This game really was so underrated and ahead of its time. It paved the way for many common features in many types of video games of today. I think the only reason it wasn't a well known and massive smash hit in history was because of its difficulty level. It was an early stage in the evolution and a really pivotal one.
The game is hard as hell. Getting past the 3rd level is an accomplishment. Making it TO the skeleton is hard enough, beating him is even crazier. The world record holder achieved 41,012,800 points. Given that you need to beat the first loop to make it to 300,000+ the guy must have beaten it in excess of 10 loops to get that high of a score.
And the moment you discover hitting the chestplate twice on the female knight defeated her, left her alive (she is just sitting down and pivots to watch you go), and gave you a view of pixel nips :)
That was my favorite game when i was young. On holideys i spend so many money to play on ir 😁😁 I only get to archer women and i couldnt bet her hahaha. Nice game 👍👍
I played it as a kid now i am 40 and a veteran gamer. I got a Arcade so i searched for it found it and it still imposible for me. You are some kind of martian if could finish it without cheating.
I played this as a kid, never got very far. I thought it was incredible back then for the removable armor and gigantic characters. Every character has different skin tone! Kudos to the artist, tons of dithering moves and the asteroids at the end look great. Check out the multi-tiered level design it hides until halfway through the game
I could never remember the name of this game, but I remember loving it as a child. Only ever saw it in one arcade in my life so this was like a fever dream in my memories. Gotta say it actually does look fun for about 5-10 minutes. I thought there was a medusa lady or something.... ah well.
Holy smokes!! I remember This in my youth. My dad got this arcade from someone at a garage sale. I played it every day and night to beat the game.. It would piss me off that sometimes it would not let me win..🤯💥😮💨🤦😁 But I finally beat it and learned how to defeat the bosses..😁👍
I remember playing this game as a kid. It was tough, but with some skill you could get pretty far in the game. I never got to the space stage, so it was cool to see what the "ending" was. Kind of lame it wasn't anything really story related. The game play was great with the armor, shield and weapon. I remember hittting the other characters sword until it broke and then you could just attack. We always took our time with the female warrior and knocking off her armor ;) What a walk down memory lane.
So, what I gather is: Legends and stories spread of the 'Treasure Place', where riches beyond your wildest dreams lie in wait, if you possess the steel to claim it as your own. Warriors flock to claim this great wealth for themselves. Swordsman, brutes, soldiers, and even demons. Only one warrior was deemed worthy, after fighting his way through all that stood in his path. The guardian of the Treasure Place rose, to challenge and test the mettle of the warrior. After immense hardship and combat, the lone warrior claims the Treasure Place as his own, as it's champion. Yet he knows more warriors will come to challenge him for the treasure. And so he stands vigil over his wealth, awaiting worthy challengers... Thus, the cycle never ends.
I remember being intrigued by this game as a kid but never playing it. For years I had always wondered about this game and what it was called. It looks quite difficult. Maybe it was a good thing I didn't sink too many quarters into it.
Your footwork and shield work is really good. Couldn't tell for sure if the cheat was enabled until the skeleton because your blocking and dodging was so on point. The skeleton reveals all, though. LOL A few more attempts and you could have pulled this off without the cheat with those moves.
Loved playing this game as a kid... Thing was...I couldn't get past Irene (the female warrior you fight) for the longest time. After about the 20th time, I got mad. I slammed about $2.00 worth of quarters in the coin slot, hit start, and I just started moving the joystick in all directions, hitting the buttons randomly, and within about 20 seconds, Irene falls to her knees, still alive, and reaching for me as I walked off screen. Apparently, I had knocked off all of her armor without killing her is my best guess. Never was able to duplicate it after that...
Watched the history on Ikari warriors and wondered if there was one for this, too, not on youtube it looks like. This was a fun game I liked playing back in the day.
PURA NOSTALGIA
lol wow … this game brings back memories…. Like getting my ass whoop by my mom because I stole her laundry quarters 😬… 💥 💥 lesson learn, but I loved this game! 🤙🏼🤙🏼

I spent a million quarters playing this game! All Time Classic!!!

What are some of the features in particular? I personally found the gradual loss of armor as an interesting take.

