I find it very suspect that none of the major influencers are comparing the X4 to the 1-inch. I do not think Insta360 wants that comparison to happen. This camera seems to be marketed using the 8K resolution it has and not the fact that it's the exact same sensor in the X3. I bought the X4 and have the 1-inch and I can say without a doubt that I am keeping my 1-inch and returning the X4. The 1-inch is so much better. If any of you are semi knowledgable about cameras, you know the most import aspect of a camera is its image sensor capability. Light gathering is everything. I will wait for the 8k 1-inch to come out. That will add even more detail to the 1-inch and trust me, it's not missing a ton. The X4 is only necessary if you need a waterproof camera without using additional accessories or want something a bit lighter, but if you own the 1-inch, I say save your money.

Hugh Hou has comparisons. You do get more detail in 8k, but the low light is worse.
Interesting thx... I like all the "hype" derived from the launch of the X4, and I "consume" much content about it... because I like it 😉. But to some extent I had a suspicion that this X4 is not such a huge tech leap. In this context, your comment definitely helps me understand it better and consolidate my point. Btw, is it possible to export videos with the 1-inch in a resolution higher that 1080p? Because for instance, with the X3, OK i can shoot a video in 360º at 5.7 K, but the maximum resolution I can get when exporting that video is 1080.
Some people need water resistance so x series better. I have x3, till now I habe not used in water, but maybe one day will be needed, and last year my budget didn't allow to get 1 inch, but soon I hope I will get 1 inch to have with my x3. And if longer water videos will be needed then need to get x4, unless 1 inch will become waterproof

I had a insta 360 x2 but cracked the lenz so this cam is very impressive, tried to buy the 3 and they sent me the 2 , so I sent it back . Now they got the 4, if I buy I will use yur link 4 sure. Yes, it is probably the best thing from Insta360. 8K is a powerful upgrade, but it's in 360. And then resolution won't be more than 2.7K in 360. But it's a cool camera, would have liked to test it.

GoPro are trash with their overheating. I was going for an DJi Action4…… Then this beast comes along and steals the show.
Definitely getting the Insta360 X4 as my 1st action camera.
I would watch comparison TH-cam videos before I make the X4 decision as your 1st action camera... Nothing wrong with the DJI Osmo 4

I got Insta 360 RS one and atleast 6 Gopro's, yes you could get some stunning shots like a drone, Even on manual mode when re-framing, loses a lot of video quality, thats where the editing comes, my point is a 360 cameras need editing to look good, unlike other action cameras
I wouldn’t mind editing more if it meant having more flexibility with angles. You never know when something cool happens nearby but not in your GoPro’s camera view. That’s where 360 comes in. But hey to each their own right 🤙🏻
I been messing with this, and in normal rooms the 8k even downsized to 1080 is pixeled as hell. This camera needs some well-lit environments to perform very good. Which is fine with me, I'm just understanding this is damn near a daytime outside kind of camera unless you put the work in to make it look nice in a dim setting or regular lit environment.
Basically if the ISO is over 400, you're screwed lol BUT this camera is sooo crazyyy when you have the right lighting.

8K is the at least for 360 vids. I feel like I got 720p or 560p footage with the 5,7K res if I zoom in. I wasn't able to use the 360 on this reason for professionell footage. I really hate it, how I loss quality in order to get normal-camera-like perspective with it. It's horrible! I even prefer to see more in the future. More res is much more fun and flexibility, especitally if your record is a full sphere. That's been an essential update IMAO to keep up slowly with the time and expectations.
I been bored that they just updated the housing and the image input but not this important perspective. I don't need on my phone the 100 MP feature. But I do need to zoom in as hell in order to have a look of "normal camera used and not the sphere one".

(499.00) I’ll give you an example of another 360 camera insta does, Insta360 Titan - 11K sold as a pro ,It’s nice, especially with dark but we enjoy the x3 more , so for just a bit more the x4 can only be better.? We’ll know in a couple of days. But I wouldn’t dis it yet.
Titan is overpriced without question marks. Uses many SD cards, this is an old technology. I wasn't impressed enough with it neither.
I didn't care about the 500-ish price tag. There is a sweet spot between 500 and stellar pricing. I was imagining an X4 Like device for about 800 or 900 as an alternative. But in the past, in 2024.
In 2024 I want more resolution than this. But I still have to say finally. At least this X4 ist Out with 8K. Soon or later but we will meet my expectations.
Few years ago when Mini 1 and 2 was developed, I wished for an 4K Drone with full 360 obstacle avoidance. The Mini 4 is here and I do own it. Wasn't my dream to pay that price for it, but still worth it and I do it, when needed.
But I feel Titan a weak try and I wrote already why.
Everything's in this video except the damn suction cups that you're using. That is the main focus besides the damn camera.

Angles are great but the reframing is always sooo much work and if we are all honest, the image just sucks! Even for an action cam :). I think for regular people a phone is the better option 99% of the time
