Gege (jjk’s author) said Gojo was using Geto as his moral compass in that scene, if Geto had said yes to his question *the Gojo we see today would’ve been a completely different person*
When they said he was “High” he was essentially high on DMT (the chemical released in your brain when you die). And Gojo was so close to death that his brian was probably flooded with DMT which it seems contributed to his “awakening”.
You might be right, and in this case this is not true, cursed energy users can get "high" on it because it is essentially literally a negative energy and when using too much of it sometimes it can affect the brain. Todo explained it to Yuuji at some point telling him negative feelings may enhance his output but not necessarily make him a better user because of it and we also have seen this once before with megumi when fighting the cursed spirit under the bridge who ate sukuna's finger. it essentially gives them a "high" when pushed to the max limit of their abilities. which implies that Toji did really push Gojo to his limit to the point where he had to ascend to higher level of Jujutsu in order to beat someone who doesn't even have cursed energy. Gojo probably would've have reached this level on his own in time since his Six Eyes exist and they simply amplify everything that has to do with controlling and reading cursed energy. but his fight with Toji gave him a shortcut simply because of the life and death situation he was in. going further into the story you're gonna find out why Gojo is literally HIM.
3:49 geto was unable to absorb toji’s curse because there is a master-servant relationship between toji and the worm. geto explains in the volume 0 movie (applying it to yuuta and rika) that he first has to kill the master before he can absorb the curse. edit/addition: this is confirmed by gege in a volume extra.
Deleted my previous comment because I misinterpreted dialogue. Anyways, it’s interesting that he even attempted to steal it! Maybe this was how he found out this limitation
@@cannonandrus5554 He did Getoh says this episode he has to make them submit if they're within 2 (So Special and 1st maybe 2nd) but if theyre weaker he can just take them so Toji used the curse canceling dagger to cancel him using his curse to steal his weapon cache curse.
geto said that he can absorb the curses if "they dont want to be with their master" (im paraphrasing). the curse rejected him, and during the post-credit scene we see the curse saying "mama, hug". this goes to show the curse only wanted someone to embrace it, and since it was always wrapped around toji, it didnt wanna leave his side. thats my headcannon atleast.
@@27westwestNah man, like the guy said, it was because of the Master Servant relationship between Toji and the Inventory Curse. Just like Rika and Yuta, he first had to kill the master because he cannot subdue the curse no matter what because of the bond.
RIP to the GOAT Toji Fushigoru who triggered the creation of another GOAT, Gojo!! 🙏 Also, I find it poetic that Toji left Geto a curse (the worm curse) while he left Gojo a blessing (Megumi means blessing) 😔
HIDDEN INVENTORY 💀 it applies to both Toji and Geto but Getos inventory of curses was mostly a red herring. But now that he has that curse it’s basically screaming meaning to me. Fucking delicious episode
Throughout Season 1 up to this point, we see that Gojo has always been confident, borderline egotistical. His "awakening" cemented that. So the last segment shows Geto acting as Gojo's moral compass. If Geto gave Gojo the "okay" to kill them, Gojo would've done it. His literally being the strongest shows how when you're given absolute power it can corrupt someone, given the situation. The symbolism shows Gojo walking away due to the moral compass of Geto, showing that Gojo has a darker side to him. Yet, Geto faces those people clapping to the death of Amanai. Even though Geto stopped Satoru, he himself is lost there in the moment. When you look at the ground you begin to see the growing darkness within. Geto's ideologies have followed adult Gojo through Season 1 and he uses it to control his darker nature.
it’s so sad… gojo immediately accepts geto’s words, yet geto doesn’t even seem to believe them that much himself. gojo has geto to talk him down, yet geto doesn’t have anyone to help him in this moment.
Plus the color of the bg during that scene represents something. In gojo's technique Blue=Negative energy and Red=Positive energy. Geto in the Blue side represent him having Negative effects cuz of this Incident. Gojo in the Red side cuz he awaken his full potential and had a Positive effect on him
first there is a huge difference between what both said gojo was just mad at this cult followers who caused the girl death and wanted some revenge, i am pretty sure if geto had stop with those village that wanted to kill those girls gojo would have understand, but that not what he asking he asking to kill everyone all people even unrelated people. @@iii-zs3dz
You know the writing and characterization is fkn immaculate when viewers are sad to see the newly introduced villain die against one of the favourite, most established protagonists in the show.
just as some quick fun facts: you guys mentioned how gojo seemed "enlightened" during his fight w toji. well, gojo's first name "satoru" (悟) is actually the japanese word used for enlightment or some kind of spiritual awakening! also, you might have noticed how when gojo says "throughout heaven and earth, i alone am the honored one", it is portrayed in quotes in the subtitles. this is because this phrase in buddhist legend is believed to have been said by Buddha himself right after he was born, and while pointing with his right hand up at heaven and left hand down at earth. so, basically exactly what gojo did after his enlightment!
Ah Buddha never said that. Atleast not in his original teachings in PALI. He never went to china. So I don't think any Chinese guy was there when he was born.
@@Rishu-br6tw "From Literary Chinese 天上天下唯我獨尊. In Buddhist legend, the phrase that Shakyamuni uttered right after he was born and on his feet taking seven steps about, pointing at heaven with his right hand and at earth with his left. This phrase seems to be a more condensed translation of what the Buddha was supposed to say. Compare the Pali aggō hamasmi lōkassa, jeṭṭō hamasmi lōkassa, seṭṭhō hamasmi lōkassa, ayamantimā jāti, natthidāni punabbhavo from the Dīgha Nikāya. A slightly different form is 天上天下唯我為尊, from a Chinese translation of the Dīrgha Āgama. Although the phrase sounds extremely arrogant, especially given that the one who purportedly said it was the founder of Buddhism, and it is indeed used to describe hubris, the 我 (“I/me; self; ego”) could be interpreted as "humans" in general instead of the Buddha alone, expressing a human-centric attitude in a country dominated by Hinduism, a polytheistic religion." from wikitionary! it might not be from any "original teachings" but it /is/ a buddhist legend.
@@mari_beira_mar literary Chinese don't mean anything. Buddha never went to china. Buddhism was introduced to several CENTURIES later in China. He did not attain enlightenment at his BIRTH. And I am pretty sure just like any baby he said , wahhhhh. You could say that the sentence came from Chinese literature . hinduism is not a polytheistic religion. Both modern day hinduism and Buddhism arose PARTLY from bhraminism which arose from Vedic religion. Since there were also many different beliefs like shivatites, krishnites, vishunism etc. Since Europeans and persians looked at the indian subcontinent and thought everything looked similar so they named it all hinduism then VERY later differentiated Buddhism and Jainism from it. Also Vedic religion was an aspect of SANTANA DHARMA. Religion and dharma are very different things.
