    BEST SOUND IBANEZ FOR METAL IN HISTORY!!!! In more than 20 years of playing metal, I had own many Ibanez models from mid to high-end models. But this guitar is just the best sounding Ibanez I ever had!!!

    Thanks for the review! I’d like a higher end guitar & wasn’t sure which way to go - Surh, PRS, Jackson? This one definitely caught my eye. I play Metal but also want the versatility. It sounds as though this one will cover it all.

    I can really recommend this guitar as well - I got the one RG5320 with the Tone Zone pickup-combo in it, the finish thereof is known as 'Deep Forest Green Metallic'.
    It's big fun to play that beauty, especially if yer into Heavy Metal and like the classic 80s sound in general.
    If I had the chance, I'd buy this one too. Looks awesome! :O

      A lot of times where it’s made isn’t indicative of quality of workmanship but they usually use lesser electronics and hardware. I have a mid 90’s Ibanez RG570 and the body and neck are amazing but it had horrific pickups in it that sounded so bad and a cheap locking tremolo. Switched the pickups and tremolo and it’s as good as anything you can buy for a lot more! Paid $400 for it lol

    The only criticism I have against these new models is the fact that they refuse to put flame maple caps with faux flame binding and matching headstock’s. I hate these new finishes, I think they look tacky and a result of rising costs of wood or maybe Ibanez saying " been there, done that " or finding new methods for finishes. These new finishes remind me of those rg’s back in the 2000´s that had limited editions with custom finishes, they don’t do it for me like flame maple caps. Bring back the 3120´s and RGA121´s!!

      Gotta go J Custom if you want Japanese build and really nice transparent flame tops. Or go for the tier below Premium series.

      @@Cognitoman yea, wood shortages and regulations makes it rough on availability and cost for a real thick top that looks good. I don’t think they’re interested in thin veneers on their high end models like some brands use on their cheaper lines. Love my J Customs though.

      @@OliRoyer Great info. I've always played traditional American instruments like Gibson and American Fenders (a strat guy through and through), but I want something more aggressive to venture into some doom metal that some friends and I have been experimenting with. I'd like to stick with a Japanese made (or American made guitar) just because the quality tends to be there. I bought a Korean made Schecter back in the day and it was a mess. A lot of the Jacksons (even in that $2000 price range) are made in China, Korea and Indonesia. So that was a bit of a turn off. I'll check out the MJ line of Jacksons as well, but I'm trying to stay at $2000(US) or below.
      Thanks for the info!

    Man... This fret treatment looks like nothing but a joke within this price range! The guitar itself looks beautiful but what they've done to the frets is absolutely unacceptable (simply stopped watching at this point)! I have Indonesian made Ibanez too and what I see here doesn't even come close. And this is what happens way too often. No matter what the guitar brand is. People should start talking about the problem openly 'cause it's just being so unfair to the customers!

      Ive been looking into Prestiges for the supposed flawless craftsmanship. Maybe it’s just the older Prestiges that have the god-tier fretjob. I wonder what year they went downhill though.. Ive read that Premiums are inconsistent compared to Prestiges, yet comparing the two in this video, the Premium’s fretjob is lightyears ahead.

    • @markl9706
      @markl9706 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I can gather from people who know these things, the fret work on the Prestiges with stainless steel frets is not as good as those with nickel frets. Ibanez is relatively new to putting stainless on their guitars and just don't have the fret edge process perfected yet like they do for nickel frets. Not sure if that's the reason, but seems reasonable

    • @steveread3178
      @steveread3178 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Ummm...WHAT?? I have this exact model and the fretwork is SUBLIME. In fact, it's so good you can barely even feel the fret edges - and no other guitar I own does that. I have three now. Never had a neck and fretwork this good. I play for a living, 100+ shows a year, and those Stainless Steel frets are a godsend. Until you play this guiar, you should refrain from making comments which have no basis in fact.

    • @solidus317
      @solidus317 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@steveread3178 yea, the one in this video must have been a slip through the cracks because my RG5120m(blue ocean) RG5170B and J Custom RG8520GE all have flawless, smooth ball end-like fret ends. Even my Genesis RG550 and RG565 have pretty nice and smooth ends albeit not quite as nice but definitely nothing poking out or anything. All of mine were made during or after 2020 so maybe that plays a factor…I’m not sure.
