Gen 2 is my fav (even though Squirtle is not in it haha!) I like the fact that pokemon started branching out with new types and started getting more creative and daring with the pokemon designs too

If you weren't alive in the early 2000s, you won't under how groundbreaking generation 2 was. A new nap, a new set of Pokemon with new legendaries, new game features, a game clock, etc. It will always be the most special generation in my mind

Generation 1 will forever be my favorite because of the nostalgia of a time that was golden and every day life revolved around Pokémon, the Pokémon TCG, and talking about it at school with your friends all day!! I appreciate all you do Leon 💙
It has to be generation 1. My childhood was all about TCG battles with my friends, getting enough money to go and buy a booster pack and open up it, getting more cards to build better pack. 💜 Was awesome to watch you open up all the gens. Much love from Finland.

Gen 1. It’s what started it all and being a kid growing up in the 90’s, this was it…trading with friends during indoor recess, carrying the pokedex binder home from school, GBC original games. Gen 1 baby!
My favorite generation is Gen 5 and the reason I love it is the exact reason so many hate it: because it was an entire new pokedex, no new Pokemon. It forced me to use a whole new team instead of relying on my favorites and as a result I gained some beloved Pokemon from that generation
Gen 2, I was young for gen 1 but I was still so into the show and fire version. When gen 2 came out something clicked in me and it’s been addiction ever since. Gen 2 still has the crazy nostalgic and magical feel of gen 1. At the same time it showed the potential of the franchise even as a kid.. after gen 2 I knew Pokémon was there to stay for the long haul. Also come on… steel and dark type are two of the coolest types. Steelix, houndoom, scizor, tyranitar, simply legendary
Gen 2 has to be my go to gen. Just something about Crystal really connected with me and it was technically my intro to Pokemon. It was good enough to get my first starter, Totodile, tattooed on my wrist
Got to be Gen 1, the nostalgia about the Saturday mornings watching the TV show and the excitement with your favourite pokemon on collectable cards in the school playground was something ill never forget.
Gen 1 is my favorite, always will be. It is the reason why I have the passion for Pokemon to this day. It was great to be around for the start of Pokemon, I think a lot of Pokemon lovers who are younger and haven't got to enjoy the very start when Professor Oak started explaining the world of Pokemon. No matter what age you are, it's a love that you can enjoy and even pass on to your kids and enjoy it with them. I can't wait to show my kids when they get older the OG Gameboy with Red/Blue so they can see the graphics we played with compared to what they have now

Pokemon as a child was my escape from the real world. I hold gen 1 and gen 2 really close to my heart. My favorite series is team rocket. I used Pokemon as an escape from my mother's abusive husband and still to this day Pokemon is near and dear to me. I have collected for 25 years. I remember when Pokemon came out in the us. My first card was a Cubone. Love this channel and hope one day to have a collection like Leonhart.

My fav is gen 1 because of my childhood for when I started watching and collecting. And of course, Charizard is my fav Pokémon. But everyone in my neighborhood was watching, trading and battling Pokémon. In elementary and middle school that's all we talked about and sneaking cards in your lunch box or book bags to show off or trade. Thats when life was so simple. Gen 1 is my favorite pokemon generation because, I grew up watching pokemon back in 19's and I always remember the emotional scene when charmander abandoned by his trainer and ash found charmander in the middle of the rain and decided to catch charmander, the rest is history. gen1 pokemon is the best aside from cards it has the most great stories to remember.
When I started collecting, I remember having gen 5 as a modern sets, and as fun as it was collecting all sets coming after it, Gen 8 really has some beautiful Alternate artworks that make the sets so fun to open. Brilliant Stars and Evolving Skies specifically and it’s amazing to have them at a not so costly expense to open up. I’ve only ever pulled one alt art for myself and it’s one of my favorite cards in my whole collection! Can’t ditch the older sets though, they bring a lot of nostalgia

