Great vid guys! One small thing, operating temperature is -10 to 50 degrees internally. When the battery drops below 0 degrees you'll see reduced performance output. Thankfully, when that happens as the system starts charging/discharging it will generate it's own heat pretty quickly to get that output back at what you'd expect. All our equipment is IP65 rated and fine to be fitted outside, all we ask is that you also fit a small canopy above to stop any debris culminating on top of the system restricting airflow. Thanks!
Will you be reviewing the AIO GivGateway2 when released in Q1/2025? Will the AIO-GivGateway2 have thermal management included so that it can go in the garage?
If only they could sort their software out because the hardware and specs seem solid. Do you guys do Fox ESS at all? Heard good things but they don't seem popular so wondering about that.
Is the battery made up of smaller modules? I was thinking that in 10+ years time, if its degraded below a usable point can you just replace a module (or modules) or do you need to get a completely new battery (which maybe a lot more efficient in 10 years time)
We've got a Powerwall 3 review coming to the channel this month but we'll also be doing a comparison of both the Giv Energy AIO and the Tesla Powerwall 3 too!
Was told to avoid the Giv Energy when I went through with the sales guy. Apparently had non-stop problems with them and Heatable wouldn't recommend them.
IV heard this too from a few solar installers too with so much downtime and problems with software side of things. Shame hope they sort things out as it looks promising hardware and good with 12 years warranty but it needs to work with as little problems as possible for the customer.
Save yourself the headache and get a powerwall instead of this. It's now on version 9 of the battery firmware and there are still SoC issues that they cannot seem to fix. Beta software seems to be the theme for this company.
Thumbs down. You can’t have more than 1 connected so limited on battery capacity, it’s not compatible with other Giv inverters and batteries, it can’t go outside, support won’t be great. Mickey Mouse product sadly.
@paulnextlevelbusiness2257 I stated nothing about what it could or couldn't do bud. You made a sweeping statement about it not working in conjunction with other batteries which is false, and that it won't go outside yet it can, with caveat of it being affected by climate. Keep on talking halve truths though, I'm sure it's served you well upto now 😉
@@sdtunstall no sweeping statements all true, I wanted to add one to my existing Giv setup, not possible according to them (not officially supported). Also my existing Giv multi inverter setup wasn’t officially supported either and should work but doesn’t and no support. I have lived with these products and what is/isn’t supported and what does/doesn’t work. Junked the lot and moved to multiple Tesla Powerwalls (installed by Heatable) and they work seamlessly and as described, no beta or half compatibilities. Trying to save others from wasting their valuable money and time.
Hey Ben, I couldn’t have explained it any better myself. Honest review: my AIO is great. I was aware of the cold issue before installation, so as you’ve seen, I opted for installation in the garage right next to the consumer unit and meter. I’m aware of numerous GivEnergy customers who have had issues with AIO, but when you read between the lines, it has generally been down to bad installs. In their early days, there were some software and firmware issues, but it seems that these have been ironed out. I too had a few SOC issues just after installation caused by software and firmware, but between Heatable and GivEnergy, these were swiftly resolved, and the system hasn’t blipped since. I am very pleased with it. I would recommend the GivEnergy AIO. The Tesla may be considered better by some, but it also comes at a higher cost. The AIO is great value for money, with a long warranty, but I always tell people to do their homework to make sure it works for them. The breaking news made me giggle about the 2nd AIO in parallel as you guys are already arranging the install of the 2nd unit 😊

Hey guys, thanks so much for the comment - hopefully this helps clear up some questions from the viewers!
I get that the AIO is capable of being fitted outside but what is the preferred GivEnergy installation location? What do you tell installers?
Will you be reviewing the AIO GivGateway2 when released in Q1/2025?
Will the AIO-GivGateway2 have thermal management included so that it can go in the garage?
Amazing video as always. Editing is a new level.
our new videographer has definitely stepped up our game🔥
@@Heatable How do I keep up with that lol. Truly amazing to see how your channel has developed
Ben , When are you doing the video on the powerwall 3 ?
Hey Steve, the video is filmed and coming to the channel this month, so keep an eye out 👀
If only they could sort their software out because the hardware and specs seem solid. Do you guys do Fox ESS at all? Heard good things but they don't seem popular so wondering about that.
their software is full of issues and faults. AVOID like the plague

The question everybody wants to know the answer to, but nobody seems to know for sure is:- can you connect more than one of these batteries?
It’s not all in one if you have to have a gateway with it too. All in 2 !
you'll have to take that up with GivEnergy 😂
Don't need the gateway
This or a powerwall 3?

0:25 I’d be more concerned about the EMP from the nuclear blast than the functionality of a gateway, which would have been fried.
I'd be more worried about surviving it. If the bombs ever drop I want be at ground zero.

Powerwall 3 review coming to the channel this month 👀
Hi, can you point me to any info on these SoC issues? Thanks!
its good but you can't put it outside so big thumbs down from me
You can with a canopy
Yes, if you're looking to place your battery outside, a Powerwall would be a better option.
Ermmmm 11:47
Givenergy state the AIO works down from - 10 to +50C on their site and datasheets. Not sure if this video content is correct?
It can be installed externally and is IP65 rated.
The canopy is required where the cooling vents may get blocked with leaves etc.
I don’t want to be rude, but the idea you can fairly review anything is a bit much.
Which bit don’t you agree with
Giv- energy = crap

Didn't watch the video through did you 😂
Not sure you understood about beta either. Beta is code for sort of works.
