Nice to see some honesty from a fly shop on TH-cam for once and not just "this rod is great for you buy now!" *cough cough* trident fly fishing *cough cough*
nice review. I wish you would have compared the Method to the the Igniter. I use my 5wt. for exotics, small tarpon and snook in the 305/954 area. My current favorite line is the Monic in a clear floater.
Dont like the foam either, wayyyy easier to dick it up than conposite cork. HOWEVER...i have two Hardy Proaxis-X's, a 12-1 and a 12-4... When youre on a 50lb + fish EVA is MUCH better than cork against the gut. Not that the Igniter is a Tarpon tool, but definitely at 990 its a real Permit rod. So, maybe thats the thought process?
Side note - Can we as Foridians just start normalizing to the traveling angler that an NRX will do what a Sage X, Igniter, R8, R8 Salt, etc. Do....in one package. What is it about Sage that seems like they build rods for individual casts, especially in the salt. "Hey, were in the mangroves...Sage X time.....oh, boat just drifted off the flat, Igniter time". Like, no lol. Just buy Loomis.

🤣
Thanks Will! We're happy to help and will always be honest!
This is my all time favourite rod, I have the 690-4 and the 990-4 and I really enjoy casting them 🙂
That 6wt is one of my favorites too!
awesome review guys, planning on adding a few igniters for my personal collection and r8 salts to my quiver for clients. Stoked for em
thanks andres! Sounds like a killer setup!
This rod is probably closer to the end of its lifespan than the beginning. Interesting review.
Right?

If we find somebody with a method we can borrow, we'll do it. They should be pretty similar
I may or may not own several of these bad boys 😂 the name is very fitting 🔥 🔥 🔥

You should be in a video, you own just about every product in the industry! 🤣
One of my favorite 7wts was the method, but I’d rather have #thomasandthomas rods over sage anything. They are finesse hand cannons.

Not new at all, it came out in 2018.