My favorite generation is 1st gen, for sure! I can remember riding to Target with my parents to get boosters with my hard earned allowance. Also at my 10th birthday party we gave out base set packs in the "goodie bags".. my friend ended up pulling a Charizard and I was so mad! HE pulled the Charizard at MY birthday party hahaha.. good times! Pokemon will always have a place in my heart!
Gen 1 is my favorite. As a kid I was only into the anime I was too young to get into RPGs and my parents never bought me the cards and I have many fond memories of the anime. Now I’m a dad and my son loves the first season of the anime and rewatching it was a huge treat. I’m expecting another boy in September and I cannot wait to show him Pokémon
My favorite gen of Pokémon is gen one. The reason foe this is because I was literally a kid. Growing and learning and you can't exactly get rid of the nostalgia factor. Like the first pack that you ever opened gives you the highest dopamine hit ever. Love gen one
I started collecting/playing pokemon around the xy and sun + moon era, so those gens are special to me. But the sword and shield cards are so cool, I especially love the trainer gallery cards.

Gen 1 will always have a special place in my heart because I got Red and my Gameboy, as a child while recovering from surgery, so it just hits different. I do genuinely really enjoy gen 2/3 a lot too and still enjoy Pokemon games till this day :D
Outside of Gen 1 for nostalgia reasons, I love gen 2 and think that they are very underatted and never really got too much of them in the TCG!
Gen 1 are still the most fun for me to watch people open. I had so much fun playing and collecting those when my brothers and I were young

my favorite is gen 3. by far my fondest memories in pokemon. so much about the games themselves, the mons were so cool, and the way to find the regi's was so awesome.
3rd gen is the gen I was old enough to understand Pokémon and the first Pokémon game I ever beat. So gen 3 has a special place in my heart.
Unpopular opinion but gen 6 is my favorite. Pokemon Y was my first ever Pokemon game and is what got me to love Pokemon so much today and find so many of these great content creators like Leonhart.
Gen 1! Starting collecting when my dad was still alive. He passed when I was 8! Now I'm collecting with my son and he's almost 8! Its a great memory
Honestly just got back into it, favorite was base set . Now I have kids and they have been collecting and are always excited to get cards, so my favorite as of now are all of it. Opening packs with them makes me relive the excitement of 1st gen base set for me.
first gen but i started collecting for the first time since i was a kind last year when celebrations came out. and watching your shows learned so much and gym heros is one of my favorite sets ill never get to open because it cost so much by the time i knew it existed
Generation 2. When gold and silver came out for the game boy, I spent countless hours. I didn't get to open very many packs either which made it even more mysterious.
Gen 1 was always my favorite. My brother introduced me to pokemon at a very young age. He let me play pokemon red with him and I still haven't had a better pokemon experience since.
You know it's gotta be gen 1. From the packs to Christmas when I got a Gameboy and a copy of Pokemon blue.. the memories can't be topped
My favorite is Gen 3. It’s the last game I played as a kid, before taking a break until Gen 8. I find myself using a lot of Gen 3 Pokémon on teams in my playthroughs, whenever possible
Never a doubt, it’s Gen 2. And quite honestly, it’s because Gold was always my favorite game to play. I love the music, I love the Pokémon. Totodile is my very favorite starter of all time. It Was all around, one of, if not the best games Pokémon ever released in my opinion.

Started collecting in Gen 1, left in Gen 2, and came back in Gen 8. Have to say Team Rocket Gen 1 is still one of my favourite sets, with the squirtle and dark blastoise being some of my favourite art work all time.

My favorite generation of Pokemon was 5. It was fresh. The games were awesome and sucked me in from start to finish. And it's what got me back into collecting Pokemon cards
Gen 4 because of Pokemon Diamond. That game (and pearl) was a great way to make friends. Lucario and Gallade are two of my favorites of all time and I like how they gave single evolution mons another evolution.
My earliest memories with pokemon are with gen 4, watching Pokemon: Diamond and Pearl, and then little bit of collecting at school, where even I started collecting last, I got the biggest collection :D Amazing generation that got me into pokemon.
I'm very old school and you can't beat the og gen 1! Grew up with fossil and jungle sets being my favourite!