@@Rishu-br6tw it's not a matter of buddha going to china or not. according to chinese and japanese branches of buddhism, the phrase is from literary chinese AND depicts a buddhist legend. it not existing in the "original buddhism" doesn't mean that it can't exist in zen buddhism. i dont even know why we're having this discussion😭 all the best to you man
If you slam your blade through someone's skull and they don't die from that, they can just take the win. Toji was clean. He put the hands on two of the strongest sorcerers out there and completed his mission. But, Gojo evolved on the brink of death and ascended to being the honored one. Even then, he still kept fighting. Toji remembered his son and died on his feet, leaving everything to Gojo. Goated antagonist. That after credits scene. All those people clapping at seeing Riko's dead body. Crazy how Gojo was just like, "Should we just kill everyone here?" And Geto is opposed to that because there would be no meaning to all that death. Their perspectives are truly and utterly flipped right now.
not disagreeing with the main point you’re giving, but, you had kne thing wrong. Toji stabbed gojo through the throat, not his head. you can rewatch gojo getting bodied or rewatch gojo talking about how he healed his wound before bodying toji. Gojo himself mentioned that that cut went through his throat.
@@monkman1639 Uh, no. They kinda censored it in the anime but Toji definitely got him in the head. You see Toji's knife slam into right below his hair, then he comes back in this episode with a wound in his forehead and is dripping blood from his head. Toji definitely went for the head. But because he A. Didn't decapitate Gojo or B. Hit him in the head with the Spear that disrupts techniques, Gojo lived
I'm glad you noticed Carter. I haven't seen another reaction channel that mentions the curse spirit Toji has is the same one that Geto had in the movie
From “ *We* are the strongest” to "Throughout heaven and earth, I *alone* am the honored one" There are many reasons why Geto chose to leave the school, but few mention the gap in power between him and Gojo after the Star Vessel mission, and the subtle jealousy and loneliness Geto felt about it. This emotion is more apparent in their conversation on the street in the movie. Geto said *"If I could be you... wouldn't my impossible ideal become possible?"*
12:40 Idk if this is a spoiler, but in a volume extra Akutami revealed that Cursed Spirits are just like pets and that you can train them. So essentially Toji trained the worm to obey him, hence there's a master-servant between Toji and the worm
Geto calling nonsorcerers "monkeys" is a buddha vs sun wukong aka monkey king reference. Toji called himself a monkey (sun wukong) and fought Gojo (buddha). In the actual lore, sun wukong the monkey king challenged buddha and got put in his place just as Gojo defeated Toji. Buddha pointed one finger to the sky and one down on earth and said "Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the Honored One".
@@StudioGek and since toji called himself a monkey and he's a nonsorcerer, now you know why geto hates nonsorcerers and calls them monkeys 😭 geto, despite being unconscious, still heard toji call himself a monkey.
"Throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honoured one" This is a quote that is sometimes attributed to the Buddha. Jujutsu Kaisen is ripe with references and allegories to Buddhism. A while before this fight, Toji refers to himself as a "Monkey" with no cursed energy. This situation is not only showing Gojo reaching enlightenment but is also a cheeky reference to Sun Wokung challenging the Buddha in Journey to West.
Megumi's name means "blessed" in Japanese. This is a wish for my son to be blessed because I didn't have magical powers and was not blessed with magic, and I was treated badly by the Zenin clan. Also, a girl's name is easy for him to remember because he's not good at remembering boy names.
Honestly I never picked up on the “I’m not good at remembering boys names” line until rewatching it with this video, and then it clicked why all the “naming me with no regard for my gender” quotes from Megumi were so significant. He did it on purpose because he wanted to be able to remember Megumi’s name.
At the end in the post credit scene, when geto was saying that there needs to be point to the killing, I imagine that geto was just tryna convince himself not to act, sorta like self reasoning, but he he was tryna hold himself back. You can see his pupil twitching as he says it, he coulda snapped right there. He's barely hanging on to his principles
The way he said "Especially for a Jujutsu Sorcerer" if we assume that he was referring to Gojo then it could be implying he has already at least morally stopped holding himself to those standards and has given up on the principles of the Jujutsu Sorcery Organization.
Well I think before geto would have refused outright to kill non sorcerers. Toji pushed him to the point where all he lacks is a reason to kill humans. Spoiler warning: Next episode hes gonna find his reason
I think that shadows gathering under Geto, in the last scene, when he is surrounded by the crowd, symbolize what is happening within him. He is trying to be the good guy, but he is slowly stepping to the other side.
I loooove this episode, specially the after credit scene. You can clearly see when Geto's beliefs start crumbling, even trying to convince himself that there needs to be a reason to kill, when he is surrounded by people clapping and celebrating the death of a little girl. Like I bet he start thinking all the work that he does protecting non-sorcerers is for people like these, it surely is a complex feeling.
Geto was shook in this episode, realizing he isn’t the strongest. But Gojo is. His reasoning is tested and the next couple episodes will show us what pushes him over the edge.
I'm just enamoured by how relatable Getou feels throughout his character arc, even though we barely know him, barely hear him, barely see his thoughts. It's like this "simple" existential crisis, but also so much more. My dude a teenager, not even a grownup, probably still fucked in the head from hormones doing weird stuff to you. He's a prodigy with a lot of weight and expectations thrown upon him. He's a thinker - has to be, since despite being this young it seems like he can just immediately talk about his views and ideals. That's the type of guy IRL, that reads all the time, tries out dozen different religions, visits dozens of countries, meets thousands of people just to feel there's a point to all of it. I believe that - and can imagine the level of - he's completely disgusted, hearing those zealots clapping and cheering for him. For Riko's death, for what happened. It's sad and inspiring at the same time - that's what a nicely written story makes me feel.
it's not inspiring at all. It's just plain disrespectful. That's how jjk has always been. Gege thinks he's quirky for constantly doing the same ruin the special cozy feelings with a cold splash of reality. It's a really overplayed narrative tool in jjk.
