I just got a 5RM and it looks identical to this radio, I like it.
But I think the Baofeng UV-5RM has 8 watts of maximum power compared to the Baofeng UV-5RH with 10 watts which is about the same.
Mine was hit and miss at getting the frequency and actually was more "miss" than "hit".....it got close to the right frequency but wasn't exactly accurate...should get me in the ball park though if I ever use it. 😎👍 Good vid! 😎😎😎
Here in the U.K radio badged as BF-5RH is the Multi-band version & UV-5RH is Tri-band version, but both are marketed on U.K site as UV-5RH but do have subtle differences, like air band & slightly different displays, for only a few pence more, go for the Multi-Band version. Also does TX from 220-260 Mhz although it states under VHF2: 200-260 MHZ (RX) Then again the Version 2 Tri Band does not state RX/TX All a bit confusing...
Version 1 - Multi Band
FM radio 76-108 MHz; AM aviation frequency band: 108-136MHz (RX)
VHF1: 144-148MHZ (RX&TX) ; VHF2: 200-260MHz (RX)
UHF1: 430-440MHz (RX&TX) ; UHF2: 350-390MH2 (RX)
Version 2 - Tri Band
136-174 / 220-260 / 400-520MHz
As it was late night when i made this i didnt think about the frequency the Radio kept finding at around 100mhz - that must be a local broadcast station ...... so why is the UV5-RH detecting it ? i would have thought it would only be looking in the 2 meter range ......... thoughts ?
😂😂😂and you seem to think that 444 is VHF???😂😂😂 Get some rest
yup, i should stop doing these late at night but its hard with a 7 year old running around lol @@yungsmile7546
How close does the radio have to be?
I believe it just listens for the strongest signal.
mine was tri band ,,, but it actually does AM !!!! it wont scan AM like this :(
It actually does scan as I accidentally discovered it by just going into AM mode and then holdi down on the # key untill it begins searching.
Actually just holding down on the pound key works on dmy band to scan but it will on stay on the frequency for a second or two than it goes back to scanning.
Pretty cool
How to use the wireless programmer for this radio 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
The Bluetooth programmer software does not currently support the UV-5RH radio :(
What does 200 do in search?
Searches the 220Mhz band for a close active signal and shows if there is a DCS or ctcss tone
you didnt put links in the description
Which links ? I am sure I put a link to popup in the video or did I miss one ?
@@ham-famat 1:34 you said you would leave a link to your favorite radio in the description
@TheBbarrow79 ah yeah for some reason it's not popping up on the video. Here it is JYT DM-6100 DMR Dual Band HT Radio: th-cam.com/play/PLtMOAA7SyoKHXHSiU5FCqWL5v_jZSXx1w.html
@@ham-fam thank you
Is UV5RH legit does baofeng really release it?
Yes
This is a cool feature. Be interesting to scan for local hamsters
Can I directly save a frequency to memory from the search function?
Yes , sorry i didnt show that bit
How do you save it once you scan the frequency?
How do you delete the saved channel wirelessly searched?
@@chipfornaris excatley ?? no answer ??? i have to buy one now to find out
How's the original antenna?
Does it accept the Nagoya 771?
Can you make a video range test sa baofeng UV-5RH
Does your version have the Airband? - i know som of them do 73 Levi
Yes it does - th-cam.com/users/shortsctIwuSCxznU?feature=share
Where can I download the manual?
Okay so its just finds, but we can not directly to transmit yes? Need to change settings?
Once it finds the frequency you press the menu button to save it. HOWEVER if the original transmitter has a Tone to open the channel on their radio then you will have to try different tones till you find the right one. but the intial info should be enough.
Which is better baofeng triband UV5RH 10 watts or quansheng uv k6 multi band 5 watts?
IMO - UV5RH for general use - Quansheng for playing with Firmwares and Modding (but dont transmit without testing output)
Good video and shows what can happen when trying to do a demo. You got there in the end 😂👍
You got that right! :)
How to save what was scanned into a channel or do I have to enter it manually?
Just press the menu button and it will ask you which channel to save it in.
That's longer than 5 seconds.
lol from when the ptt is pressed to the result
@ham-fam I'm just messing with you. I actually learned a couple of new things watching your video. I have a couple of Baofeng radios that I started playing with and was able to set them up last night watching your video onlt took me a lot longer than you, lol.
Can you teach us how to change sa boot logo?
Im aiming to get another video up this week
