Yuta is introduced to the story and the movie did a phenomenal job at getting you invested into his character along with Gojo, Geto, and the other main characters from season 1. Yuta was the original protagonist for the manga. The original got scrapped I think and it was redone with Yuji as the protagonist. Gege being the beast he is still tied the 2 stories together.
Redone twice because apparently Megumi was going to be the new protagonist and Yuji was suppose to die.
@@In-The-Zone Tbh Megumi's a way cooler backstory/character than Yuji. Even with the "Gojo is the main character'' memes, at least Megumi has the cursed technique that was used to kill someone on Gojo's level and has the potential to match Gojo. Yuji feels like when you create your custom character in an RPG.

Imo jjk after shibuya arc was pretty messed up then, dont know the direction of the story. Now we are in right timeline ofc we need to go back again to get clarifies all these things coming up from manga 🙃
jujutsu kaisen was pitched as a short 4 chapter manga, it was not scrapped. Because people loved it they (shonen jump) wanted Gege to make it as a weekly series. Gege realized that writing a long series with Yuuta as the protag was not possible, so he made them grade up to the next grade and created Yuuji Nobara and Megumi. But some concepts was probably not in Gege's mind (like domain expansions) so that is why they are not in the JJK 0, Gege likely made them when writing the current series
i think that them putting the movie after the first season was a good idea because the first season explained a lot about the world and how cursed energy works, while the movie couldn’t delve much into it because it needed to fit a certain runtime

@@zekmannYes, but it was supposed to be a one shot, so they basically don't explain anything, while in the movie they even added the black flash to retcon the outdated volume zero, if you watched the first season, then you'll know what it is and why it's important, otherwise you'll simply think that it's something that they put to make the fight more visually appealing, but the order for the anime definitely requires you to watch the first season first, then you can choose to watch either the first five episodes of season two or the movie first, then the rest of season two.

Endcredits of Movie 0 Many people are probably confused as to what happened. It was connected to Season 1 where Yuji was on a mission with Nanami, Gojo went to visit Yuta to discuss something we'll see later in the Shibuya arc. Coming in Season 2

It goes to show how horrible Rika's life was that the time she spent as a curse after dying was happier than her time alive because she got to be with Yuta, someone that actually cared for her.
The manga character notes on Rika even tell us that she had to 'steal' her own dead mother's wedding ring to give to Yuta, because her grandmother had taken it.
"i want confidence to say its okay that im alive" this hits harder than special grades
Fun fact is that in CC, it says "while Rika-chan is distracting the curses." but in Japanese, it's actually saying "while curse is distracting Rika-chan"
Yuta said this because he thinks that Rika-chan is far more dangerous than normal curses. But unfortunately the person who made this CC didn't get that.

What he means is simply that Geto is one of the few special-grades, but was banished from the school after the massacre he went on.
There are currently just four Special Grade ranked sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuki Tsukumo, Geto Suguru, Yuta Okkotsu and Gojo Satoru.

Miguel is a highly skilled jujutsu sorcerer capable of holding his own with Satoru Gojo! He's not mentioned has a special grade! The only special thing about him is his Special grade cursed tool (Black Rope).

I ended up seeing this movie on a whim in theaters and I loved it! ended up buying the manga volume for it as well :)
When I saw this in the theather, the audience was kind of weirded out about the love between Rika and Yuta.😂

Just for those curious on what gojo said to geto, its highly plausible that what he says to yuta when giving back his id is what he said to geto "my best friend, my only friend", this is supported by the creator saying that gojo says the same line that he said to geto, somewhere later on in the manga chapter, and people deducted that it was likely that

it's also theorized that the 1st opening of season 2 implies what gojo said to geto as well before he killed him

No, the creator said the same line was said at another point in the chapter. He did not say the line came from Gojo, nor that it occurred after Geto’s death scene. Stop making stuff up.

