The 8-Bit Big Band is a 30 member Jazz/pops orchestra that formed to celebrate and realize some of the best themes from video game music written from all consoles and eras! Blending together themes from Nintendo, Sega, Playstation, PC, and more and then re-arranging in genres and styles of all musical inspirations for big band or pops orchestra instrumentation and orchestration.

I've honestly listened to this well over a hundred times and to this very moment this song still brings me to tears of joy. Everything about this arrangement down to the visuals is an absolute delight.

I'm actually crying uncontrollably to this. I don't know what any of the japanese means, but hearing "You're lonely, rolling star" sounds like someone recognizing what's wrong and reaching out to help me be less lonely, offering friendship. It's something I could really use right about now

This song really does contain those kinds of bittersweet feelings. As far as I know, the original singer/writer's best friend passed away, and she wrote this song, about someone encouraging you to just keep on rolling, and that person will be waiting for you at the end of your journey. I think we all have someone like that. And now I'm crying haha!
Very late in, but the lyrics are very bittersweet as well. ^^ The singer is telling somebody they love that its okay to chase their dreams and they'll still support them and cheer them on..but at the same time the singer misses them and hopes the loved one comes back to visit ("don't forget to call me, okay?").
It's a song about loving people and supporting them and missing them that somehow perfectly translates from the music alone even if you don't know the lyrics and I'm not crying it's just the wind.

I'm in absolute awe. This game made up the majority of my childhood, having one of my favorite game soundtracks to this day. No piece of music I've ever listened to has given me the uncontrollable SOBBING that this one has, and it's an experience I thought people only exaggerated having. You've created something completely ethereal in my heart and mind, and as a musician I can't be more impressed. Thank you for your hard work, all of you.
This is one my absolute favorite game tracks. There's just something so tantalizing and wondrous about it. It makes me feel so bright and always has.
My ringtone for years was Aivi and Surasshu's rendition of it on their album The Black Box (competely worth checking out and buying!)

I've never even played Katamari Damacy and I love this, might have to pick it up from the sheer positivity radiating from this.
I actually broke down listening to this. Such a beautiful melody.
The part that blows me away about live performances like this is every single person has to be absolutely amazing at their individual part. Nobody besides the lead singer really gets the spotlight, but there are 20 different people doing everything perfectly to make something like this sound great.
That's what it means to be a pro musician. Thousands of hours practicing and playing in all kinds of groups. Only in NYC.
