@@chrissiemav He wrote a ton of songs for Slim; unfortunately, I don't have a list ... but I know that he wrote "The Jimberella Kid" th-cam.com/video/Ai1gFtHB-CE/w-d-xo.html
At 0:44, at the end of the first verse, is that Old Purple parked under the canopy oout on the concourse near the bowsers? Cos it sure looks like it to me!!
Reckon its Fet and Ian Simpson, about the time when Ian joined the TCB, could be wrong. Let us take a moment to applaud Joy McKean and Her awesome song writing ability - simply brilliant.
Thanks Mark, the things one does learn. If one does not continue learning, something is very wrong. A question, please. I did hear of a plan to publish your Dad's works. Did that happen? It would a "must have" in any decent Australian Country music collection.
It's 2023.
I think I'd sorta freak out if Slim walked into a restaurant that I was eating in and started singing.
This song reminds me of when my family. Traveled in the car by going one place to another
Thanks. Just goes to show the brilliance of the TCB members. Actually, Ian gave me some guitar "pointers" one night, many years ago
And the driver of the Road Freighters Kenworth cabover is a friend of mine!
The song was composed by Joy McKean (Music) and Tony Brooks (lyrics). I should know, because the lyricist was my dad.
It’s a great song Mark, the lyrics are so haunting. Can you point me to any more of your dad’s work?

Great forever 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️
The cook is Bruno from "Kingswood Country"
He most certainly does!
Can't believe its 9 years ago since I made that comment (about Fet and Simo).

It is no doubt
Cajun Fiddle!
Cajun fiddle definitely! Add an accordion to the "fiddle break" and it would be Zydeco music!
From Oz !
Very similar to Don Rich's Cajun Fiddle
Never seen Ian Simpson play a fiddle before. Only ever heard him on a "bush ballad guitar" or banjo. He looks pretty young in this footage.
Mike Kerin is one - I'm assuming the other is Paul Trenwith from the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band from NZ
Had another look at another clip - that might actually be Paul Trenwith on the other fiddle!
Certainly looks like them, top band. Though, never knew that Ian S played the Fiddle

Greg Kie it's fet and ian
Thanks Robert.
Credit where it's due - Joy added the music to the lyrics of Anthony E. Brooks (my old dad!).

Od dance choice for country music
@millstoneridge No it's Mike Kerrin - aka the Fiddling Fettler from the Travelling Country Band ... take away the mo and it's easy to spot.
@rooshooter1977 yeah i was thinking that too, looks like it
Greg, I reckon you might be right!
Respond to this video...
i mean Narrabri
I don't know the to cooks
Mike Kerin and Ian "Fet" Simpson
so this is basically a spin on John Fogerty's 'Rockin' all over the world'?
The other way round, Lights on the Hill won a Golden Guitar at Tamworth in 1973 well before Rockin' All Over the World, which was released in 1975.
Crikey … Simmo cooking & playing fiddle … is there anything he can't do?
