.
It's sad men don't take "no" for an answer.
    Edit:
I fell out of touch with Andrew, but to this day I am thankful for him.

My husband's boss did something similar, two women started hitting on my husband and one even mentioned about taking him home with them. His boss while she can be sweet and nice, she can also be heavily sarcastic and mean when called for it.
That's what she did, called them out saying he's married and if they didn't leave right then and there(she finished checking out and stayed to keep trying to flirt with him), she would not only call me to come there but she would kick them out herself. She saw how uncomfortable my husband got after even saying he's married with two babies under 5. They both told me, but she said she would take over their check outs if they came back while he was working.

Not really my story but my friends. She was a grade ahead of me and asked me to attend prom with her as friends. She'd just broken up with her possessive boyfriend (PB) and really didn't like going to social events alone. I agreed and went.
I met her friends from the upper grade and we were having a great time. At some point I'd earned the title Little Sister Friend. Everything was going fine until I ran into PB by the drinks. He asked me to give the drink he was holding to my friend. I brought it back to her and told her where it came from, which she then dumped it (What I should have done).
Later that night we'd been separated and I found PB trying to dance with her, then demanding why she didn't take the drink. Things to keep in mind. This guy was like 6' and a basketball player. I was and still am 5'4 on a good day, usually with a book in my hand. No way was I going to be able to stop this guy if things went wrong. He starts to grab her arm while I'm freaking out, trying to find the others, when this 6'3 football player walks over, puts his arm around her and casually says their dating.
PB never showed up again that night. And after 2 months of being wing-girl, bestie and football jock were dating. That was two years ago and from what I can tell, they're a long distance couple due to college.

The Xmas party story shows what life was like for those of us women who were in the workforce back then (I'm 63). It was a balancing act. I personally was asked not once but 3 times to be a mistress from 3 different managers in 3 different jobs. I had to politely return gifts so as not to be obliged to the male co-worker looking for payment in kind (if you know what I mean). I had to pass on lucrative positions because I could tell in the interview that I would have a problem with the boss. Women had to constantly deal with sexual harrassment. It's not so bad now - we have the right to tell them to get lost and back off without losing our jobs. We didn't then.

The real horror of all this is that there are so many men out there who don't respect the human rights of anyone else, and will only stop when stopped by force, or the convincing threat of it. They never learn "live by the sword, die by the sword". If nothing can make a person behave except being forced, sooner or later someone will force them to behave. Not a man, but my mother. I was about 9 or 10 when we were driving down the street in the East Bay Area and saw a couple of girls walking in the opposite direction, looking very tense with two guys who seemed to be keeping pace behind them. I noticed the girls, but wasn't really paying attention. My mother did a U-turn and came up alongside them and told me to roll down my window. At first I thought she knew them and she said "Are you OK? Do you need a ride?" Then my mother told me to unlock the back door on my side and the girls just got in and my mother drove off. It turns out my mother didn't know them, but it looked like they were in trouble and made the decision to go to them. They started talking about how those guys were scaring them and my mother asked them where they wanted to go. We drove them to the house of one of them who said she had a key to get in. Then we left. I always remembered that about my mother. I've never been in the same situation again, but I think I would try to do what she did.

I was in on a date while on Workmans comp for a line of duty injury. I was on a cane due to an injured knee….while walking into the cinema I heard a woman yelling for help and telling a man to leave her alone. I handed my cane to my girlfriend and walked over with as little a limp as I could manage. The guy told me to mind my business so I displayed my badge and told him this seemed like it was exactly my business. We had a brief discussion and he decided he suddenly needed to be elswhere. We called the local pd and once they arrived I walked back to my girlfriend. She noticed that I was sweating and pale at this point and handed me back my cane….while clucking at me for always being “ that guy”.

