Charlie was always a prick. Look at what he did to DJR. Some teams would never have come back from that. I am not surprised. Frosty deserved much better
Yeah, it's a shame for Frosty, but he is 43 and is really just a midfield runner now. His best days are behind him. At DJR, I feel that Anton and Will have not really delivered the goods. Anton has shown he is nowhere near the class Scotty was. And Will has not really been a consistent front runner. Brody to DJR will be good as he has the goods, and it will take him out of Erebus which is obviously not a really happy place for him.
I really don’t like switches and changes with drivers and teams, I like it when you see a driver and team stick together and progress together. But hey only my view loyalty is everything in my world.
Since Penske left Shell V-Power they seem to have fallen away from being one of the top 2 teams beside 888 and I felt sure Kostecki would be going to Nascar in 2025
A bit of a dog act from Charlie at T18 if the way its said to have unfolded is true. It Would have Been nice to have given Frosty a bit of a heads up first and let him announce either retiring from fulltime or that hes leaving before announcing a new driver. Geeze, Frosty put that team on the map. This series has zero respect for anyone. We treat our champions like crap. Im really disenchanted by the way Supercars is nowadays. I was a hardcore fan from the getgo in the early 90s, up until about 5 or 6 years ago. Its a joke series now.
Yeah from the outside at least, it does seem quite disrespectful to someone who's been such an important part of the sport. I understand the decision, but how its been done seems to be the disappointing bit. I don't pin this on Supercars though, they can't tell teams what to do with their drivers especially if they're out of contract. I think the teams have to take responsibility.
It frustrates me that some people think that every car and team in Supercars is equal. Frosty is matching Reynolds, grabbed 2 podiums, and is getting shafted because of this idea that the driver is the only factor in the result. If the car isn't maintained and developed properly, and the management and pit stop crew aren't up to scratch, the results can be harder to come by. Otherwise why would Triple Eight still be up the front? There's plenty of talent on the grid. Rusty's Garage did an interview with Charlie Schwerkolt last year that changed my mind a bit about Charlie. I used to think harshly about him because of what Dick Johnson wrote about how things played out with James Courtney and Jim Beam, then how Lee Holdsworth was let go for Frosty, but soon my thoughts changed. Signing my favourite driver James Golding was one thing. Then this interview with Greg Rust where Charlie talked about looking for good deals. It doesn't sound like Charlie is Betty Klimenko rich, so perhaps it was a case of looking at how much he was paying Frosty, then what sponsors wanted, and working out what was the best way forward. If Anton shows up in his Team18 Camaro in 2025 with no major sponsor for the full year I will be pretty disappointed.
Badly handled by Schwerkolt and co but not surprising, CS isn't really known for respectful behaviour. Team 18 is a dead end gig, more a pre retirement avenue than a means to winning a championship. It will be interesting to see how long ADP remains there.
I honestly don't have strong insight or feelings on Team18 but from the outside, it does seem a bit rough on Frosty. Also very curious to see how ADP goes!
Everyone's career comes to an end and it seems to be in the early forties bracket for supercars drivers. What does amuse me though is the 110% bit. Simply impossible.
Yeah absolutely, gotta call it time one day. Just a shame he didn't get a better chance to search for something else if he did want to continue.. Lots still to play out though, we'll see where he lands!
@@colinl9018 Perhaps, but who's going to tell them? Drivers like Warren Luff, a perrerinal enduro driver, just keep turning up and doing the job. Garth Tander, a superb enduro driver. Ritchie Stanaway looks likely to be re-joining their ranks if he doesn't get a full time gig next year, another superb driver. The market will tell the also rans it's time to go
I agree with Scott Pye’s comments, they should have announced Forsty was leaving before announcing a new driver.
100% 👍
Yeah, it's an obvious order that should have been applied. Guy leaving before guy incoming. Sad they could not get it right.
Respect and manners are a thing of the past ……. Taken over be greed and instant success- loyalty out the window
Frosty the the nicest man you’ve ever meet he definitely deserved better

Good info. Frosty is a legend that seems to have faded over the years but still a great guy.
Thanks@@jamesgang94591- perhaps a co-drive arrangement could help finish his career on a high!
He is getting into Co-Driver Territory...
Kostecki at DJR, confirmed.

@@FanAtTheFence That's par for the course for Charlie, very selfish.

i wonder if frosty will end up at premier, if not i wonder if he can buy himself a seat at bjr or maybe a good co drive with groves or something
The frosty was getting old one win in seven years give it away retire plenty of young fast drivers coming thru.
That's the plus side, there's potentially an extra seat available for someone new (eventually after all the current driver movements).
Still won't make team 18 fast
Anton probably expected Kia was getting a spot at DJR in future anyway... Big announcements at Norwell tomorrow...
