Fyi its not a spoiler if the games are predictable and with ubisoft these days most of their games are. Either they're pa 80s war clone or Ass creed or a combination of their assets.
Remember when Far Cry had playable protagonists neither personalities all their own and voiced their dissent/incredulity at the events befalling them. Now they're as dull and uninteresting as Artyom from Metro.
@@johnnytopgun6414 Except the characters in Metro: Exodus react like Artyom has a voice, personality and opinions of his own (with how much they talk to you about their hopes, dreams and act like you've talked to them in return). This is before you consider he talks during the loadings of a Chapter. So which is it? Is he the player insert? Or is he his own character? The Metro series tries to do both and does it badly.
@@michaelandrews117 It's a bit of a shame, because while it worked in the first two games it definitely was more obvious in Exodus. Especially given the fact that the Sam's Story DLC proved they _can_ do voiced protagonists and they can do them _well._ The next Metro game featuring Artyom, if it exists at all, should definitely have him as a voiced character.
AAA games start making the apocalypse "colorful" since fo4. Or their marketing dept just figure that people are sick of brown and bloom now so let's give our decades old meaningless gameplay loop a new coat of paint.
@@JuanCruz-qe9ic it made more sense with its structure and the villains actually felt like they were in control of the land and even of you. The whole kidnapping you for main missions thing was great for that and the guns felt more real than other far cry games. Or most games in general thanks to the realistic ballistics. Whether or not the story or characters worked for you is on you. I thought they were well written and given time to develop.
They've went down hill since 3. Since 3 had vas (who they killed off halfway through) they've just been trying to do that in every game since with low success. Although I did like how if you just waited at the beginning of 4 you just do what you went there for and the whole game was mostly just pointless
The micropayments point is unfair, because while it does exist, you certainly don't need it. My brother and I blasted through New Dawn and are doing all the side bits currently, and we are swimming in resources. It's all about upgrading smartly, pick weapons and health before vehicles so you can take out the stronger dudes

What's the story here? Two olsen twins run around fucking up for decent people in a landscape fertilized with LSD. And that's the interpretation of if, the actual plot is less than that.
What was from with Far Cry 1 where you had mutants that later became intelligent mutants and you traversed the island seeing soldiers and Tyrant from RE 3 streaking fighting each other and it's the only game in any game where you're actually vulnerable in your fucking car even with guns, the moment you see Tyrant's balls flashing off the moonlight you immediately do a U turn and fuck off become he fucks you off the road with his rocket launcher
Knowing that Yahtzee will one day review *HuniePop*
it fills me with determination!
Already?!
Huniepop 2 maybe. You can only hope
KEEP GOING!!!!
Shouldn't that technically be something along the lines of: "The power of waifus shine within you"?
Use it if you want to, Acres
Please stop
I'll just be thankful for the double zero punctuation :D thanks yahtz.
"Ohh how lovely you shouldn't have" - I am dying
I really enjoyed New Dawn. I never even looked at the Microtransactions and ended up with enough resources to craft every weapon in the game after doing the expeditions.
Same here, although one might admit that if there were no microtransactions, there wouldn't be need for grinding materials in capturing outposts and expeditions couple of times each. And outfit parts drop rates are ridiculously low, that might be the worst part of grind (thank god there's no dupes (at least I think there isn't))
LMAO! Just picture some fuckin' guy crawling out from his basement, swinging the bulkhead doors open, beer in one hand, and the stereotypical red baseball cap. "Gosh, that was a pisser!" BAAAAAAH HAAA HAAAAA what a jagoff!
This is feels like FARCRY from other post apocalypse games with just colorful it is .😁👌
Car Fry Dew Nawn is the video game equivalent of making a photocopy of a photocopy. If the photocopier were 10 years old and were pushed off of the roof of a 100 ft building.
I wish to see the quilt.
say what you want about the series, blood dragon will still be my favorite far cry dlc to this day.
I said it before but they really were trying so hard to make any kind of sense with the outlandish ending. I also think they were probably trying to rush it out before other post apocalyptic games like Metro Exodus.
Yahtz, are you going to do a retro review for ac rogue?
"Hey guys, it Scarce here, and today is going to be a double upload."