@@ambatuBUHSURK You do realize that you've just thrown an opinion saying "oh, and that's a fact, lol", right? And yes, it is. For me, who's said it is. You're just using my positive comment to bring down the character, the manga and the author himself and I don't feel invited to discuss stuff with you tbh. Weird vibes, man.
Maki isn’t the only one with heavenly restriction! Mechamaru also has it just the reverse version. For being born with an extremely weak body he gets an extreme amount of cursed energy.
with maki the heavenly pact was made because she and mai are twins, and that's a curse on its own, that's why mai has cursed energy and maki has little to no cursed energy. And yes while gojo was already so powerful, he was still leraning his techniques and combinations, hence why he failed to do the red technique a few episodes ago, he still couldn't understed the concept of reverse cursed technique. BUT as he was dying he had an enlightment about the core concept of cursed energy, understood its nature and now you could say he reached """god-like""" powers, as the final round against toji is made for us to understand it, as he was the chosen one, the honored one in heaven and earth. ALSO yes geto saw his transformation, as he became even more powerful, and you have to remember he was not dead when toji said "you all were defeated by a *monkey* with no cursed energy like him". And toji, at that moment when he listened to that, the person who killed riko and gojo, imagine the feelings he had for this person. AND when he sees gojou transformed, on his high on another dimension, so much more powerful than him, imagine how his feelings are getting mixes, his moral dilemma might start from this conflict, of him being aware of how powerless he became by not only toji with no cursed energy, but also by gojo and his new status as a sorcere. that's why he almost can't recognize his best friend on the final scenes. and yeah, as carter said, its the beginning of his downfall from that scene. I really liked how they portrayed that with the colors (gojo getting out of the room in red and geto in the room in blue) as well as geto in the room and the floor beneath his feet getting darker and darker (also his eyes trembling) ANYWAYS I thought the episode was really clear and also the next one will bring more clarification for the soon to begin dilemmas and ideological conflicts in jujutsu really like your reactions, thank you once again for the videos !!!
So glad you pointed that out. That dynamic between both side of spectrum, a human with no cursed energy defeating a sorcerer and him seeing Gojo alive with a god-like vibe/demeanor to him, really messed him up on how he sees himself in the situation, almost like he felt he was all alone in this, which make him question his identity and what he lives for. Really interesting psychology stuff.
@@RazeDee yesss while in the manga I didn't really like his character, with the anime and them taking their time with the scenes, I'm loving his arc and how he develops from now on, that's why I pointed out for them ^^
@@myangeljin_amazing stuff well said. It's so amazing how they did that part through dialogue and animation. When Gojo asked if they should kill those people, Geto's reasoning not to kill them almost felt like him just justifying the principles he lives by as a sorcerer and his identity as a sorcerer in a society with the way they animated it, facial gestures and body language, made it seem like he was questioning everything he lives by. This was so well done.
The moment everything went silent and the piano music started to play while Gojo was floating, looking up at the golden clouds, everything in slow motion to him, feeling the pleasantness of this world- it was so beautiful and picturesque I almost shed a tear🥹 Mappa has outdone themselves with this one 10/10
Toji was a complete menace even till his death like bro literally came in wrecked both of the strongest jujutsu sorcerers, accomplished his mission in under 3 episodes and got killed by a high gojo
OMG I SWEAR TO GOD INVERTED SPEAR OF HEAVEN is being so overlooked by reactors. He shattered the simple domain with the spear cause it deactivates any technique made out of curse energy, like Gojo's infinity. Hell it even tanked RED.
Reverse cursed technique is the pinnacle of jujutsu sorcery and a very rare technique, that's one of the reason shoko is never sent on dangerous missions because prior to gojo's awakening, she was the only one at jujutsu high who could use it, hence she was seen as a jewel. Very few people master it, so far we've seen only gojo, yuta, sukuna and shoko use it, and only yuta and shoko can use it in healing others aside themselves. You all saw how yuji transcended to another level after tasting black flash, now imagine how gojo must have been feeling in that moment considering RCT is a more supreme form of jujutsu than summoning a black flash.....
What would you think happened if Geto said "Yes" to Gojo's propose? We never would've seen the present Gojo. He really was the moral compass of Gojo just as Akutami sensei said
Gege confirmed that gojo would have slaughtered them all. After loosing geto gojo pretty much took over getos ideals as his, so its fair to assume the reason gojo isnt as self obsessed in the presence is him seeing geto break
yeah heavenly restriction can make you have no cursed energy and make you physically strong, but you can have the reverse some people forget that mechamaru has the opposite. He has a weak body, but he has a lot of cursed energy so he controlls this mechanical doll the guy that fought panda in season 1 for if people forgot.
To address the point made at 12:35 Geto says you can’t kill them without there being a point. You could interoperate that as honourable but it’s still an issue because his reasoning isn’t focused on the fact killing is wrong, just that with a lack of a point it’s wrong. This is a dangerous mentality because many people find ways to justify killing and Geto is included in this. So if all he needs is a justification then that contrasts Gojo who was willing to do something so “evil” but he didn’t need a reason
It's crazy how Toji altered the Jujutsu World with his mere presence. What Toji been through all his life, I understand why he is the way he is. Gojo was his arch-nemesis, he had everything what Toji didn't.
12:40 I think there's a symbolic meaning for Geto to get Toji's curse. It builds a parallel between how Geto and Gojo were affected by him in opposite ways. While Toji's actions in this arc and subsequent events contribute to Geto's spiral, it causes Gojo to reach enlightment and become the strongest. Also, after Toji tells him about his son, Gojo gets Megumi under his wing, whose name means "blessings". So basically, while Gojo got Toji's "blessings" (Megumi/strength) Geto got his "curse" (the actual curse/ his downfall)
Gojo is indeed the strongest ...Toji is a very important character..he is liked and praised even more cuz he is megumi's father(megumi is already one of the most loved characters of the show)...also love how Gojo decided to take care of the guy's son who nearly killed him.
Great reaction! Might be my first comment on the channel too. Love y’all’s reactions. When Geto was unable to take it, it was the curse that rejected him. The curse was extremely loyal to Papaguro And without spoiling anything, the ending credit: they’re basically agreeing with eachother. In my personal opinion I think considering how different they’re from eachother, they deal with similar emotions differently. One kid is a little more grounded; while the other can see everything in life with the six eyes. And I also wouldn’t consider Gojo “cocky”. He operates on an “untra instinct” kinda level with everything he does. Considering that, he’s humble to me. Could be worse lol he can back up anything and everything he says.
