It' funny how alpha star is so human in some of its aspects: "Shit, I'm floating 4k minerals. I should've expanded minutes ago. Quick, build a hatchery on every single base on this map!" I regularly come back to your alpha star commentary, it never cease to amaze me. Even though I don't even play Starcraft, I hope the work and effort you put into the series pay off for you one day!
The healing from the ships to the marines @13:16 was really cool to see. It looked like what you would expect from individual players piloting the units, and some of the units got healed through the incoming damage it looked like, which is cool with such a small health bar to be able to pull that off!
Am I the only one that feels like having AI be able to get to pro level gameplay in different competitive games is something that should be very valuable? I am a little surprised that 1. the developers wouldn't want to integrate the alphastar AI into the game in a more permanent manner and let players play against or observe custom games of alphastar vs alphastar whenever they want. and 2. That other games wouldn't want to invest in the same thing for their games. Instead it seems like its just disappearing for now as an experiment completed. I guess my dreams of an alpha totalwar AI will just have to stay dreams.
The zerg plays in the way best suited to the zerg. Even shackled and not working with the most experience in the late game due to its matches ending so fast. Mass expansion and overwhelming econ is simply the best way to zerg. Massive creep spread and unit production. It is the swarm.
Well AI are awesome when they play starcraft especially if they are self learning Just wondering how it would react if said a person would play alongside and thus could be a nuisance due to limited resource co'op for example.
Nah bro, I hope blizzard goes bankrupt already and someone else gets a go at its IPs, the second microtransactions touched their games, everything went to shit, they don't deserve their own IPs.
Could you arrange for a bot, or several different bots, playing with smurf names against unsuspecting players on the ladder? And see how people handle playing against bots, when they don't know that they are playing against a bot?
AlphaStar actually played ladder anonymously in 2019. LowKo has some videos where he played ladder matches and suspected he might play against AlphaStar and, as far as i remember, at least one of the matches got confirmed that he indeed played one of the AlphaStar agents.
The sound at the end of the video is not synced and the sound quality is not good at all, you probably should use a mic closer to your mouth just like when you cast.
It is a waste of potencial... They should use this AI as support to a player, so people can focus on the strategic side of the game, not an execution. I want to decide where to atack, expand, what composition of units are to be made and control individual units when it's needed... Zerg could win long time ago, if he decided to made a few corruptors and heal them.

0:30 "AlphaStar playing with itself" that sounds dirty
It nuts and then it bolts
I would love to be able to download and run Alphastar on my own PC. It would be awesome if they made it available.
I want co-op with alphastar. So I can focus more on strategy than clicking and tactics.
Yeah and looking at how it should be played
@@jtjames79 i dream of this game for some time 😍

It actually doesnt get annihilated by any top tier grandmaster; it smashed them (serral, mana, ...) and it was not even close games

What are you talking about? In beginning It beated Mana, but later alphastar got owned very hard by many players.
200 MB for the agent tensorflow model is much smaller than I'd have thought. Is it accessible to the public?

Alpha zerg should have gotten mutas to counter medicvacs,
chance them down and defend the flanks
We need a Alphastar vs Alphastar and a Alphastar vs ladder series those games are too good 😵💫
Amazing match! Thanks for sharing it with us
Love these from you , you do an excellent job commentating these!
Feels like ALphastar's zerg should be taught to deal with liberators efficiently.
Interesting game. Thx for the cast

Wow I didn't know mark Normand casted sc2
Now i cannot unhear his voice
The Robots are coming for us.

10:27 But wasn't Alpha star like super weak against cheese too?
Why no marauders ?
Why is the apm low in this game?

If most games don't go into lategame then it might get more buggy and make derpie decisions in lategame
If I could play half as good I maybe in the Diamond league or better :D.
AlphaTerran channeling MarineKing Prime there.
If there will ever be a StarCraft 3 (and assuming it's made by the good soul of blizzard that vanished), where would you see yourself in it?
I’d probably make as much time to tryhard on launch, get game knowledge, and maybe make some guides/videos!

Alphastar is nice, but I'm also excited to get AI arena casts back :) .
Im surprised the creepspread is so bad for an ai
AlphaStar was machine learning so it basically has human creep spread
Could you arrange for a bot, or several different bots, playing with smurf names against unsuspecting players on the ladder? And see how people handle playing against bots, when they don't know that they are playing against a bot?
You can play against bots but unfortunately not put them on the ladder so your opponent would know!

Alpha zerg even messed up with ultralisks staying stuck behind queens and they still won. AI Zerg is king.
Literally such an epic game
Awesome. Looking forward to more ai games
queens can't transfuse off creep anymore ..>SADNESS

hm sounds mostly clean to me
AlphaTerran is just SilverTerran
The terran actually seems better than the top terrans, but the zerg seems worse than the top zerg.
background music was horrible :(. Nice game though
Really people… “how much compute power does it take to run” and “how many kilobytes is alpha star” That’s all you could think of? Way to blow it 👎
Can I 1v1 this thing? A weaker version will do too.
You can’t 1v1 AlphaStar but you can 1v1 probots if you google it!
AI prove zerg is overpowered
it actually looks downgraded since last i saw it in action...such delayed reaction times and micro...
Weird game.. the AlphaZero that I saw a few years ago was 20x better than these two.
