  • This is a playthrough using Jun Kazama in the Arcade version of Tekken 2 version A. Read on below for more information...
    Jun is the personal sub-boss for Law or Wang in the game, depending on who is set as the default character between Jun and Baek, respectively. If Baek is set as the default character then Jun becomes a hidden playable character through the use of a secret command/code, shown below.
    ===== HOW TO SELECT JUN =====
    This is for when Baek Doo San is set as the default character.
    On the character select screen, do and press the following input commands:
    Highlight Law, Start, Down, Start, Start, Down, Up
    If you've done it correctly, Jun will be selected.
    ===== ABOUT JUN =====
    As the lover of Kazuya, the mother of Jin and having the alter-ego of Unknown, Jun plays a significant role in the Mishima storyline. In Tekken 2, as an Animal Protection Officer of the W.W.W.C, she enters the King of Iron Fist tournament aiming to arrest Kazuya Mishima for smuggling protected animals, but also wants to free Kazuya of the mystic forces surrounding him. During the tournament, a mutual attraction between her and Kazuya developed which lead to the birth of Jin Kazama.
    ===== GAMEPLAY =====
    As Tekken 2 is her debut game, she doesn't have a prequel counterpart to compare to. Generally, Jun has some nice variable combo strings and some hard-hitting kick attacks, which makes her good for both offensive and defensive play. One of her bread & butter moves is no doubt her White Heron attack (it's the one where you press LP + RK to start it), which can lead to many different strings of your choice and can confuse and keeps the opponent guessing.
    ===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / TRIVIA =====
    ---- In the Arcade versions of the game, in the operator options screen, there is an option to set either Jun or Baek as the default character. If you set it to Jun, she would appear on the utmost left side of the character select screen. If you set it to Baek then he would appear on the utmost left side of the character select screen. The reason for this option is to perhaps "cater" to the country of Korea (Baek is South Korean) and their fans of the game.
    ---- If the game is set with Jun as the default character, then her Stage 8 personal boss is Wang Jinrei, and vice-versa.
    ---- If the game is set with Baek as the default character, then her Stage 8 personal boss is Marshall Law, and vice-versa.
    ---- As a new character in Tekken 2, she gets his own unique music theme even though she can appear as an unlockable sub-boss. The same applies to Baek.
    ---- Character concept-wise, she can be considered as Tekken's version of Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown.
    ---- Her fighting style is called the Kazama Style Traditional Martial Arts or Kazama-Style Self Defense.
    ---- In the Tekken 6 art book, it was revealed that Unknown was originally supposed to be Jun's sister. The idea was scrapped when it was decided that Tekken Tag Tournament was to be non-canonical to the story.
    ---- In Tekken 3, Ogre has some of the Jun's moves.
    ---- She was considered to appear in Tekken 3 due to an unused image portrait of her which can be found in the Arcade version of the game. Additionally, it has been reported that some of her voices can be found in it as well.
    ---- She is also known as the Ecological Fighter and The Chosen One.
    ===== ABOUT ARCADE TEKKEN 2 Ver.A =====
    This is a vast improvement on the prequel as it is far more refined and fleshed out in all aspects. All the personal sub-bosses (besides male Kunimitsu) return and all them are playable through the use of hidden input commands on the character select screen. Every character in the game has their own stage background as well.
    Interestingly, it should also be mentioned that in the Arcade versions of Tekken 2, there is a setting in the options/operator screen that allows you to set either Baek or Jun as the regular character on the character select screen.

    The reason Baek the Korean bird-brain (since Baek's nickname came from species of birds, hence the 'Killing Hawk') replaced Jun the Japanese ecological fighter as the default character, hence it is because of the similar reason Korea deeply views Japan as a mutual adversary, with notes seen below:
    Hence the fact they did that bloody performance, was because they do not want Korean consumers to offer (perhaps unauthorised) the arcade version of TK2 that features Jun as the default player, instead, they removed her in favour of Baek Doo San as the normal player, because employees at Bandai Namco (then called as Namco at that time when TK2 was developing from start to finish) wished to promote the Tekken franchise to the Korean market.
    As a result of the deeply loose campaign (as said above) that Namco did, therefore, they realised that they would just favour its supplying their need to set Baek as T2's permanent player for the Korean releases of Tekken 2 (arcade version only). Because enshrining Jin's mum as the permanent player, means it deeply enshrines her country of origin that is also the same COG (country of origin) of the said franchise and its copyright holder (Japan), at the same it could jeopardise the minds of countless Koreans as a result (even tthough Tekken and [Bandai] Namco are of Japanese origins, so do Yoshimitsu, Heihachi, and the fighting styles that Nina and Paul use), because.they (Korea) also view Japan as one of its punchbags (aka punching bag to Americans).
    It is also because, Korea, in whole of its geography, were colonised brutally by Japan from 1910 to 1945, after the decolonisation, many legacies of that history were brought back to relevance (e.g. comfort women, hence blaming Japan for those things), but these were only known in both ccountries (Japan and Korea) and its own people as well. And besides, many countless people, especially in other western countries (except the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand), do not care about what neither Japan nor Korea do that deep...

    There was a setting to change new default character slot probably because of Korean arcades doesn't want to have a new Japanese fighter to take place in the default slot due to Korean law.

      @@JrtheKing91 The AI works differently, there are various minor fixes such as sounds, some moves are different, combos scale damage differently. Basically a lot of small adjustments.

      From the Japanese wiki, then Google translated and cleaned up:
      - Elimination of broken (i.e. overpowered) techniques
      - Fine adjustment of rigidity time (move recovery time) and damage
      - Time release Change character release conditions from fixed number of plays to fixed operating hours
      - Added new technique to middle boss
      - Change the title screen (Kazuya's face is up in the title logo)
      - Victory icon has changed from red to green
      - The character fighting on the demo screen is in a 2P costume
      Also, now that I've actually gotten the Ver. A arcade PCB: slight physics change for Ver. A when it comes to hitting grounded opponents. Attacks that hit grounded opponents always cause that "low float" effect (just like in the first Tekken) instead of pushing/sliding the opponent away.
      Ver. A Kazuya only has a u/f+4,4,4 (mid, low, mid) instead of u/f+4,4,4,4 (mid, low, low, mid)
      Ver. A move damage is different, with different moves giving that "spark" effect
      Ver. A sub-bosses can _only_ be selected with codes (can't just simply scroll off-screen).
      ...probably more too. Perhaps the Yoshimitsu "infinite combo" involving those spinny sweepy kicks actually was an infinite in Ver. A...

      Version A let’s you play as the base characters but the AI is brutal.
      Version B lets you play as all the characters including the hidden ones. Plus they made the AI a bit more tolerable(except for Kazuya).