We were drinking and having fun watching the band and this creepy guy kept hanging around and trying to talk to us. After their set, or during a break, I don't remember, the band came over to talk to us and ended up taking us back to our hotel in their van. I was "Uncle Steve" one evening after work. Walked into the parking lot and a woman walks towards me asking if I had jumper cables. She had a slightly desperate look in her eye and a guy standing a few yards behind her saying he had everything in hand. I told her I was pretty sure I did (because I did) and pulled my car up by hers, basically blocking it in the spot. Then got the cables out. Creepy guy asks if I need help, I reply something like "If I can jump a log truck in the woods I can handle a Honda in a parking lot." He got the idea and headed towards his car. As I wired her up I said if he turns around or doesn't leave, get in my car and we'll circle the block until the cops show up. I took my time (red to red, black to black usually only takes about 10 seconds) and once he was clearly past the first light , started her car and got her out of there.

  • @BJCMXY
    @BJCMXY 2 ปีที่แล้ว +46

In reference to the first story.
One of my friends was suffering from similar harassment with a mutual acquaintance being the person at fault.
Well, just after she finished reporting to me about this guy.
He walks up and proceeded to harass her in front of me.
I had been having a bad day, and seeing my friend being made uncomfortable and having clearly stated she wasn't interested and him ignoring her.
Well that was the end of my patience.
The poor guy looked like I had him in a Force hold for the next 10 minutes perhaps while I pretty much talked... Except what I did was psychological in nature.
He really couldn't respond because I was furious and basically shredded him to pieces mentally, before I decided him being in pieces wasn't enough... I stitched him up so that he would never try that BS again with my friend...apparently I scared him so badly that evening that he not only stopped harassing my friend, but all of the other people he'd been harassing were no longer being harassed.
I don't remember, whatever it is that I said, but I know that it probably was traumatic, particularly since he was literally held in place by the sheer force of my will.
I was a whole two meters from him physically, but he literally couldn't move without my permission.
The speed and precision of my mind in that moment actually scared me.
Even my friend was more than a little scared of me when that happened, because she'd never seen me actually be angry, let alone furious.
I keep myself under tight control precisely because I know how horrific my anger can be...essentially, I don't like hurting people in the ways I have been hurt, so I make a large effort to diffuse things before it gets to a point where I am triggered.
It means that most people don't even see me beyond mildly annoyed. I am that good at handling my anger.
However, apparently even witnessing me being angry is enough to scare people. My second roommate saw me when I was angry about something, without my realizing he saw me, and he put in a room change request the same day.
Ironic since if I had been one to do anything, he would've known about it far sooner.
    But yeah...apparently I'm scary, and I also look like a Viking.😅

Happened to me. I was alone at my local bar I frequented. The owner and the workers all knew me and my family. But I was having a rough night, and decided to go solo to drown my sorrows a bit. The bar tender, Lynn, was taking good care of me. Soon this smelly older guy was all up on me. I had no idea why as I had already lost what youthful beauty I had, guys don't go for fat single mothers like that. But down the bar, the owner was talking with some of his buddies. They called me down to sit with them and started up convo. I was drunk enough to not realize what they were trying to do, but eventually caught on and went down to sit with them. They made sure the creep was gone before letting me go home, after closing time. They let me sober up first ofc, and I was just a short drive down the road. They followed me to make sure I made it alright, and to make sure the wrong person didn't follow me. I could never thank them enough for looking after me that night, in more than one way.

    • @ErutaniaRose
      @ErutaniaRose 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@deedoc6241 So,
      1. I took a glass bead ball (Recycled African glass) and made a silver wire cage around it. (Had to stretch the silver to about 4 ft, then use a drill with a special bit to twist it, so it was then 2ft).
      2. The silver wire went inside the ball twice (which you need to pull through with plyers, it is a tight fit) and it should have four parts around it, like a ribbon on a present that has the bow on all six sides of the box/cube and one side is the bow.
      3. Then you can add decorations, so long as you have the sturdy wire cage and a loop at the top for the necklace chain to go through.
      4. Then you get a nice sturdy chain (I like nickle or brass).
      5. The part that makes it the ball n' chain is the clasp. It is a circle and stick one--where the little stick end goes into/through the circle end. So, you can keep it clasped to wear, OR, you can hold the stick end and let the chain for the neck drop down with the circle end of the clasp. So the result is you are holding one end with the stick clasp, and the circle clas is atop the ball with the neck chain going through it.
      www.ebay.com/itm/313325819741
(This clasp is KEY. Other than that, just make a nice ball with a wire cage and get a nice chain. Hope this helps!)

