      Hi, based on your issue, may I ask have you encounter any issue?
      Whether you want to extend your WiFi with ASUS AiMesh?
      Have you try the steps according to the video or the FAQ at the description box?
      Could you provide the details of the problem?
      Could you provide the product model and OS version?
      Thank you.

    Totally love Asus AIMesh systems. Works incredibly well providing very strong wifi to outside cameras. Asus router just plain work. Have always worked great for our network.

    This system is a disaster to setup. The router discovers the nodes instantly but after 3 minutes fails to setup and doesn't tell you specifically why instead gives you not 2 not 3 not 4 but 5 generalizations that mean nothing and are obvious. Far more troubleshooting needs to be included in the firmware.

    So does this mean that the nodes don't have to be connected to the network via cable? I can just add a node via AIMesh and it will connect via wifi to the main router?

    • @asus_support
      @asus_support  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, that's correct.

    Do the mesh router(extender/node) also need a network cable plugged in as the main one for it to work as a node or no? ^^

    • @asus_support
      @asus_support  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hi, based on your issue, mesh routers or nodes do not necessarily require a network cable to be plugged in as the main one for them to function. Mesh systems are designed to create a wireless network infrastructure where the nodes communicate with each other wirelessly to extend the network coverage.
      Thank you.

    It's so annoying how you are showing this setup on a mobile app. You think people wAnting to go with an advanced mesh network don't have PCs?
    Please do this using the browser router UI.

    This may be an interesting problem, and you may want to do a sketched map of the topology to keep clear on it. First, let me list my proposed AI Mesh network topology for my 3600 square foot house, horse arena , and detached garage which is between house and arena. ISP Modem is in basement/garage, and router 1, an XT9 AX7800 (#1) mesh router would locate next to modem connected by cat 6. Router 2, an RT-AX86U Pro, almost directly upstairs (in the "den") from the XT9 #1 is connected by Cat 5 to router 1. Router 3, another XT9 AX7800 (XT9 #2) would be in a loft 50 feet away from router #2 connected by Cat 8 ethernet cable. That all seems like a rather straightforward whole house wifi system, and IF we were not going to outbuildings the home could probably be covered by the XT9's alone.. For arena wifi "reception" I have a Winegard Extreme 2.0 outdoor WiFi "extender" that I hope to use in bridge mode to connect wireless from Router 3 (the XT9 in the loft) to an RT-AX82U in the arena (in a heated room) by cable from the Extreme 2. Presently my ISP's modem is running through (cat 6 connection) an ISP supplied router to , by cat 5, my RT-AX86U Pro (in the Den ) which connects by cat-8 ethernet to My RT-AX82U, which is presently in the loft. This existing system is not "mesh", but is a single SSID system enabled by changing the fixed IP of one of the routers. I have checked signal strength in the arena at the location where the Extreme 2 antenna would mount, and get a usable signal with the "top bar" of the strength "meter" white but have 50 meg down, 20 meg up in 2G mode, 5G pretty weak. I assume the extreme 2.0 can work with that.. I have several questions about this topology. Question 1, should I put my AC1900 (from an old network setup) in the detached garage (halfway between house and arena) as a boost to the signal? Would it act as a boost in mesh mode? I assume it would enhance power level at the extreme 2 antenna simply by expanding coverage area, or be a waste due to the AX9 having a larger coverage area - you would know the answer to that better than me.. Question 2, will the extreme 2 in "bridge" mode bridge, connected by Cat8 ethernet to the RT-AX82U, bridge the wireless distance of the mesh and maintain a mesh network, or simply become client node of the mesh network? Either is OK, I am just wondering how to configure the RT-AX82U, as a mesh node or a client. End use in arena is for security cameras and internet radio on RJ45 as opposed to wireless) , as well as guest wifi and non-voice on our phones when we are out there. That is it for now.. I am an ASUS fan, and I have used Asus motherboards exclusively since my days at Intel, where I worked supplying next-generation server/workstation board info with several Taiwan computer/motherboard vendors (Asus included of course) on DP Xeon server/workstation motherboard designs, and some of your server/workstation veterans from the 2002-2012 time frame may remember me.. I am looking forward to your feedback! Scott Lee, Washington State, USA

      Maybe try it on a short jumper size piece of Ethernet to test ? It seems like logically it would work since it would have connection…sometimes distance can cause problems but sounds like you aren’t going super far
