- This dog is the LARGEST dog we EVER rescued!!! I can't even believe I asked Loreta Frankonyte to do what she ended up doing to save Gershwin's life. This was very dangerous and could have resulted in a very serious injury! I'm a little confused as to why she didn't hand the noose over to him so he could take control of the animal so she could get her bearings and slip the other noose on him rather than her getting tugged around.

Loretta is absolutely amazing! She was so brave to catch him herself and to hold on despite being dragged around. I’m so glad she caught him and he received the medical treatment and love he deserves. Thank you for all that you do 💜

I've JUST watch a video of Loreta getting bitten while trying to rescue an injured dog, staying calm and saying, I quote "I would do it again".

@@JBitzz Honestly, I'm not sure why the two of you are praising someone for being bitten by the animals. Sure, to be bitten and still dedicate yourself to the cause is noble, and courageous to a degree, but the fact that she has been bitten and multiple times at that, is actually a really bad thing. It means that she's making mistakes.
Now, it's okay to make mistakes, we're all human and we all make them, but it's another thing when you're posting the most viewed animal rescue videos in the world and showing men women and children who are otherwise clueless on how to handle such a situation, the wrong thing. It's dangerous and what they actually should be doing is going over why she got bit and explain what not to do in the future for anyone who might find themselves in a similar situation, of course as a last resort after calling a professional.

I'm just a kid so I cannot donate, so I make sure to like every single video I see from hope for paws. I wish to do this job once I grow up, only because of how this channel inspires me.
You should start now by volunteering at a animal shelter. Get some experience now.
robin melnyk Leave the donating up to the grownups who have jobs or the money from somewhere else to do it. For now, wanting to donate is the sign of a wonderful kid. There are a lot of shelters that could probably used you help as a volunteer.😀

I like how in the end his tail was high! you noticed when they catch him how scared he was, his tail was literally between his legs, such a big dog and so afraid of humans. It saddens me to see how much he have been harmed to become so afraid of humans despite his big size, So Glad they helped him. Thank you! Loreta is amazing.

I have been an animal rescuer for more than 30 years and still get so emotional when I see an animal taken out of a terrible situation. My eyes leaked through this entire video!

What a great job Loretta did keeping hold of Gershwin. I love to see when a rescue gives up its fear, realizing y'all are there to help. It was a good thing he went willingly into the vehicle! UzeHerName Thank you! I went to the library to check something on a government website. I had to have an email address to do so! I did not even own a computer in 2002. Every option that I would come up with involving my name, Ann, was taken. So finally I tried that. Can you guess what kind of dogs I had? lol A Chihuahua I got when she was 10 weeks old, and had 16-1/2 years, and a Pit Bulldog that I rescued literally days from death. She gave me 4 wonderful years. I sure miss my doghters.
I know what you mean, i had a recued fiv+ senior male cat for 1 year (dec2014/dec2015) he was the sweatest cat i've ever seen, my new cat is sweat too, but this rescued senior has surprised the vets by purring and snuggling in their arms during care.
Sadly he passed away from a massive liver failure, the fiv wasn't involved and never woke up.

Thibaut Guillet Is that the cat in your video? He was gorgeous! I am so sorry you had him for such a short time. I'm happy he was loved for that last year. Two years ago, an adult male cat came to my home, skinny and with a plaintiff cry. I fed him. After a few weeks, he decided to live on my front porch. I eventually made him a place on the covered back deck and got him neutered. However, it wasn't long before I let him inside. He is so sweet, but doesn't cuddle as much as I would like. lol He runs when people come around, but he had no problem coming up to me. I reckon it was meant to be.

Somethings happened that are just as worse such as chopping a dogs leg off and throwing it away and somethings are not on purpose but just as bad or even worse (ever seen the vid with the dogs face destroyed by maggots?)

nesori 40. somebody has to do it. i think eldad recognizes that loreta is less threatening than he or another male would be. most times abused dogs are hurt by males so loreta is the wise choice. i have seen rescues when he goes by himself and he at times seems to have a harder time corralling and catching the dog. when you take on this job then you take the good with the bad.
It is always hard to watch these video's until it gets to the part where the animal is safe and happy.