I was out for a walk late one night when I heard sounds of arguing. As I rounded the corner I saw a man capering around a woman like a lunatic. She was trying to walk quickly towards the end of the block I had just turned onto on the other side of the street but he kept jumping in front her. Her posture was very stiff and her arms were crossed tightly.
I yelled when I saw him getting right in her face with his arms stretched out to his sides in a classic "C'mon!" pose and she shied away. He turned towards me and charged yelling expletives and I spent the next two or three minutes dodging around the middle of the street as I refused to fight him. He finally gave up but she was out of sight. She didn't even look back; I made sure his attention was on me as she speed walked away.
Don't know what was actually going on but there wasn't another person in sight. I had to do something and I'm glad she didn't stop.

There's this shopping center close-ish to where I live. Most of it closes somewhat early, but there is a dance studio (on the south side) and a restaurant and an ice cream shop (on the east side) that are open a bit later. The area with the ice cream shop is pretty lively at night, but the area with the dance studio is pretty dead.
After class one night, this creep started following me and whispering profanities, gradually getting faster and louder until I was actually running. At one point he got close enough where I felt his spit on the back of my neck. That was after I tried to make a turn and my legs gave out on me (I had just danced for four hours after not dancing for years). I made it to the east section, though, and kinda just found a wall to collapse against (I definitely didn't feel safe enough going out to my car in the dark, especially since it was towards the south side).
After a little bit, this group of four men noticed me (crying because ???) and after telling them what happened, three of them went off to make sure the man wasn't around as well as find the security guard while the fourth stayed with me and told me about his wife and newborn daughter. They all ended up walking me to my car afterwards. I honestly had never felt safer (which was weird after such a terrifying experience). It was like I had been adopted by four older brothers for the night. Honestly, don't remember any of your names, but I'll be forever grateful for the way y'all took my mind off of what happened and kept me safe for the rest of the night, especially as I was in no condition to keep myself properly safe. Closest I've had was when i was working closing shift in fast food. I got a bad vibe off a customer a few minutes before closing, and apparently i wasnt the only one. My two coworkers, one who was training to be a body builder, stood behind me glaring him down, and my manager offered me extra hours to stay past lobby closing so one of them could give me a ride home.
Probably a good thing. One of the guys went out to smoke after lobby closed, and spotted the guys car in the dark courner of the parking lot, where pedestrians have to walk to get to the sidewalk.
After that, I started always wearing hairsticks when walking home at night. They don't look dangerous, but can be in a pinch, and I can reach one even if my arms are pinned.

At which point i told him he'd have to ask my dad, pointing out my 6' 6" dad playing pool, after the guy sees my dad he asked if i was my sister to which i responded "Nope, that's me sister's name and she's over there." I then point out my sister whi is sitting next to our brother at the table and the guy goes pale realizing he's trying to hit on someone who's underage and leaves the bar tender said it's best that i join my siblings at the table as i notice him putting up the bat he used to break up bar fights he said he'd tell me when the pinball machine was open and would make sure i got to play, i thanked him and joined my siblings at the table...another time was when this guy who was old enough to be my ded kept coming into my workplace while i worked at the wall-o-marts in the electronics area...he would rather often ask me to go out for drinks with him or to spend time with him to "get to know eachother" and all...i told my area manager and some co workers about it and any time they'd see the creep, if i was working they'd come up with some excuse to send me to the back or have me do the sight to store pick up orders that my area had to handle as it was "my turn"...because of the guys in my area watching out for me like that i never had to worry about that old creepy guy again...the guy had kept at it even after i had told him i had a boyfriend while saying "well what he doesnt know won't hurt him"...it honestly seemed like it made it more of a thrill to the guy knowing i was dating someone...total creep and douche bag for trying to hook up with someone that could be his kid and for still pushing the matter after being told "no thanks i have a boyfriend"...like seriously just no go away dude.