Virar a máquina
Dam I remember playing this game in public school . Now I’m an old man. I’m a kid at heart once again after seeing this .
I remember playing this and thinking how good the graphics where🤩
And the moment you discover hitting the chestplate twice on the female knight defeated her, left her alive (she is just sitting down and pivots to watch you go), and gave you a view of pixel nips :)
That was my favorite game when i was young. On holideys i spend so many money to play on ir 😁😁 I only get to archer women and i couldnt bet her hahaha. Nice game 👍👍
Wow. I remember playing this in Kindergarten in '86. Very first video game I can remember with a "final form" last boss.
I played it as a kid now i am 40 and a veteran gamer. I got a Arcade so i searched for it found it and it still imposible for me. You are some kind of martian if could finish it without cheating.
I absolutely loved this game as a teen playing in the arcades.
i like to undress completely the blonde amazon with pink armour, that was my only objective as a 10 y/0 child
Always get mad if you killed her too fast, die on the next section to try again, right?😂
Her name's Irene it says, would there be any way to make armor pink? I heard you can't paint guns neon colors because it will screw up the metal.
I did the same thing! The trick was to destroy her sword. Then you could target specific armor locations. The stuff kids have access to now ....

The medusa lady was from the similar arcade game Hippodrome. :)
This was the pinnacle of arcade gaming for a long time. I’d buy a new version.

I played this at the pizza shop. I couldnt beat that fucking skeleton, but by the time i was done a few games, my pizza was ready.
Laundromat the next town over had one of these. 9yr old me LOVED it.
I loved this game back in the day!

Right?
As pubescent preteens/teens, that was half the draw of the game !

I use to play this, pit fighter, altered beast , Shinobi & double dragon
one of the games I spent a lot of quarters on.

She wanted you bro.
You spent too much time trying to knock off her breastplate and codpiece, bro! It's alright, we all been there!😄
I think I saw that happen...ahh those incredible pixels...

Lembra a minha infância.
thanks for uploading this. i never could get to the end
Finally got to see the end.
When this is released on Arcade Archives, would it be a Taito game or an Allumer game?
I beat this only once back in the day, but definitely not on a single credit. This is only the second time I've seen the treasure room.

I loved this game. I remember waggling the stick up and down rapidly created a force field in front of you. Never got past the skeleton boss though.
Catchy ending w skeleton
...
Did anyone remember playing this in The Oval Sports Centre in Bebington (UK) in the mid/late 80's?
This was my favorite game at super Saturday's in Dayton
Was this ever on a compilation disk on the Xbox or PS2? I remember playing it, I'm just not sure where.
🤩 My cousin Torrae played this like crazy. 80babies💯
If you were careful enough - you could undress the chick (giggaty giggaty). The perv in me was strong as a young nerd! 🤓
Come on, I dare anyone who was a young male at the time to deny that wasn't at LEAST 50% of the reason we played this game lol
Yep , I did indeed GOOD TIMES
which mame are you using?
I remember you can break her sword if you keep hitting with your sword.
This game was brutal in '86, and still is today. Quarter muncher!
It knocks you back on some continues too.
I'd like to see Bushido Blade with this one's speed and precision.
I LOVED this game
Acho virei a máquina desse jogo uma vez .
For some reason i remember the gladiator being a mid-evil Knight.
The music and game play are like the Sailor V game that Sailor Moon plays
that was uncool getting him below the belt
Is this ported to any moderns game systems?
I loved this back in the day, super realistic combat.
Teabagging was introduced in this game
COmbat feels dangerous and eventful
One of my favorite games ever . Did it ever come to pc or anything ? I would love to play this again 😍
It was on Taito Legends for the PS2.
lol wow … this game brings back memories…. Like getting my ass whoop by my mom because I stole her laundry quarters 😬… 💥 💥 lesson learn, but I loved this game! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
After gladiator game blandia game,s story starts.
Gladiator, the brother of the guy on hong kong '97 and the ET of Atari
Good game, but the music is terrible.
yo i used to play this when i was very young , is this in pc?
You can play on MAME (arcade emulator).
Como podría conseguir este juego ayuda porfavor
Ese juego era inolvidable
Does that game get harder on subsequent loops?
One loop is plenty.
@@Clitcommander5000 The guy who holds the world record for this game had to have done many, many loops. I can't imagine how he could have managed to do that in the 80s.
I vaguely remember this game. my word was it crap! Well done here though!
Qual video gueime tem esse jogo
Nenhum. Morreu nos arcades. Você pode jogar usando o emulador MAME.
This game was actually created by Seta.
Copy of Sega
SETA Corporation has nothing to do with SEGA.
But turns out being developed by Allumer.
As a young man (early teens) in the 80’s… I loved disrobing that female fighter🤓
0:47 Ouch !!!
Saudades desse jogo