Funny that Toji calls himself a monkey and his VA is the same as Zeke... the "Monkey" Titan lol Also, about Toji's curse: It's only explained in the jjk fanbook (or Manga extra info iirc) so... Geto couldn't absorb it because it had already made a solid master-servant relationship with Toji!
Toji's death brought me to tears watching real time at midnight :) Even though I already knew it was gonna happen. It's just that I'm so soft when it comes to Megumi, that when he remembered his son, I got emotional and was sad, plus the ed song playing
Gege (the author) said that Touji took the wrong path after his wife's death. And in case there was any doubt, Touji loved his son, but that would be understood later.
12:08 the author gege akutami said gojo was using geto as his moral compass in that scene, if geto had said yes to his question the gojo we see today would’ve been a completely different person
Love how geto called non jujutsu sorcerers as "monkeys". Now we know how he got this idea from 😂Toni really brought a huge impact for both Geto and Gojo
15:35 it's explained in season 1 that Mechamaru has a heavenly pact. Since he was born with a broken body he was granted alot of cursed energy which allowed him to remotely control another body from long distance
No words can describe how ABSOLUTELY BALLS THIS EPISODE IS as a non manga reader I KNEW gojo HAD to clap back but DAMN I did NOT expect his comeback to be anywhere near that BEAUTIFUL and I enjoyed every millisecond of it.
“Through heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one” is a infamous quote attributed to the have been said Buddha when he left his mother’s womb in Japanese Buddhism, and been used in the nations’ cultural history rather pervasively. It’s sort of like reciting an infamous bible quote the moment you come back from the dead like Jesus did if that helps for the context. In this case, Gojo is making an allusion to his “rebirth” as his version of “enlightenment” that Buddha is said to have achieved in Buddhism.
This episode freaking delivered. Shoutout to Mappa and their staff and everyone else who worked behind this. They don't get enough credit. Every frame was stunning. That moment when the sun hits and Toji and when the music shifts to a more pleasant, peaceful tune with Gojo swarmed in sunlight made that scene so heavenly. Perfectly capturing how Gojo was feeling in that moment and that he achieved enlightenment. "Throughout heaven and earth, I alone I'm the honored one" imagine saying that when you're just 17 😩
As only a anime watcher I would say something I noticed is in season one, the principal kept asking yuji what was his Goals and aspirations and not what other people wants from him. In this season, we keep seeing geto saying “that’s what jujitsu sorcerers do” or “that’s what it means to be a jujutsu sorcerer” we haven’t actually seen his actual ideals only the ideals of others
Its mentioned in gojo's fanbook profile that he can do literally ANYTHING he tries. Sure he's failed sometimes but we've seen it here and we will see it more in the future 😉 man is an absolute beast
The way you gotta see that final scene, is that it’s moreso Geto desperately convincing himself that killing everyone in that room is the wrong thing to do, as opposed to interpreting it as him trying to convince Gojo. He looks down, and his eyes drift as if gathering his thoughts and composure. He wasn’t answering Gojo’s question, he was answering his own. A lot of people will definitely miss this since it’s so subtle, but at this point most of Geto’s doubts have already set in. The ideals and morals he used to hold himself true to had shattered long before this point, all that’s keeping him sane at this point is denial. Geto’s such an amazing character man. It was so well done in the anime too
One of the most important themes of this arc and the series as a whole is that it’s a critique of the typical shonen hero organization. The Jujutsu world is an inherently hypocritical society in which to supposedly save the weak, you kill and murder and the real benefactors are usually a bunch of assholes. Yuji wants to ensure people have a proper death, but to do so, he’s forced to give others the most horrifying death imaginable. Gojo and Geto are taxed with keeping the Jujutsu Order intact, even if it means killing an innocent little girl. They were sent on a mission to make sure their world doesn’t crumble apart, and in doing so were exposed to how horrible it truly was. Toji is a metaphor for the freedom from this corrupt sort of right and wrong. He’s an agent of pure carnage who freed himself from Jujutsu (literally away from the zenin clan and physically away from cursed energy), but the small emotions he still felt held him behind and at the end of the day, that’s why he lost.
Fun fact: The honored one quote was something that the Buddha said when he came out of his mother's womb! Also if you look more into it this is basically a fight between the Buddha (gojo) vs the monkey king (toji) a story based of a Chinese novel 😃
limitless, reversal red, amplification blue, and six eyes are four different things, and no one in the gojo family has ever been born with all four except satoru (i think, i cant remember quite well) six eyes gives him the ability to see the flow of cursed energy in utmost level (it cannot be turned on and off thats why he wears a mask, without it, hell be seeing cursed energy even if its the tiniest bit), it also gives him the ability to control his curse energy very very precisely. limitless slows things down, it is the negative, reversal red speeds things, it is the positive energy, amplification blue uses negative energy to amplify limitless and create voids, its like a black hole that sucks things in. Purple is reversal red and amplification blue combined, in the sub its translated as "imaginary technique", thats because if your constantly rip space infinitely, nothing is left, and nothing cannot be defined, its imaginary mass, i hope this helps.
also the guy in the gojo family that had six eyes before gojo was killed by a dude from the zenin clan that had shadow technique like megumi, they basically killed each other, that was the only time someone from the gojo family that had six eyes was killed. (spoiler alert, when i first read that panel i knew immediately sukuna was gonna use megumi to kill gojo, i mean history repeats itself)
No, one isn't born with the four. Gojo's CT is Limitless. Blue and Red are just different applications of that CT. What happens every like 400 years or so iirc is someone born with both the Limitless and the Six Eyes.
Something significant about the honored one line. The EXACT same line was already used before in the manga, but for some reason they cut it out of the anime when it was clearly meant to be compared since it's the EXACT same quote. When Sukuna cut up Mahito back in episode 12, the little monologue Nanami has about noone in this world being more conceited than Sukuna and him living only guided by his pleasure and displeasure. That inner monologue of Nanami was not Nanami in the manga, but a narrator, no actual character. And he also said that "Throughout heaven and earth, he alone is the honored one." when referring to Sukuna. So there is a debate to be had about who is worthier of the title since it says they ALONE are the honored one, so it can only be one. In my opinion, Gojo is just high on power here and believes himself to be a god, but Sukuna was declared the honored one by the actual narrator. So I think Sukuna is the actual god with Gojo being a human high on power thinking himself to be a god, before he will eventually face a rude awakening. That last part is NOT a spoiler no worries, it's my assumption.
