Headed up to the mountains for a few hours of fishing. What a perfect day! In this video I show you how to catch all the trout you want at Gross Reservoir. I released all the fish I caught but please obey all regulations if you decide to keep any fish for dinner. It's about an hour drive from the Denver metro area. They hit on every cast! Unfortunately they were all small but still lots of fun to catch. I caught over 50 in a couple of hours hoping for a big brown trout but they were all stocker trout. Get out there and have a great time!

Let me know when you want to try and hit the lakers this winter at Gross. White shoes are a must when you are shore fishing!

Just went out to gross the first time this last weekend with a buddy it was incredibly windy but we still managed to catch brown trout rainbow trout and I caught my first ever Laker next time I go back I will definitely be bringing in a water bobber with more flies I didn't realize that the water was so deep these fish probably turn wild real quick once they're released they were not hitting lures I'll tell you that
Nice! I just released a video where I was catching baby cutbows and lake trout pups there. Waiting for safe ice to form at Lake Grandby but catching small lakers at Gross is still fun.
@@fadedchannel yeah I'm going to hit the drawing board before I go back again I'm thinking of buying some big salt water flies and trying to hook up with a trophy Laker they seem to follow up the jerk baits but then they turn tail as soon as they see you at the bank so I'm assuming they like a natural presentation. My buddy was killing it all day with imitation crawfish too
@@fadedchannel went back with 3.5" tube jigs and a 1/2 head and slayed big browns and lakers all day long everything over 15" and the biggest was a 23" brown lol 🤣 figured em out I don't like catching little fish no point for me

You can catch them all over the lake. In the video I was on the south shore parking lot by the dam.

@@fadedchannel im going tommorow to the north shore with the long hike down , using paddletails like you did only fish in colorado i havent caught yet has been a laker.