I'm glad I'm not the only one that got out the car during the demo derby and just exploded everyone.
Would you ever consider making a video for Darkest Dungeon? Before the 2nd game is released?
You may want to check out Touhou Luna Night, yatzee. It's a metroidvenia, and I get the impression that you like them.
It's out! Praise Yahtzee
I quite like new dawn and the twins. Granted it might be because I love die antwoord and the twins showed up playing “fatty boom boom”.
I said the same thing and I love you did this
ironically, blood dragon and primal were two of the best far cry games.
theshadowcult blood dragon is, to this day, still one of the best single player shooter campaigns I’ve ever played. It’s amazing what happens when studios make games that are meant to be fun.
I really loved Primal.
Anyone else grabbed popcorn for this review?
The best part about far cry 5 and new dawn is how everyone seems to love you no matter how much of an asshole you are. Like at the start this camilla (i think) saves your life, and then i immediatly knocked her unconcious to see if they let me and left her to die face down in a pond, then later she acts like your best pal anyway.
"Can I borrow a cup of violence?"
This guy is so well spoken
Those ending jokes are gold
Crazy Tia and Tamera from "Sister Sister?" Oddly sounds like it could be fun. However, fuck Ubisoft.
Somehow I was never able to find the entrance to the destruction derby and had to do it all on foot.
"Well haha!" That was me when I watched this
Fyi its not a spoiler if the games are predictable and with ubisoft these days most of their games are. Either they're pa 80s war clone or Ass creed or a combination of their assets.
Remember when Far Cry had playable protagonists neither personalities all their own and voiced their dissent/incredulity at the events befalling them.
Now they're as dull and uninteresting as Artyom from Metro.
Artyom was always supposed to be silent you're supposed to take in the post apocalyptic landscape over anything that he could ever say
Why did I expect the Highwaymen to be lead by Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jenning, and Kris Kristofferson?
I'm getting some Rage 2 vibes out of this Far Cry .
Well this is probably more of a coincidence as both games weren‘t anounced that far ago
AAA games start making the apocalypse "colorful" since fo4. Or their marketing dept just figure that people are sick of brown and bloom now so let's give our decades old meaningless gameplay loop a new coat of paint.
The hell? When did this come out?
This came out a week ago and only has 10k views. I call shenanigans on the algorithm, considering like every zp has like 400k views
They uploaded it by accident then privated it soon after last week then only made it public so it says last week still
I like how he predicted the toilet paper being important almost a year before the pandemic.
2:07 - basically all the villains EXCEPT for Joseph in Far Cry 5 lol
In other words it's a standalone expansion like you use to see like years ago or named games in armored core.
who keeps buying these games? have not played one since 3.
5 was excellent, new dawn was shit
@@nejinaji how was 5 excellent? That was some hot shit
The only one I have remotely enjoyed was three. Frankly I am amazed that there is Farcry games after the original.
The expeditions were pretty fun.
i enjoyed new dawn but i never played far cry 5 i just new the plot which made it much better i think
3:25 for that reason Game Trainers exist.
Should have had more mutant people. That way the asset flips wouldn’t be so insulting with less then half of what they had available. Anyone else miss the Yeti skeleton?
Bloody hell this Blood Dragon remake went south in a hurry
Blood dragon sequel is what i want
They started making blood dragon 3: vietnam war 2.
But for some reason it got cancelled half way through.
This video is the first hint I had that they were making another Far Cry
This one went over my head
Did they actually manage to write a worse villain the Seed?
Damn, and after Vaas and Min to. Did their writers just give up?
Oh fuck all the way off. Joseph Seed was solid, and a better villain than Pagan Min.
So here's the thing. I enjoyed New Dawn, but I don't think it's a good Far Cry game. It's fun, but uninteresting. 6/10 recommend only if you've played Far Cry 5 and enjoyed that first.
2:12 and dont forget to SUBSCRIBE
Yay! If ZPs are being uploaded to youtube, I never have to visit the escapist again!
Don't bother; they stopped updating his page after the Spiderman review.
Watching this video a week before it's supposed to come to youtube? Have I travelled to the future?
happy now vladthetransilvanian?