That credit scene was exceptionally done as well. It was so twisted how they kept clapping because they're elated that a little child is dead. This moment is the beginning of the Gojo and Geto we know. And also all your questions regarding Geto's downfall, Gojo's techniques including Domain expansion, will be gradually answered too.
To clarify one thing: Toji did stab Gojo's forehead with the inverted spear of heaven, that is why gojo showed him the healed scar by lifting his hair. The spear forcefully inactivates all cursed techniques [i.e. limitless (infinity)] and not basic cursed energy.
just a quick thing, the name Megumi means blessing, so when he was talking about blessings after defeating Geto, him saying blessed was like "oh wait that's my kid's name"
I just realized in JJK0 Geto said he had to kill/wanted to kill Yuta first to absorb Rika. In this episode, we realize why. He tried to take Toji’s curse, but it didn’t work, because it was still bound to Toji. That’s how he knew he had to kill the owner before he took the spirit. And at the end you see him understand this
What’s crazy is that fact that Gojo didn’t even know if his reversal technique was even going to work because at that point he just said fugg it i might be dead either way. Y’all fellas are in for a ride you ain’t seen nothing yet of this amazing story 😭😩 (Shibuya Arc readers we can all cry together 🥹)
My face hurt so much for the way I smiled throughout Gojo's scene 😭It exceeded my expectations!! And the post-credit scene was sickening! I wouldn't be surprised if this is the nexus of Geto's turning point, even though he restrained himself. Something more terrible must have happened...
Yeah I will say the angle looked way cooler in the manga, but I still think the delivery was pretty badass. They did a great adaptation regardless of that one moment and I don’t think it weakened the moment too much.
Great reaction, I heard your discussion. Here’s some clarifications: 1) Those people clapping in the end are not clapping for Gojo and Geto. In fact it’s insulting, they are clapping because Riko is dead. They are rejoicing because Riko is dead, Tengen(their god) will not be assimilating the vessel and may evolve further. 2) The creepy female scissor-using curse is not Tengen doing. The curse is Kuchisake-Onna. She was unleashed by Geto and is one of Geto's stronger curses. 3) When Geto tried to absorb the worm slug inventory curse during the fight. Geto didn’t know back then but it failed because the Worm had formed a ‘contract’ with Toji, making Toji the master. To absorb the worm, you got to kill the master first. In the end, Geto acquired the worm curse. You can see it in Jujutsu Kaisen 0. This is also the reason why in 0, Geto said to obtain the Rika Curse, he need to kill Yuta first. 4) While it is true Toji got defeated by Gojo in the 2nd fight. It’s insane to know Toji a normal human with Zero Curse Energy fought Gojo(a man blessed with ‘everything’. Six Eyes and Limitedless born into one.) Toji remarked that he can handle Blue and Red. The ‘something off’ that he wasn’t aware and couldn’t handle was Purple. In the first fight, Toji would have won flawlessly. But he deliberately do some really roundabout thing than truly killing Gojo. Perhaps Pride? For example, Toji was already slashing Gojo all around using the Reverse Spear of Heaven but yet when it comes to the finishing head stab Toji swapped out to a random weapon. Instead if it was the Reverse Spear of Heaven, it would have nullified whatever Gojo was trying and Gojo would be dead. So Gojo was really lucky there. This was remarked by Gojo, he said: You did not use the Cursed Tool Reverse Spear of Heaven to stab or chop off my head.(because the Reverse Spear of Heaven would have nullify whatever Gojo was trying) If you read into it, this was the whole turning point. Because Gojo was stabbed in the head with some other random weapon, Gojo could use Reverse Cursed Technique and recover. No reverse cursed technique to heal = Gojo would be dead and no rematch. Also = no mastering of Red = with no unlocking of Purple 5) Toji referred to himself when he said: “I thought you had already decided to set away such petty pride.” Usually Toji will not fight for free and escape instead of continuing the fight. But in this case Toji didn’t, he continued to confront Gojo for self-affirmation wanting to be the one to defeat Gojo who is the pinnacle of sorcerer world and to repudiate the Zenin clan who rejected him. Megumi mum is not a Zenin. Toji was from the Zenin Clan. Toji said I took my wife name a few episodes ago. Toji specified in this episode, he was rejected by the Zenin because he has no curse energy. Toji loved his wife deeply and she was a good woman but she died awhile back. 6) The name Megumi (惠) means blessings, so when Toji talked about blessings, he was like ‘oh wait, that’s my kid’s name’. 7) He sold his son to the Zenin family not because to get out of the clan. Toji was already originally rejected by the Zenin for having no curse energy. He sold his son back to the Zenin, because he believed in young Megumi's potential to be a real sorcerer and named him "Megumi" for it means blessings. His last words was entrusting Gojo to save his son. 8) Megumi means Blessing. In short, in a symbolic way you can take it as in this encounter Gojo received Toji’s Blessing and Geto received Toji’s Curse. It’s tragic honestly for Geto… Both Gojo and Geto changed. Gojo as we see from the start, he is a prick. He disliked the weak, in his high he even thought of slaughtering everyone of the cult in there. Geto was always the sane, caring and humble. He advocated for the weak. While traumatised, Geto held on to his belief and did not break yet. He was the voice of reason that convinced Gojo from not killing everyone in there. However basically Toji incident spark the beginning of the switch between them. Read the line when Toji spoke when he kick Geto. HINT: You guys lost to a MONKEY LIKE ME Toji gave Geto Monkey PTSD. 🙊
Yeah Geto is still a good guy here but you can see from the animation he is in immense pain and internal struggle. His belief was that the strong (sorcerers) should protect the weak (common people), but here he sees all these common people cheering for the death of Amane, which planted the seed of hatred in his heart.
Oh man, I was away for business and now coming back to watch the episode and you guy's reaction. Epic is the only way to describe this arc, and this whole show.
Here is the time Geto started to realize he is not the strongest...and Gojo realizes he is unbeatable...and those humans were celebrating and clapping for amanai's death...and Geto will eventually realize there is no point in even saving these humans and they can become a threat to socerres like Toji...this was SO GOOD..now imagine if i say it was even more effective in the manga YES.
Mechamaru also has a heavenly pact where his skin is super sensitive and he can’t even leave his bathtub or go out of his room… and in exchange he has the ability to control cursed dolls over very large distances.