I love the first generation! The nostalgia really hits hard. I remember waking up in the morning and watching the tv show with my brother and trading cards at school. Oh the good ol’ days.
Gen 1 is my favourite. I remember getting packs for my sixth birthday and the nostalgia of the original cards always makes me happy
Well, gen 4 for me. I still remember it was Christmas 2007 I got my first Nintendo DS and my first game was Pokémon Diamond. Still remember picking my starter Chimchar !!! Sitting in my PJs by the fire playing the game that day and just falling in love with the entire Pokémon franchise !!!
I've always been a fan of the gen 4 games (the first ones I played) but the gen 2 pokemon are definitely my favourite watching the anime/cartoon as a kid. Some of my most vivid memories as a kid are playing pretend pokemon fights with my trusty cyndaquil and teddiursa!
The 3rd generation was by far my favorite generation, mainly because I was ten or so when this generation released and I played Ruby religiously. Not to mention that my favorite Pokémon, Blaziken is from this generation also.

Certainly generation 1 since that was the I first got into Pokémon. Some of my best memories were heading to the mall with my mom and picking up a few packs from the card shop. Afterwards, I would hang out to trade with fellow collectors. Great times.
Gen 2 has the most nostalgia to me. Loved the new Pokémon but tour of gen 1 for the 2nd half. So good.
I have so much nostalgia for gen 1 and 2 so I have to give it to them for being my favorite (gen1>2). The hype was unlike anything else and I had so much fun with the trading cards, tv show & movies, toys etc. I remember very vividly pulling my base charizard in the backseat of my mom’s car and I freaked out
I love neo destiny. It just takes me back to the good old days. I could watch openings for 12 hours straight.
Definitely Generation 2. Absolutely loved playing in two separate leagues in one game. And of course Ho-oh being Ashes first legendary he sees.

I really hope Leon goes back to videos that are roughly this length. The main reason these videos worked out so great for me is because of when and where are usually watch them. The shorter videos don’t really fill the gap that I need them to fill. And yes, I know how selfish that sounds lol.

Generation 2 was the height of my Pokemon card collection memories. Spending all my allowance on packs every Friday is some of my favorite memories.
Gen 1. I have a distinct memory of going to Toys R Us in the UK, buying a Venasaur art base pack for £2.50 and packing my first ever Pikachu from it

Imposter prof Oak was hilariously the ONE card that eluded me as a kid from a complete set. I pulled 3 Charizards before I got an IPO. If only I had known how valuable they would be down the road. :(
Gen 1. Like you said, I remember going into Toys 'R Us every weekend and picking up a couple of packs. Nothing will beat opening up those original WOTC packs. They should bring back 1st edition sets.

Gen 1 easily is my favorite. I remember discovering pokemon when my friend brought his Gameboy outside one day with pokemon blue. And being the only one of my friends that chose Bulbasaur as my starter.
My mom would bring me home packs every Friday as my allowance for chores. I'll never forget the best Friday. She bought me the usual.. 1 Base set pack, 1 fossil and 1 jungle. But bought me an extra Japanese team rocket pack because she said she thought it looked cool. Finally pulled base set charizard that day. And the bonus pack I pulled the dark charizard. Even she lost it. She was so happy for me.

I really dig Gen 6. It brings back so many good memories before my life absolutely changed in both good and bad ways. Every time I hear the Anistar City theme it hits me

My favorite generation for the cards is definitely gen 1. Old school, collecting with my dad when I was five years old. Priceless memories and I still have the Raichu he gave me, not first edition but I'll never get rid of it. For the games, my favorite is gen 3, the whole gen is fantastic, RSE, FRLG, and the gamecube games definitely have the most hours out of me

My favourite gen is the second one. Pokémon gold was the first game i ever played and that´s why i have this love for the gen. Being able to travel from johto to kanto has been one of my favourite things about pokémon.

I'm building a full collection of the team rocket set and an extra pack would help greatly. Love the videos, and I'm a sucker for the neo anything openings always. I wish I had collected more of that set as a kid. Second gen is definitely my favorite gen aesthetically.