I used to play rugby, so I was quite well muscled, one Saturday I was walking through the town, I was wearing a rugby club sweat shirt with the club logo on the front. As I walked past a bench with a group of people around it, a girl reached out and grabbed my arm, so said, "Steve, I've been waiting for ages for you" kissed me on the cheek, linked arms with me and she whispered, "please play along." we walked away from the group and she told me that she had been trying to get away from them for about 5 minutes, it turns out that the group were some of the visiting rugby team that we were hosting. We ended up going out for about 6 months.

It sucks that a lot of creeps won’t stop harassing a woman unless a man has to step in, but at least there are people there who are willing to help someone in need

When I was 20ish a regular at the store I worked at (a weird 60ish guy who only ever wore camo outfits) started following and approaching me outside of work. At the bus stop, other stores,... I once took a bus two extra stops so he wouldn't find out where I lived. He didn't usually take my bus. Another regular customer, who used the same bus as me) noticed and offered to be my "bus-boyfriend" for a few days and that did the trick. I'm so so SO grateful to him even 25 years later.

I work at a convenience store and some guy kept coming in every night to try to get me to go out with him. I kept telling him I was married. Another regular came in one night when I couldn't get the other to leave and stood next to the counter and heard me tell the 1st guy that I was married again. Now the second guy is 6'3"s and built like a linebacker (he is a biker) he looks the other guy in the face and says "I'm the husband".I I went with it and never saw the first guy again.

My health teacher was telling us how we have to have situational awareness for ourselves and our friends - to make sure that if we get a water bottle that it clicks because it is not worth getting a bottle with something in it when you could just get a new one, and to keep our hands over our drinks, and even take it to the bathroom if we have to.
I hope I do the story justice.
He told us a story from his college days where he went to a bar with friends, and one of the girls in his group was talking with a guy at the bar. My teacher thought he saw the guy put something in her drink, so he went over there and said “Hey, I am sorry to bother you, but I think he just put something in your drink.” He told him to drink her drink, and that if he was wrong, he would by their drinks for the rest of the night. The guy was of course all defensive and started to make a scene. The bar tender came over to see what the problem was, and when my teacher told him that he thought he put something in her drink and about the wager the bar tender was like “Yeah just drink her drink buddy,” and the guy just bolted. The bar tender poured it out and they assume it was roofied or something. His friend was very thankful.

When young and going out I rarely had problems but I remember this one guy who seemed nice when he asked me to dance. I agreed but boy those hands. I told him several times to stop and when he didn't I walked away.
He then followed me to my table and was hands on again saying I liked it the night before at a different bar that was such a bad place I would never go there.
Anyway, he tried putting his hand between my legs, oh no my drink suddenly jumped right into his lap as he crouched beside me. Oh wow was he mad. The bartender and a couple of male customers quickly let him know that his kind was not welcome, ever. When I left I was excorted to my ride. That little country bar still is the safest bar for ladies some almost 50 years later.
Country boys don't take well to creeps messing with the women folk. Heck, I met my husband there. We will celebrate our 42 anniversary this coming week.

I'm so glad I'm an introvert. I don't think I would ever find myself in a club. Too many people, bad for my social anxiety. If it was urgent tho and I did run into a creep, I would force myself to go up to a random person and say "*random name*!! How's college going, I didn't know you were coming home! Does Mom know you're in town? Let's go visit her! She missed you a lot you know." I'm good at acting when it's necessary
