I'll never forget the first time I played the Griffon quest. Making my way to Bluemoon Tower, a location I hadn't visited up until then, encountering all kinds of enemies and different environments and finishing with that cinematic boss fight is one of my fondest memories in gaming.
I've been replaying Dragon's Dogma 1 in preparation for DD2, and I totally forgot how cool the bluemoon tower sequence is. All my pawns died before the actual boss fight because the griffin destroyed the ground underneath their feet. I thought I was done for until Steffen ran in with his grimoire and saved the day. I hope DD 2 has the same level of random legendary moments
I'm so glad that Dragon's Dogma is getting a sequel. For years, it felt like DD was doomed to be one of those cult classic games that Capcom was just going to ignore forever, I'm glad they're giving it another chance.
It's fascinating how no one fucking remember that DD2 was confirmes before DMC5 was even released. In an interview Itsuno states he was given a choice on what game he wanted to create and he said he chose DMC 5. At that point DMC 5 was announced and had a confirmed release date. His next game after was always going to be DD2. This was more than 5 years ago.
This feels so nostalgic for some reason... I can't explain it well but, all the hours, all the effort spent over years and years on one single game, it just feels unreal.
Seeing that harpy skip at bluemoon @4:55, truly shows why DD IS a gift to us all. I find it way too cool all the stuff I've learnt and seen just watching people use their giga brains to play this game even though I've been playing it since i was a teenager, lugging myself up those stairs the "hard way" .. XD learn something new everyday.

Just a few minutes ago I walked from Cassardis to the Bluemoon Tower and back. The pawn I have with me isn't the same one I started with way back when, but man... it feels weird to be looking forward to leaving Gransys behind, at least for the moment. Who knows, maybe DD1 will be even more worth going back to after playing DD2. But for now, I will always be thankful to this janky mess of a game that just so happens to be my favourite game ever made. And thankful to you for the content you've put out!
Your so right to call the stream used to make this video a sleep aid. i rewatched the stream multiple times to not just sleep. It's also great to listen and watch to while walking, getting home, or even activities like gaming or painting miniature with the stream in the bg. I pretty much did the same thing, i took my pawn exploring one last time and then I saved my game at Cassardis inside my house with my pawn at my side. I'll forever cherish the memories i made in DD1 😢❤
crazy im saying goodbye to a game world i spent years in man. Nearly everyday after highschool i spent hours fighting monsters, doing speedruns, and catching Griffins. Now i get to do all that again for another couple years
omg the timing of chunk lord, i knew this video was gonna be sentimental, i love to see people love little things. Definitely a good final touch of a journey. Incredible that before that weird announcement people hope, or at least mine, was very low for a sequel. But the classic "but it would be a big hit definitely, a legendary game" always crossed my mind. Things took the best course of action in the end with Dragon's Dogma, everything feels natural in a good way. I played it very late, because i couldn't afford games before, and even so my desire was the same. I couldn't imagine what the wait was for people that were fan from day 1, the same with games like baldurs gate 3. We are so fucking privileged.
I just started playing DD1 a few days ago so fortunately the wait was not very long between releases for me. At the time it released I paid too much attention to all the "It's not Skyrim enough" reviews it got, I wish I hadn't since I've been blown away by how much the atmosphere, combat and art department makes it feel quite recent. I'm glad I started paying attention to DD2 since I've been a huge fan of Capcom for the last half decade and the late 90s-early 00s. They've been producing pure bangers lately.
I've seen the ending a couple dozen times over the past decade that I've been playing the game, but that little nod your Pawn gives you in the final cutscene was just all the more touching knowing that I'm finally going into the sequel that I never thought was coming. She deserves a break after carrying my ass for 10 years.
I like how technically through the lore it can literally be the same Chonk Lord. His legen continues. Thanks for all the great content, can't wait for DD2 videos.

We should stop ridiculing console peasants, and start acknowledging that consoles holding gaming back is a good thing. If devs keep account for console specs, it means we don't have to spend $1500 on the newest graphics card every two months just to be able to play in 60fps. The absurd recent PC requirements need to stop. Devs need to stop relying on sheer hardware, and start optimizing better. Remember when the GTX 960 and 1080 actually lasted for years and were good enough for 60fps gaming in fantastic looking games like Dark Souls III and The Witcher III? We need to go back to that. I hate it when devs think just because consoles/PC components had an upgrade that they can just shoot for the moon.

Every single game on 9th gen consoles has been 60-120fps so far. Even the majority of games on the 8th gen upgrade the Pro/One X already were. If games like Days Gone can play 45fps stably on the Pro while rending 500+ intelligent sprinting zombies, this can play 60fps on a PS5.

And now I'm absolutely bananas for Dragons Dogma 2 coming out soon, and having gotten 12th in your community contest, I'm just so hyped for this game, it's so surreal, last time I was hyped for a sequel was Xenoblade 3.
They were inspired by the DD1 so much they even brought back the ps3 performance. As to me, I can take it i especially if the game is fun to play. I will have you know that i played for 200 hours of Monster Hunter World in 600x800 and unstable 20fps and i had a blast. Also it helped me play another 500 hours of the game on good rig just enjoying the scenery and fluidity.

What a game 💜 I was hooked as soon as I played the demo back in 2012. The fight against a griffin as a strider was so epic. I bought the game at launch on 360 and this game never left me. Played it on 360, played it on PC and now on Switch. After more than 2000 hours I am still not tired of it. I don't have a PC anymore but I am thinking of buying a PS5 just for DD2...

I've an EGPU with a steam deck competitor and on paper my specs are good enough. It's just that I can't trust anyone these days on their listed recommended or minimum specs.
My biggest fear going into DD2 is that it might be too much for a lot of people's hardware to handle. Nothing sucks more than booting up a game and realizing you will have to wait a week for delivery even if you have the money to upgrade your rig. The PS5 dipping below the target 30 FPS is very scary considering it's very easy to optimize for a platform where all the hardware is the same, and they've failed to do it. It makes me wonder how well it will run on PC. I'm hoping that running cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's gate 3 well indicates you'll be alright.
Unfortunately its almost all optimization. However the game is built on REengine. And all of CapComs other games run amazing. Theyll be able to improve it a lot i think.

It makes me wonder how well it will run on PC. I'm hoping that running cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's gate 3 well indicates you'll be alright.
Unfortunately its almost all optimization. However the game is built on REengine. And all of CapComs other games run amazing. Theyll be able to improve it a lot i think.

This genuinely might be the most important game release of my lifetime. At first it was Elden Ring, but that was expected. I never expected DD to get a true sequel and the love it deserves.

This 24 hour wait before Dragon's Dogma 2 releases keeps pulling me back to the character creator to "polish" my characters and I don't think I'll be able to stop until we're able to play.