Anime is all over better for JJK. One of the rare cases in anime industry where anime just makes the source material better like AOT, DEMON SLAYER
When they said he was “High” he was essentially high on DMT (the chemical released in your brain when you die). And Gojo was so close to death that his brian was probably flooded with DMT which it seems contributed to his “awakening”.
That! That's how I saw it.
Gojo probably would've have reached this level on his own in time since his Six Eyes exist and they simply amplify everything that has to do with controlling and reading cursed energy. but his fight with Toji gave him a shortcut simply because of the life and death situation he was in. going further into the story you're gonna find out why Gojo is literally HIM.
whos brian?
now i get why gojo was acting like he's on drugs

3:49 geto was unable to absorb toji’s curse because there is a master-servant relationship between toji and the worm. geto explains in the volume 0 movie (applying it to yuuta and rika) that he first has to kill the master before he can absorb the curse.
edit/addition: this is confirmed by gege in a volume extra.

geto said that he can absorb the curses if "they dont want to be with their master" (im paraphrasing). the curse rejected him, and during the post-credit scene we see the curse saying "mama, hug".

Geto's ideologies have followed adult Gojo through Season 1 and he uses it to control his darker nature.

just as some quick fun facts: you guys mentioned how gojo seemed "enlightened" during his fight w toji. well, gojo's first name "satoru" (悟) is actually the japanese word used for enlightment or some kind of spiritual awakening! also, you might have noticed how when gojo says "throughout heaven and earth, i alone am the honored one", it is portrayed in quotes in the subtitles. this is because this phrase in buddhist legend is believed to have been said by Buddha himself right after he was born, and while pointing with his right hand up at heaven and left hand down at earth. so, basically exactly what gojo did after his enlightment!
Ah Buddha never said that.
Atleast not in his original teachings in PALI.