‘I love you’ isn’t three words in Japanese by the way, it’s ‘aishiteru’ which I believe is written like this 愛してる. It’s what Yuta says to Rika before she annihilates Geto.
I just now noticed that after Inumaki and Yuuta kill the strong curse, you can see that Geto actually managed to absorb the curse that Toji used in Season 2 against him and Gojo
they also show geto absorb it in s2 episode 4 in the end credits scene

@@topher2260 To be fair they don't show him absorbing the Inventory Curse, just that he found it after Gojo injured it. Though 0 does definitvely show that he absorbed it (and all the cursed tools in it in the process).
Dont forget that Yuji jumped into like a 5th floor window before even knowing what Jujutsu High or Cursed Energy was. Yuji has to be atleast decedent from Odin himself lol
Yuuji is made by Kenjaku himself specifically to be Sukuna’s vessel so he was never an ordinary boy even before he knew of the jujutsu world

there's i think 4? special grade sorcerers and Yuuta is one of them. I think its Gojo, Geto, Yuuta and the blond lady we meet in ep 5 of season 2 who they said she's a special grade but doesn't do missions (sorry i dont remember her name). I'm not sure if there are 4 or 5, but these are the ones i can remember at the moment. So Yuuta is definitely impressive because he's already one of the few special grades and in the JJK Season 1 timeline he's been a sorcerer for only one year and was already going on solo missions. Like he's only a second year, its crazy.

This is because Toji can put anything, including weapons, in and out of his mouth. Also, when that appeared in front of Geto in jjk2, he said, "Mom, hug me.” and do you know why Marvel movies are not as popular in Japan as they are in other countries? Because of anime. In Japan, when Stranger Things was #1 worldwide on Netflix, Spy Family was #1 in Japan. Anyway, you guys should watch more other anime productions.

The Geto creating Mahito is a great theory. Geto fucking hates humans and Mahito is the curse that represents fear and hatred of humans.
Jujutsu sorcerers can’t create curses though! That’s why Geto wants to kill all non-sorcerers, he wants the curses to not exist anymore
@@funkyfranx Yes they can, they explicitly state you have to kill a sorcerer with curse energy to avoid that. Likewise the only reason sorcerers don't create curses normally is because they can control their curse energy output, its not that they outright can't.

I think you guys mixed up what happened in season 1. They said Okkotsu was the only 1st year that participated the year before as it was usually only 2nd and 3rd years. Pretty sure Kyoto also lost that exchange, but you know Okkotsu did well because Todo was looking forward to fighting him again so much.

The movie was a 10 out of 10 but I read Irino Miyu Haku's VA from spirited away) voicing Yuta Okkostu, it was appointed his voice for Yuta, I was insanely hyped for him being Yuta then THEN MAPPA CHANGED IT TO SHINJI’S (I’m not mad at Megumi Ogata, I
love her, one of the best VA’s in the industry) BUT I EXPECTED IRINO TO VOICE YUTAAAA, OR MAYBE SOMEONE LIKE YUKI KAJI (Eren Jeager’s VA) BUT MAPPA CHANGED IT all because the creator for Yuta was inspired by Shinji, also even this Irino has worked with Gojo’s VA. it was perfect, all planned out (again I love Megumi Ogata.)

Another thing, if you are wondering what Gojo said to Geto at the end when there was no audio, he said: “You are my best friend, my one and only”, he also says this when yuta asks how gojo found his ID, it’s truly heartbreaking knowing everything that happened between them up until this point
im fairly certain gojos last words were never confirmed, the only people who knew them were the voice actors since they were supposedly in the script
they never confirmed it, but the VAs revealed it was recorded, the eng VA said it was 3 words.

I know this was 3 months ago but i'm here to clarify this and give an answer. his words were actually added to the opening song of premature death arc. Ao no Sumika. as it is written in Gojo's point of view, he says "The words that curse you are stuck in the back of my throat. 'will we meet again?'" which signifies that that's indeed what Gojo wanted to say. but in order not to curse him, he says it in a way that doesn't curse him, which ends up being "we will meet again." that's gojo's last words to geto.

I love Yuta, he's my favourite Jujutsu Kaisen, even after Gojo.
I watched this in 3D and VIP, oh boy what an experience
His last words were confirmed to be 3 words, “I love you” makes sense to me whether it’s meant romantically meant or as best friends
If you haven't figured it out by now, Yuta is a " copy " type user. With Rika as a endless fountain of cursed energy he can copy and use any technique by using her. The energy also makes him insanely fast and strong. Yuta is ranked number 2 under Gojo as the strongest with alot of room to grow learn how to use Rika.

Not sure if this is a spoiler, but here's basically the explanation for Rika: Obviously tread carefully if you don't want to know.
Rika A: Is the Original Rika's spirit
Rika B: Is Cursed spirit Rika
Rika C: is The cursed fusion of A and B
The movie was all Rika C. Yuta created a cursed spirit with Rika's spirit. In the end, Yuta lifted the curse he put on Rika A, so now he has Rika B, just the curse. So he can still use Rika B which is just as powerful. And Rika A is watching him from heaven
