Just to clear a few things up as I wasn't clear enough in the video about this: These heads are Warspeed/Higgins CNC ported heads, but are obviously not heads that were completed or would have even been recommended by Warspeed for this application. There is nothing wrong with the heads at all, they are just not necessarily the best suited for an Aspirated SBE combo on E85, this is not a reflection of Warspeed, OR Higgins in any way. In a boosted or Stroked application where compression is not limited by a stock Piston these heads would be some of the best performing heads you could get your hands on. It is obvious that these heads were never done with the intention of being bolted onto a Stock Bottom End. Warspeed and Higgins both are possibly the two most well respected businesses in the performance industry, especially here in AUS. Being involved in the industry and understanding this makes it pretty obvious to us while we are filming that the issues with this combo are no reflection on these two businesses at all. But for those watching that aren't involved they may get the wrong idea, we should have been a little more careful to explain this in the footage.
For a long time they were, then people would complain about me talking too much. With this format Im hoping I can get away with being this informative without the content being totally dry!
Not a bad result. Out of my 6L with hand ported heads, flycut pistons, 236/242@108 .6xx"/.6xx" it spun up 498.6hp 713nm and repeatable across multiple dyno's. Pump 98. Being auto tho and a converter that would be an animal!
Hand ported heads are definitely the go when it comes to rectangle! Our Porter says he gets great flow gains without increasing the cross sectional area of the port. Keen to try a pair of his heads on a combo one day, (just need to wait the 6 months lead time to get him to port a pair lol) Great results out of your combo 👍👍