There are many reasons why Geto chose to leave the school, but few mention the gap in power between him and Gojo after the Star Vessel mission, and the subtle jealousy and loneliness Geto felt about it.
It’s not a spoiler, in jjk 0 Geto explains he has to kill Yuta in order to get Rika because of that.

This is a quote that is sometimes attributed to the Buddha.

But he still forgot about him tho.
At the end in the post credit scene, when geto was saying that there needs to be point to the killing, I imagine that geto was just tryna convince himself not to act, sorta like self reasoning, but he he was tryna hold himself back.

We are literally so stoked for Shibuya
THANK YOU!! We are BEYOND hyped for Shibuya arc and can’t wait to experience it with y’all!!
with maki the heavenly pact was made because she and mai are twins, and that's a curse on its own, that's why mai has cursed energy and maki has little to no cursed energy.
I really liked how they portrayed that with the colors (gojo getting out of the room in red and geto in the room in blue) as well as geto in the room and the floor beneath his feet getting darker and darker (also his eyes trembling)
ANYWAYS I thought the episode was really clear and also the next one will bring more clarification for the soon to begin dilemmas and ideological conflicts in jujutsu

You all saw how yuji transcended to another level after tasting black flash, now imagine how gojo must have been feeling in that moment considering RCT is a more supreme form of jujutsu than summoning a black flash.....

they didnt explain it in the anime but the reason gojo was so high was because he fried his own brain on going 150% with his six eyes.

To address the point made at 12:35
Geto says you can’t kill them without there being a point.
Geto saved Gojo from becoming curse user, the basketball scene shows that Gojo always discuss and learn his morality from Geto.
I love how crazy Gojo is when he comes back, as if he had some incomprehensible divine awakening from mastering RCT

When Geto was unable to take it, it was the curse that rejected him. The curse was extremely loyal to Papaguro
And without spoiling anything, the ending credit: they’re basically agreeing with eachother.

Also, about Toji's curse:
It's only explained in the jjk fanbook (or Manga extra info iirc) so... Geto couldn't absorb it because it had already made a solid master-servant relationship with Toji!
Toji Fushiguro ladies and gentlemen, my favourite character of JJK. The Goat himself, the transcendent one.
you know a character is badass and among the top of anime when they die standing, my man Toji didnt fall even in death
Toji's death brought me to tears watching real time at midnight :)
Even though I already knew it was gonna happen.
9:22 "Why am I kinda sad?" That's a question that every person watching this episode asked themselves
Love how geto called non jujutsu sorcerers as "monkeys". Now we know how he got this idea from 😂Toni really brought a huge impact for both Geto and Gojo
Toji is one of the most pivotal characters in the series. He basically dictated what Gojo and Geto is today lol
Toji dying on his feet is kinda badass
Definitely hard
元ネタは弁慶という日本の昔の武人の最期ですね
Why is Toji someone's favorite?
This arc might be over but Toji's legacy will live forever in the series 😅
RIP Toji Fushiguro, a true beast that won't be forgotten 😭💔
I love seeing anime onlies growing to love geto, haha. it’s not for no reason that manga readers like him
What an episode and season so far, been loving jjk atm.
Guys I know I had an insane take 😭😭😭😭
Your insane takes are what some of us watch for😂
Geto is toji is crazy theory lmao
this episode was amazing man, the music and art during the Honoured One scene was beautiful
It was so well done in the anime too
at 8:57 when toji said "something's off" I thought he meant his arm ngl

THE SPONGEBOB PIC TOOK ME OUTTT
😂
I just realized in JJK0 Geto said he had to kill/wanted to kill Yuta first to absorb Rika. In this episode, we realize why. He tried to take Toji’s curse, but it didn’t work, because it was still bound to Toji. That’s how he knew he had to kill the owner before he took the spirit. And at the end you see him understand this
What’s crazy is that fact that Gojo didn’t even know if his reversal technique was even going to work because at that point he just said fugg it i might be dead either way.
Y’all fellas are in for a ride you ain’t seen nothing yet of this amazing story 😭😩
(Shibuya Arc readers we can all cry together 🥹)
My face hurt so much for the way I smiled throughout Gojo's scene 😭It exceeded my expectations!!
And the post-credit scene was sickening! I wouldn't be surprised if this is the nexus of Geto's turning point, even though he restrained himself. Something more terrible must have happened...
I love how in jjk0, geto who's injured says to gojo "you re late", and in this gojo says " you re late suguru"
They fumbled Gojo's pose during his heaven line. How? It looked so cool in the manga. All they had to do was show him a bit more zoomed out.
Fr they should have shown the whole pose snd not zoomed in
Yeah I will say the angle looked way cooler in the manga, but I still think the delivery was pretty badass. They did a great adaptation regardless of that one moment and I don’t think it weakened the moment too much.
Great reaction, I heard your discussion.
Here’s some clarifications:
1) Those people clapping in the end are not clapping for Gojo and Geto.
Six Eyes and Limitedless born into one.)
Toji remarked that he can handle Blue and Red.
This was remarked by Gojo, he said: You did not use the Cursed Tool Reverse Spear of Heaven to stab or chop off my head.(because the Reverse Spear of Heaven would have nullify whatever Gojo was trying)
If you read into it, this was the whole turning point. Because Gojo was stabbed in the head with some other random weapon, Gojo could use Reverse Cursed Technique and recover.
No reverse cursed technique to heal = Gojo would be dead and no rematch. Also = no mastering of Red = with no unlocking of Purple
5) Toji referred to himself when he said: “I thought you had already decided to set away such petty pride.”
Usually Toji will not fight for free and escape instead of continuing the fight.
It’s tragic honestly for Geto…
Both Gojo and Geto changed.
HINT: You guys lost to a MONKEY LIKE ME
Toji gave Geto Monkey PTSD.
Toji was HIM..can't wait to see Gojo and Geto exchanging their roles lol
you know its was a banger episode when the reaction itself is almost as long as the episode lol

"Throughout heaven and earth, I AM THE ONLY HONORED ONE"
Gojo saying "Throughout heaven and earth I alone am the honored one" is a quote from the Buddha and his first words upon the earth.
0:22 probably the releast statement I've ever heard and know we restart the cycle again
Yeah Toji realises that the people he thought were weak are the only threat to him n other socerers..."Monkeys"
That's not happened but ok
@@harshraj9266 this is what anime only people can get from story so far!!

4:07 "Where could the story even go?!"
And that's the genius of *_good writing._* Good writing takes the usual tropes and dispenses of them early, and turns the story into something you can't anticipate. The fact that we know the future beyond this conflict is like bait, and once we bite it the writers are able to yank us into deep waters. "Lol you thought you knew how this ends? It's not so simple!"
Good writing trumps everything
